tbf, Italy and Jamaica both kiiiinda suck in the grand scheme of things. I'd be surprised if Australia and Brazil didnt dominate the group ... but that's certainly top of my list of groups to watch. Most of my favourites are in there.

The draw is pretty cool though. Most groups seem pretty clear, but I can see upsets in groups A & D maybe. You'd imagine the top two seeds in every other group are pretty much certain to progress though. There's a pretty decent chance Chile still get through, btw, if they beat Thailand. Only the two worst third place teams are eliminated in the groups

I'm kinda bummed that the World Cup is too early in the year for me to go to France and watch any of games with my niece. She's getting into the sport now but school won't be done in time for me to take her to any games in 2019 Might try and catch a weekend one but it doesn't seem like it's gonna be doable. I'll have to settle for taking her to a pre-season friendly at Villa Park

I`m not familiar with how good the teams are, but Jiggly's got me hyped for the raggaegirls.

Damn sucks you wont be able to make the tournament, would be a fun experience I imagine.

The Reggae Girls have a pretty cool story. The JFF folded the women's team about... ten years ago, but then Cedella Marley (daughter of Bob Marley) started a campaign and raised/provided funds to have it reinstated in 2014. Months after the team was reinstated they made the final of the Caribbean Cup. Now, they've qualified for the World Cup. Not bad for a team that literally didn't exist five years ago, eh?

I'd love to see them do well, but they're nowhere near the level of Australia or Brazil (for reference, the US pumped them 6-0 in the CONCACAF semis in October) so I'm keeping my expectations realistic.

Would have been nice to take my niece to one of their games though. She might play for Jamaica one day, after all.
