[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Early Life[/div]
(Narrator)
“Hello there and welcome to the Season 1 Finale of Path To The Draft, my name is Charismatic White Guy and tonight we will be talking about Takeda Okura and his life into the DSFL, and eventually the NSFL.
July 16th, 2010, Jang Okura and Sabri Okura are away from home, and not to work. In Osaka Japan the gift of Child Birth has happened. Takeda Okura has been born. In Takedas early life his father worked for a big corporation that I can not speak of due to legal reasons, but because of that job Takeda lives with his mother while his father would go on business trips across Japan.”
(S.Okura)
“We had big plans for our son, and we still do. We had him start playing sports at an early age so he would know what he was getting into when he was older. That doesn’t mean we also wanted him to do poorly in Academics”
(Narrator)
“After having a failed basketball career, Takedas parents almost gave up on the dream of sports, and Instead wanted him to focus directly on academics. Takeda always has a disliking for whatever sport was showed to him by his family, whether it be Ping pong, soccer, or baseball. But when Takeda reaches the age of 13 one sport clicked something into him. That sport was American Football.
(S.Okura)
“We had finally given up on an athletic career for our son. And I don’t know why or what part of football brought him a love for it, but it did. He signed up for one of the only teams in our region of the sport. Takeda wasn’t the best at it so we didn’t think it was gonna get him anywhere”
(Narrator)
“Takedas first ride to fame for the sport came when he was 14, in a game that would decide which of the 2 teams would go to the playoffs. There was 3:27 seconds left in the 3rd quarter. Okura has already snagged 3 INTs and 12 tackles for his team but we’re somehow down 15-13. During a play Takeda jumped up with 1 hand to intercept the ball and stop a for sure touchdown. But it didn’t end there as before he could be touched down by contact he got up and starting running down the field. He broke a total of 6 tackles on his return back for a touchdown. After winning his junior league finals it was time for Takeda to take it to the next level”
———————————————————————————————————————
[div align=\\\"center\\\"]High School Career[/div]
(Narrator)
“After a very good Junior league career Takeda knew that if he wanted to play at the top level he would have to be one of the best to ever play in Japan. Takeda at an abysmal 5’6 his freshman year would try out for football and would actually make the team, but due to his size he wouldn’t be able to make the starter position until it was too late to matter”
(Takeda)
“Yes I was a smaller kid, it’s hard to play safety unless you’re around 6’1 by the time you make it to High School. After my freshman year I was hoping for a growth spurt to end all growth spurts”
(Narrator)
“After another amazing year of academics it was time for Takeda to get back in the groove for football. Having somehow only gaining an inch of height Takeda was once again on the “Short” end of the stick. This season would be different though, as Takeda Okura would be getting his first snaps as a High school Safety. After the Osaka Flying Hedgehogs would once again miss the playoffs at a bottom of the pile 1-11 Takeda knew that he had to stop caring just about himself and get the show on the road. After his Sophomore school year Okura was already receiving Scholarships just for education. Instead of leaving high school early to go to college Takeda decided to stick around and play some more Football”
(Takeda)
“At the time it was a hard choice, but looking back I don’t regret it at all. If I hadn’t I easily could’ve messed up my education and might be living with my parents, instead I’m making millions to do what I love”
(Narrator)
“Takeda Experienced the growth spurt that he had been waiting for and made it to 6’1 in height. It did come with the consequence of him losing some of his speed, but with some training he was able to get even faster than he was before reaching a 4.45 40 time, beating his record of 4.56. Okura would be a full time starter for the first time in his career. Leading the Flying Hedgehogs to an undefeated season and led All of Japan in INTs, making the list of top 1000 Players in the world for High School. When it came to his final season as a high school player, Takeda had gained attention from around the world and became a local celebrity in Japan”
(Takeda)
I knew after I started getting offers to play football in America that I was gonna have a hard choice coming, go for a top education, or play a sport professionally at an American team.”
(Narrator)
“Not even 2 weeks into the season Takeda had already received an offer from America to play college ball. That team was the Oregon State University Beavers. Takeda was only known as a 3 star recruit back before the season really kicked off. But he knew that he could do better. In just 5 games Takeda had already recorded 10 Interceptions on the year, coming up though would be a first in the history of High School Athletics, as the Number 1 ranked team in Japan would be playing a Team from America in the state of Oregon. A perfect place to get scouted by a college team
The Flying Hedgehogs would go into the game as underdogs and leave as champions as they would surprisingly dominate and win 45-13 with Takeda being the game MVP. The time had come for Takeda to pick either a college for academics, or a college for sports. And on May 15th 2026 that choice would be as Takeda would commit to the first team who offered him a scholarship, the Oregon State Beavers.”

[div align=\\\"center\\\"]College Career[/div]
(Takeda)
“Like I said I knew it was gonna be a tough choice, but it was one I had to make. I picked to go for College Athletics and for loyalty picked the team that first openly scouted me. I made sure they knew they wouldn’t regret the choice”
(Narrator)
“Takeda would be instantly redshirted just as he joined the team. Not a decision one would usually like but a decision he couldn’t alter. When the time came to play in his sophomore season there wouldn’t be nearly any competition for starting safety, and won it almost instantly. From here on out it was smooth sailing for Takeda. After an above average Sophomore season Takeda was already draft eligible and was invited to the NFL combine if he wanted to go after the season, but Takeda decided to go for the best of the best and wanted to make the NSFL. Takeda stepped up his training intensely and would win another starting job as Free Safety. After a quick 0-2 beginning to the season he would lead the eventual top defense of the NCAA that season with 16 Interceptions, 150 tackles, and 3 sacks.
(Takeda)
“I was on the top of my game but I wasn’t done yet. I wanted us to get invited to a BCS bowl since we finished so high up but only got to play in the Go Daddy Bowl. I decided to go for the top and try and make the Rose Bowl.”
(Narrator)
“This year however Takeda had competition for Safety as OSU had recruited the top Safety in the country to play. Takeda knew that he had to take the biggest step he has ever taken. Bigger than playing at 5’7, bigger than skipping an Invitation to the NFL. Takeda in what seemed like the hardest fight in his life managed to win one more year of being the starter at Free Safety. Takeda would nearly become the back up throughout the season but always stayed 1 step above his competition. At the end of their final home game his coach was asked why he kept nearly benching Okura and he responded with “Its because I’ve been testing him. To prove if he is ready for the big leagues. I believe he proved to the world that after this season”.
(Takeda)
“That moment right there was the biggest confidence boost ever. Most satisfying thing also. To be pushed like that just to figure out it was to help you get scouted is amazing”
(Narrator)
“Takedas wishes from last season were answered, as after a PAC-12 championship and an 11-1 season the Beavers were invited to the Rose Bowl to play Maryland. Even though they would eventually lose in 3rd overtime Takeda Okura made his mark on Oregon State football and would be invited to the DSFL combine. Where only the best of the best recruits go.
*Video Clip Begins Playing*
“And with the 7th pick of the 2030 DSFL draft, the San Antonio Marshals select.... Takeda Okura, Safety, Oregon State*
(Narrator)
“That will do it for the Season 1 Finale of Path To The Draft, we hope you enjoyed the series so far. I’m your host Charismatic White Guy and goodnight”
