Hi there, I’m your host Charismatic White Guy back from his break for reasons I can’t legally say on the air and today I have some future football stars who would I shall be interviewing tonight on ?????orts center, here on ?????espn. This will be the last time these young players get a private interview with someone.
Up first we have San Antonio Running Back Mathias Hanyadi who is here today to answer some great questions.
(Host)
“So, the draft is almost here. Your time in SA is complete unless you decide to stay down and train the youngins. What are you going to miss the most about the DSFL and it’s class?”
(Hanyadi)
“I think I'll miss how close knit we were down here. The NSFL is so much bigger than the DSFL, and a lot of us are gonna fall out of contact which saddens me a lot.”
(Host)
“You’re gonna be paired up with at least 2 other S18 stars, who are you looking forward to getting to team up with the most and why?”
(Hanyadi)
“Man, I dunno. There's a lot of places where we could all go and it's all up in the air. I'd like to run with Ruff again, as unlikely as that is, and running with Toriki sounds like it would be a fun time as well.”
(Host)
“No one knows which team you’ll be going to and whether or not you’ll finally get to be the first string runner, so for which team you get drafted to how quickly are you looking to be a starter”
(Hanyadi)
“Obviously I want to start as quickly as possible, I think everyone wants that. No one wants to just keep riding the bench season after season, so my hope is to be the starter in 2-3 seasons. It all depends on where I go, though.”
(Host)
“When the time comes for you to start how big are your goals gonna be? Are you trying to be as big as Marquise Brown or do you want to be part of a 1-2 system like with San Antonio”
(Hanyadi)
“I think a 2 back system works really well for me, and there are a ton of good backs that can be that #2. So I wouldn't be opposed to being a sole back, I'd prefer a running back by committee though.”
(Host)
“People have been saying that you keep raising your draft stock more and more, where do you think you’ll be going on draft day in a few days and where do you hope to go?”
(Hanyadi)
“After looking it over, I think my likely landing spot is the Liberty. I think Ruff and Toriki end up going in the first round and that leaves a lot of teams without a potential running back. Philadelphia is one of those teams who needs one, and they pick first. I'd like to go wherever Ruff goes, he's an awesome teammate and I'll miss him if we get separated, but I don't think a team is going to get both the #2 and #3 running backs on the board.”
(Host)
“What team do you think is going to do the best next season just because of the draft”
(Hanyadi)
“Hard to say right now. I think NOLA has a chance to rebound hard with 2 picks in the first round, Yellowknife is only going to get stronger, the Otters just came off an Ultimus win, its hard to say. I think we'll have a better idea after the draft.”
(Host)
“Lastly, what time do you think is on its way down to being the new Colorado and is going to have to Rebuild for a few seasons?”
(Hanyadi)
“That's a tough one. I know this seems a bit odd, but Baltimore mortgaged their future away for an Ultimus run. And with a draft class this deep in talent, it's gonna be a long time before we see a class like this again.”
(Host)
“Thank you for your time on this interview and good luck with your career. Up next we will have another Running back Prospect this time from the Norfolk Seawolves. Please welcome Marcella T?riki. So Marcella how much have you enjoyed your time in the DSFL and how much do you think you’ll value it?”
(Marcella)
“I've loved my time in the DSFL. It's been a great opportunity for me to grow into the league, as well as to really connect with my rookie class. We played hard on and off the field, and those moments stick with you. I'll be looking back on my DSFL days with pride for the rest of my life. These days have been so incredibly valuable for me as a person and as a player.”
(Host)
“So, the draft is almost here. Your time in Norfolk is complete unless you decide to stay down and train the youngins. What are you going to miss the most about the DSFL and it’s class?”
(Marcella)
“I'm the kind of person that puts a lot of pressure on themselves to perform. The DSFL, for me, was full of people that helped me remember that things aren't always so serious, and it's okay to step back and laugh at yourself sometimes. That goofy yet supportive environment is something that feels uniquely DSFL, and I'm going to miss that.”
