Sconnie: Hey everyone, Sconnie McHits here with recent Seawolves draftee WR and new create, Jon Montroy! Jon, how was the draft? Were you expecting to go to Norfolk? Any thoughts on where you were selected?
Jon: It was a great draft! I had to only stay up til like 10 which was good. Although I was expecting to go earlier, I'm okay with where I got selected. And I mean that's the rule of the sim league, doesn't matter where you get selected. And I very much was expecting to go to Norfolk, they have a great locker room and most of the guys/gals in there are great people. Very happy to have gone here, hoping to get at least 2 years in the development league although I'm not really sure how that works LOL.
Sconnie: We are so glad to have you! Tell us about joining our main server and your entry into the team during the draft. What was the reception like? Is there anyone you have really hit it off with already?
Jon: Oh man, the moment I got drafted it was my mentions BLOWNNNNNN UP with welcomes from the team. You can tell that they love the draft and they love getting new players. And I mean I've hit it off with everyone really well. Can't pick a favorite.
Sconnie: That's great to hear! Have you had any discussions with management about your role this season and moving forward?
Jon: Very much have. Before the draft negs kinda told me where I would be playing if I got picked. Basically because the Seawolves WR room is stacked with vets, I'm gonna be playing TE1 and WR4, which I am TOTALLY fine with. I'm just here to have some fun and meet new people.
Sconnie: That's a great attitude to have, and we love team players! It's only a matter of time before some of those other WRs get called up and you'll have some good experience under your belt to take over. What are your goals for your player this season and beyond?
Jon: Like I mentioned before, playing in the dev league for one year after I get drafted. In terms of what team I'd like to play for, I have not gotten a DM from any major teams, so if you know any of those GMs tell them to hmu. But really I just wanna get drafted, take another year to develop to be the best Jon Montroy you will ever see.
And in one of those 2 years, I wanna win a championship in the dev league. The seawolves can do it this year.
Not saying they will, just sayin watch out.
Jon Montroy has played TE one or two times in sim leagues before.
Sconnie: Which one of your fellow rookies, Seawolves or otherwise, should the rest of the league be watching out for?
Jon: He isn't a seawolf which I'm upset about, but Pocketsand seems like a cool, fun dude that knows what he's doing.
Watch out for him, he will throw his lethal pocket sand at you face when you LEAST expect it.
Sconnie: Wow, sounds like something we'll need to game plan around when we square off! Is there anything else you'd like to share with our readers?
Jon: Again, to any ISFL GMs reading this, get your scouting in early. I'm always ready for a bunch of questions! And then also, netlandic smells.
