The recent dismissal of Yeti general manager Malmouf Silvers and head coach Micycle McCormick by team owner Biggert Footson led to a somewhat disorganized practice session for the team under the direction of acting general manager Bobby Wasabi. The team's young standout at defensive tackle, Bubba Thumper, took a moment to step away from the mess to address the media curious to hear players' thoughts on the situation.
"I can't say I'm happy about this decision," said Thumper, his standard goofy grin replace by a much more somber expression, "Malmouf and Micycle are a large part of the reason I am here, and despite what their record might show, they made for a solid duo to run this organization". When asked about the decision to install Wasabi as acting general manager, Thumper punted, "My hope is that Bobby doesn't change too much. We've obviously struggled this season, but we're still a couple of pieces from competing, so I don't think the plan set forth by Malmouf and Micycle is flawed, I just think we have to trust the process".
Thumper for the most part refused to comment on his feelings towards Footson, but he did say that he will continue to play despite his disappointment, "Listen, whether I'm happy or not, I'm part of this organization, and I'm not going to change my approach just because Biggert's business opinion is different than my own. I'm here to give my everything to winning games for the people of Colorado, and so is everybody on this team. Footson can take our general manager, he can take our head coach, but he can't take our fanbase, and we play for them as much as anyone".
With that statement hanging heavy in the air, Thumper strapped his helmet back on and trotted back onto the practice field, his sights oddly set on getting to Wolfie McDummy as often as possible.