(Host)
“You’re gonna be paired up with at least 3 other S18 stars, who are you looking forward to getting to team up with the most and why?”
(Marcella)
“There are so many gems in this class that it's hard to pick favorites. But I've been a fan of Fuzzy Dotson since our prospect bowl days together. He's a great kid and such a hard worker. I wouldn't mind landing somewhere with Franchet either. Now there's a dude that knows how to have a good time. But, despite the great team-ups to come, it's all a little bit bittersweet for me. Bjørn Ironside and I have been on the same team since the beginning, and I know that this draft is more than likely going to separate us.”
(Host)
“You’ve had a really high draft stock for a while and it keeps on rising. Where do you think you’ll be going in the draft and where?”
(Marcella)
“I could see so many things happening. Teams have definitely taken notice of me, but not every team needs a running back. I know Yellowknife does, and I have to imagine I'm high on their boards. Why not take the best back available with pick seven? If they don't bite, I could see someone like Arizona picking me up at 8. Either way, I don't expect to fall out of the first round.”
(Host)
“When the time comes for you to start how big are your goals gonna be? Are you trying to be as big as Marquise Brown or do you want to be part of a 1-2 system like how San Antonio did this past season with Hanyadi and Ruff?”
(Marcella)
“I’ve basically been running solo for my tenure with Norfolk. I’m not going to turn down a situation where I’ve got a bit of help. But I know that I have the star power to be the next great. I want to hold records and o want to contribute to an ultimus win. My goal is simply to be the best. To make Marcella T?riki a name people remember for all time.”
(Host)
“What team do you think is going to do the best next season just because of the draft”
(Marcella)
“For the NSFC, I see potential problems for Chicago. They're missing out on some key picks for this draft, and you can't get too far without some fresh blood. In the ASFC, I don't know that we'll see them fall all the way down, but I don't think we see another Ultimus win for OCO. They'll put up a fight, but with Baltimore and NOLA on the rise, I don't think they'll be able to stay on top.”
(Host)
“Very unique saying Baltimore will rise with nearly 0 picks. I like it. Last question coming up. If there is any player in S18 that you think is a sleeper pick, who is it?”
(Marcella)
“There are a few out there in my mind. But close to my heart is Marlo Smart. My Norfolk linebacker hasn't picked up as much notice as he deserves. But he's an excellent guy to have in the locker room, and he gives his all for the team. I think whoever lands him in the draft is going to be very very happy with him.”
(Host)
“Thank you for your time in this interview and good luck in the draft, next coming up is Kansas City Coyotes Line Backer, Net Gaines who is looking to continue his prowess. So, you just had a great year playing defense for the Kansas City Coyotes, what do you see next in your career? Do you want to become a DSFL legend or take your shot in the big leagues?”
(Gaines)
“I defiantly want to take the next step to the NSFL I think im more then ready to compete at the next level”
(Host)
“This season saw a lot of league legends and vets get hit hard by regression, like Line Backer Vander Jones. Where do you think you see yourself going in this draft in about 4 Days?”
(Gaines)
“I really dont know I got a lot of interest from a bunch of diffrent teams. If I had to guess I think in the top of the first round”
(Host)
“S18 saw a lot of potential generational talent that may never be seen again, who else that’s not part of Kansas City would you love to see yourself become teammates with and why?”
(Gaines)
“Abernathy and virtanen is some guys I want to be teammates with in the future for sure. They both are great to have in a lockeroom and very talentedl
(Host)
“Anyone not part of KCC?”
(Gaines)
“Anyone in this s18 class I would love to play with. This is a great class in general”
(Host)
“What team do you believe is going to be on the rise, and what team do you think is on its downfall”
(Gaines)
“I think the copperheads could make a good push this year. They have the talent so I expect for a playoff push. For downfall I dont think chicago is going to do as good as last season”
(Host)
“Some great answers, I’ll see you in the nsfl. Next up we have Star QB Jay Cue who is one of the best QB prospects in a while, So, SJS just cleared up their best need on the team and now you have no idea where you are going. If anything what team do you see yourself going to?”
