The Wraiths are still the leading team in the NSFC and the favorite to win the division. They remain undefeated in the division and have a firm hold amongst the other teams trying to dethrone the skeleton faced team from Canada. Their week 8 gamed against the Yeti are a low risk game in the way of stopping their undefeated NSFC streak that currently sits at five straight. The Butchers are the only possible team that could dethrone the Wraiths from the top of the division. All eyes will be on that game to see if Chicago can turn around the last time these teams met when the Wraiths won 20-9 at Chicago.[/div]

On a similar, yet different note, the Butchers can manage to chop the competition in front of them, but it definitely will not be easy. The schedule in front of them is not easy with 67% of their schedule away from home against fairly difficult teams. Only one team can't jazz with the rest of the Chicago team's difficulty so they may already have a win to get (barring any more crazy sim problems or issues). It will be interesting to see if the Butchers can take the heat from the Wraiths. However, the Butchers still have a guaranteed place in the NSFC championship at the least.[/div]

Remember when the Hawks once were the team you saw in the banner? A shining example of the highest competition available in the NSFL that teams were afraid of going up against. The golden birds of Baltimore have had their wings clipped by better competition as of late. The Hawks somehow have slipped into a sub .500 record despite the stats showing a better team than what they have. Unfortunately for the Hawks, they have been the victim of the "someone has to lose the game" motto for competitive sports. Despite all the negatives, the Hawks could still surprise and sneak away a spot from an unsuspecting Butchers or Wraiths team if they can remain strong.

The bell of the end times has been rung for the S17 Liberty. Somehow the once reliable Philly team has dropped a total of five games in a row with an exciting loss to the Colorado Yeti in week five. The offense and defense in the City of Brotherly Love has been abysmal with the only hope being in the passing game which remains in the middle of the pack. There is not much hope for the Liberty to turn things around so quickly in the remaining weeks to make their way into the playoffs. The best hope is to wait for S18 and try again.[/div]

Fellow NSFC bottom dweller, the Colorado Yeti have had a crazier season than most probably predicted. Somehow they managed to win two games back-to-back to prove that their aren't the worst team in the NSFL this season. Did they keep that streak alive? No. Do they have chances at making the Ultimus? Not this season. Do they still have their GM? Sadly, no. But things are looking up for the Yeti with the rookies developing nicely in Colorado.
