The mood in the Grizzlies was ecstatic following their win against the East Cobras. One of those celebrating was tight end Timmy Hoss. We managed to tear him away from his celebrations with his teammates to ask him a few questions.
Congratulations on the win Timmy! How are you feeling right now?
I feel fantastic. Some games just feel special. This one did, it was something in the air. Some teams just feel special too, and the Grizzlies definitely fit that category. I’ve been in positive locker rooms and negative locker rooms, so I can tell the difference between the two. The Grizzlies have come together quicker than any team I’ve been on before. I think part of that was due to our early success followed by three losses in a row.
What was the mood in the locker room like during those losses?
It was rough, but we all kept our heads up. In fact, it think it helped us develop a sense of gallows humor with each other. Being a team is easy you’re winning. It’s failure that is the true tests of teams. You know, the prospect bowl is just a small stop in our careers before we move onto the DSFL. We all understand that, but we just want to do our best. Everyone here wants to show off what we can do for the draft. We all want to win for each other. And we are having so much fun as a team. At the end of the day, that’s what it’s all about.
Do you feel you’ve been given the opportunity to properly show off your skills for DSFL GMs?
I understand why you’re asking. My stats obviously haven’t been as good as I would have hoped. After catching a touchdown in the first game, my contribution to our air attack has been greatly reduced. Fortunately, our team is great at producing rushing yards. Forrest and Jimbo are both fantastic backs. I’m out there blocking for them and trying to do my small part in helping them do their job. Everyone on the offense is, every time a pass is caught it opens up the run game a little more. Not to take away from the skill of our backs. I hope DSFL GM’s see how hard I work in every facet of the game, on and off the field. And I either way, I’m going to put in as much work as I can to improve every day.
I want to go back to the contributions of your teammates. Who have you been most impressed with?
This may sound stereotypical, but everyone. Everyone has seen how explosive and productive Forrest has been. Jimbo hasn’t seen the same numbers Forrest but is a tremendous help in the passing game. Ahri has really started to come into his own as a receiver as the team has played. Brave Ulysses is out there blocking on every play and hasn’t given up a single sack. Everyone on the defense has been fantasic. Our defense is our best feature every game. Nick, Khalil, and Fraiser have been giving opposing O-lines lots of trouble. Guy and Quenton have been a wrecking crew at linebacker. Taters and Matteo have been locking down wide receivers. Faith, Martavius, and Brayden have all been stopping opposing teams from going over top. Cameron joined later but immediately fit in has been as dependable as a kicker can be. Gimmy has obviously had his struggles, but he is still working hard and I know he has a lot of potential. Every DSFL GM should be looking at these guys as the top of the class. I hope I get drafted with as many of them as possible.
Speaking of the draft, one final question. How high do you expect to go in the draft?
If I am being honest, I don’t think about it all that much. Being drafted at all is such a dream. I know my performance has not been that of a top tier tight end. All I can hope is a go somewhere with great locker room with team mates that value.
Thank you for your time. Good luck in the playoffs.
Thank you, I’m going to return to celebrating with my teammates now.