(Cue)
“Yeah, SJS was one of the big possibilities, but they went another way. So, this leaves 2 teams: Arizona and Philly. Those are the ones that aren't really needing a QB right away, but definitely need to consider sucession for the next couple of seasons. So, from a playing point of view, i can see them picking me. But, on the other hand, some other team might not want to pass on a generational talent like Jay Cue and surprise everyone, making this draft so hard to predict. And, tbh, i would love to be picked by a team with the sole purpose of trading me for picks to the next drafts.”
(Host)
“What would you like to say to your teammates at Portland as you may have just played your last game with your teammates”
(Cue)
“To be honest, i don't think i played my last game in Portland. Even though Philly and Arizona have QB's losing some abilities, they are still fantastic players, so i still need to wait my chance. And the DSFL gets me playing time, while i bank TPE to go to the majors and be an impact .”
(Host)
“Well what I meant was that a lot of your teammates are going up right away so you may never play with them. Next question, what players that weren’t part of Portland are you most interested in playing with again in the pros when it’s your shot”
(Cue)
“Oh shit lol i messed up the question”
(Host)
“Nah you’re good. You just answered it in a different way”
(Cue)
“I have a lot of players that i would love to play with on the NSFL, mainly all the active discord ones from S18. I won't name them all, but in my book, a S18 player is a good player.”
(Host)
“You’ve had a huge draft stocks, the best for a QB since Franklin Armstrong himself and it just keeps flying up more and more, what round do you think you’ll be going on draft day in a few days and where do you hope to go?”
(Cue)
“Looking at Franklin, he was picked on the 3rd round, 28th pick, and that's pretty strange considering he was great in the DSFL and now we see him doing very well im the NSFL. But this is the game we havez QBs aren't the main need for teams, as they only need 1, so they normally pick other positions first. I'm trying to emulate Franklins career in a way, so i'm thinking i might be picked also in the 3rd round because it makes sense by looking at the talent S18 has.”
(Host)
“A lot of teams are obviously on their way up the supremacy ladder and are looking to do even greater things, what team do you believe will do the best just from the draft”
(Cue)
“Looking at the number of picks they have on a vey deep draft on actives, some young players they already have on the roster, NOLA can use this draft to build for the future.”
(Host)
“Final question. On the opposite end there are multiple teams who are looking like they are towards the end of their franchise status and might fall to the bottom. Which teams do you think have the best chance of falling”
(Cue)
“It's always hard to predict someone falling. Even with regression on some players, teams remain pretty strong. Besides, we all know that the sim itself can be a little unpredictable, so there's really no way to say that some teams might fall”
(Host)
“Your time in this interview has been valued, when the time comes I’ll be excited to see you play QB. Next up we have super star DT Bjørn Ironside who is the best prospect in this draft. So, you’ve been wildly regarded as the best prospect all season, not everyone is buying it specifically older vets. Do you buy on the hype for your draft or do you think people are over reacting?”
(Ironside)
“Honestly my own draft position is never really something I've focused on. I just do me. I work my tail off because I want to be the best version of me. I want to change the league, I want to shape the world around me and that is only done by being the best version of yourself. Where does that land me in the draft? It doesn't matter to me because I'll keep on ticking and do what I do regardless of where I fall. Now my friends? The buddies I made along the way? I'm much more concerned with where they land. They're all great guys in this class and they all deserve the world. I hope they end up where they want to be and I can't wait to see who I get to play with at the next level.”
