The Copperheads were found to have an error in their budget sheet. Joseph Henry's contract was listed as $1mil for the season when it should've been listed as $2mil. This put Austin $1mil over the salary cap. The problem has since been addressed, but as they played week 1 over the cap the following punishment is being made:
The Austin Copperheads will be fined $2,000,000 towards their cap in S17. (Double what they were over the cap.)
