It’s hard to believe that I have been in this league for over 2 years now. It all started on a cold March night in 2019, where I was nobody looking to find myself a new hobby. Little did I know at that time, I was about to discover a second family. Throughout these years, I’ve made a lot of friends, and some enemies too. But trust me, I have a lot of thanks to give.
Yellowknife
The original team that took a chance on me in the 5th round of the S15 draft. @Bigred1580 and @shadyshoelace are the first two people that come to mind when I think of this era, as they were the most friendly guys in the Yellowknife locker room, BigRed always seemed like a father figure in Yellowknife to me, and shady was always there to help me out when I needed help to build what Ryan Leaf Jr was supposed to be, a Dan Miller clone. The next few people I think of in Yellowknife are @Trautner , @AirCrou and @Tomen , @flyeaglesfly29 @timeconsumer @manicmav36 I haven’t spoken with token that much since the Yellowknife days, but he is a positive influence on the Yellowknife locker room, and he will be a leader wherever he gets drafted to on Thursday night. For Crou, you always had the courage to stand out even in the face of adversity, and I’m proud to see that you’re currently successful in Berlin.
Chicago
This was truly my darkest time in the National simulation football league, which was the old name, but I still found some friends, @Blueline is one of them, similar to Tomen, we haven’t talked in awhile, but Blue was a leader in the Chicago locker room.
Austin
This was truly what caused a turnaround in not only my personality in the league, but it also made me a better person.
@JKortesi81 @Mooty99 you guys were crucial to my character change, from helping me build Videl to where she is today, to helping me be more positive in the locker room. @Kyle @Kyamprac @Amidships @GlimsTC @Tonzy @RDBSouthPaw thank you all for being there for me when I need to vent or talk about something, it helped become more aware of some of my personal demons and y’all are crucial to helping me overcome them.
I also have a few more folks to thank as well. @Tesla you are the most inspiring individual that I’ve seen in this league, you’re the definition of an Angel and also a Bad ass. @BenDover Where do I start with you? You’re the reason I keep pushing for new heights these days even though I struggle with Autism and mental health. You are the light that never goes out. Thanks for being my brother. @SchwarzNarr @IsaStarcrossed @Jo3fish5 @Duilio05 @bex @iStegosauruz you all have a strong influence on who I am today, and I thank you for that.
I know that this might rattle some of you guys.
But S31 will be not only be my final season as Videl, but the last in this league too.
I have college starting in the fall, and my job is taking most of my time away from the league.
I’d like to thank Austin for the opportunity to play for you guys. 9 seasons in the Austin Brown And Teal.
Austin (and the league itself) always felt like a second home to me (Even though I almost left a few times due to mental health), This place was where I thrived the most in my time in the league.
I don’t care what you call me by, Videl, Valor, or even by derogatory terms, but this league has been my safe place for 2+ years, and I’d like to thank everyone for the past two aka 17 ISFL seasons, for hanging around and watch my character development. I’ve been through highs and lows, and I want to finish off my time in the league with a bang. The Ultimus.
Even if I don’t end up winning the Ultimus, I want to be remembered as the guy next door who’s always willing to give a helping hand.
Godspeed to you all, and may the lord be with you.