(Host)
“So out of all of S18 but not including your teammates from Norfolk who are you most interested in teaming up with for the first time? You should get paired up with at least 3 since you know who has a lot of picks again”
(Ironside)
“"There are so many incredible players in this draft that it is hard to know where to begin. There is a ton of defensive talent that I feel like I'd be honored to share a field with. Maurice Virtanen is up there. I know he gets picked early, so there is little chance of that but the guy is an athletic freak. Then there is Thudd Kassel and Zach Hall, two guys I've gotten to know very well and I think we could make for an exciting locker room. Then you have talents like Net Gaines, Korrin Abernathy, and Louisiana Purchase who are all top tier guys who are impact players who I think will do great things in this league. And those are just the top six guys on the defensive side. If we dove into the other side, we could be sitting here talking all day."
(Host)
“There were a LOT of questionable trades these last couple seasons and it’s obvious that some teams are gonna take a win in their win counts. What teams do you think are about to take the biggest hit and why?”
(Ironside)
“I think Chicago is the most obvious choice here. Muford and Oles were both great guys and they traded away Chicago's future for a win now opportunity. They set themselves up for early success and it almost worked. They very nearly pulled off a first season championship and then followed it up with a solid season two. Now that championship window has closed and they have no one to fall back on. The only two promising things that they had come from these last couple seasons were Sam Torenson and Blake Faux. Both were active, young, incredible players that Chicago could have built a team around eventually. But now they've been traded away as well. They had a core piece on both offense and defense to rebuild around, but they traded both of them away. This was a move that also caused one of their young defensive stars in Lightsout Lewis to leave in free agency as well. With only a second round this season and only three players left on their roster younger than S15, I don't know that they recover in the near future.”
(Host)
“Now on the other end of the spectrum there are also teams that have huge potential in the 18th season of this league, what team do you believe will make a playoff run that didn’t last season”
(Ironside)
“Right now I feel like there are two potential candidates. With Joliet Christ leaving San Jose, I can see them having a drop in production this season and I think it is perfect timing for either Austin or New Orleans. Both teams have very solid young cores on their rosters and aren't facing massive amounts of immediate regression. Neither made it last season, but both showed improvements as the season went on and their players were able to develop. I think the difference between these two teams will be on whichever team has the stronger S18 draft class and even then it will be a tight race to the top. Their head to heads will be essential and will likely decide which team squeezes in and which doesn't. Both teams have a lot to be excited about and you can't go wrong picking either as your dark horse.”
(Host)
“If you go to where everyone thinks you’ll be going to you will be most likely playing as the second Defensive Tackle so there will be some formations you’ll be playing out of position. Do you believe this fits you or do you want to be THE guy?”
(Ironside)
“I've always considered myself a versatile guy. I feel like I've built myself up to have a solid mixture of both strength and speed that should set me up for success regardless of where I play on the defensive line. I've never been the type of guy to demand to be in one spot. Wherever the coaches decide they need me to make an impact, put me there and I'll make an impact. I'm just here to win games and I could care less what that means when it comes to where I line up.”
(Host)
“Two more questions, there are so many player that have the potential to be a first rounder or high second. What player that isn’t a 100% first rounder do you believe can sneak in unexpectedly?”
(Ironside)
“There are a lot of fringe guys that I think can sneak in pretty easy. Guys like Bender Rodriguez and Ruff Ruff come to mind. Even Jake Watson is a guy who I don't have in the first in my current predictions. Marlo Smart is an incredibly talented linebacker, I think there is a chance he slips in if people get desperate once these guys start coming off the board. It is a deep draft class and anything can happen at the back end of the first round.”
(Host)
“Lastly, Oh, no! You've been exposed to radiation, and a mutated hand has grown out of your stomach! What's the best course of treatment?
A bullet to the brain
Large doses of anti-mutagen agent
Prayer. Maybe God will spare you in exchange for a life of pious devotion.
Removal of the mutated tissue with a precision laser”
(Ironside)
“None of the above. It's another hand. Is it operational? If that thing works, a third hand can give me an edge that no one else has. That seems like a game breaking advantage right there and I'd be all for it. Besides, who hasn't needed an extra hand at least once in their life?”
(Host)
“Logical but not the answer I was looking for. Thank you for your time here and good luck in the future. Last host of this special event is Defensive End Zach Hall let’s give him a warm welcome, So the first question I’m gonna ask you is an obvious one, when you decided to switch from a Tight End to a Defensive End what was going through your mind and who helped you make this choice?”
(Hall)
“Well I didnt feel like I was having the results I wanted as a TE to be able to have the impact on the league like I wanted. As my stats shown I never got into the endzone and was second in TEs in receiving yards. I wanted to be on top but as I got deeper into the season I wasn't enjoying what I was doing. So one day Bubba Thumper stopped me after a game and talked to me about my future. I saw the presence he gave off as a young star defensive lineman and that's what I wanted to be. He worked with me to break down my mechanics as a pass rusher and worked with me in the gym to bulk up for the position.”
(Host)
”So out of all of S18 but not including your teammates from PB who are you most interested in teaming up with for the first time? You should get paired up with at least one and that’s only if Baltimore trades up to you”
(Hall)
“I would love to play with anyone from this class, they've all been great friends that I've met since the prospect bowl. My top 3 have to Be Bjørn, Thudd and Marcella. They are superstars in our sport so who wouldn't want to play with them? I'd also love to play alongside Franchet and Virtanen on the same defense.”
(Host)
“Question 3, You discover a young boy lost in the lower levels of the Vault. He's hungry and frightened, but also appears to be in possession of stolen property. What do you do?
Give the boy a hug and tell him everything will be okay - Speech
Confiscate the property by force, and leave him there as punishment - Unarmed
Pick the boy's pocket to take the stolen property for yourself, and leave the boy to his fate - Sneak
Lead the boy to safety, then turn him over to the overseer - Nothing”
(Hall)
“I'm giving him the hug. The kid is definitely going through a hard time with the world being a wasteland and all. Hes probably starving and wants to sell the item he stole so he can feed himself and his little sister that he is taking care of alone by himself.”
(Host)
“Question 4.There are so many potential 1st rounders this draft that you never know who is gonna slip in, what players do you think will find a way in and why?”
(Hall)
“I Think Jake Dropson is one of those "will he, wont he" kinda guys. I personally think hes trash and shouldn't even be in the draft but there are teams out there that want someone who can't catch that way they can take the blame off of their overrated quarterback when they underperform.”
(Host)
“There was a lot of, interesting trades this next season that might have messed up the future of their franchise, what 2 teams do you see falling to the bottom of the conference”
(Hall)
“Chicago's trades where definitely head scratchers. They look to be starting a rebuild that's going to have them fighting for 1oa next season. Baltimore also looks to be struggling since they don't have any early picks in this years draft. Maybe they'll be able to grab some big free agents and make a run but right now they look to be a team heading the wrong direction”
(Host)
“On the other end there are a few teams that have a huge chance of making a run for the ultimus, what teams do you think have the best chance just from this years draft”
(Hall)
“Well OCO has to be a favorite. They won it last season and then get 2 picks in the top 10, one of which is the 3rd overall. They had an amazing season and will only get better after this draft and I don't know how you don't put them as a favorite to win.”
(Host)
“There are hundreds of veterans in this league, which one do you look most forward to playing with as either a mentor or an opponent?”
(Hall)
“There are so many veteran guys that I've met in my short time here and I think I'd really like to play with some of the mentors that helped me. Thumper, Ennis, Gump, or Jimbo. Really any of those guys would be amazing to play with.”
(Host)
“I like that Attitude, thank you hall for your time here. Well everyone that’s all we have time for here at ?????orts Center as the DSFL rookies prepare for the 1st Annual Send Off Bowl. Good luck to all rookies tonight and in the draft”
Up first we have San Antonio Running Back Mathias Hanyadi who is here today to answer some great questions.
