It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these, but after a busy few weeks of making (and losing) my first Ultimus and becoming coGM in Portland I thought it’d be a good time to do another.
1) Like last offseason, we’ve been going all in on free agents but just haven’t been successful. It’s tough because I know first hand how good the Hawks LR is and how we have good, active members. I still trust in our new GMs to bring in talent in a loaded draft.
2) I enjoy the Pythons! They welcomed me in immediately. We have some a good active core that I think can be built on.
3) We have the best QB in the league, a good history, and active users.
4) Yea, my first visit to Portland you guys were dragging Toasty’s cold lifeless body out of there.
1) 100%. I haven’t minded not getting the numbers the past few seasons, but it’ll be nice to get a bit more notice around the league with my play. At the end of the day though I just want to compete with the Hawks for another Ultimus.
2) That’s a good question... as I’ve been saying before, the newest Hawks are from S15 (sure we got Renrut but he’s a Hawk legend already) so I think getting some new faces in the LR will help a lot. Though during the season the LR seemed pretty active.
3) This is a really good question. I’d say there’s no need to be overwhelmed if everything doesn’t make sense at first. It took me awhile to get used to who everyone was and especially how to earn TPE consistently. I might not have been a top earner my first 2 seasons but if you keep with it it will all come together. I mean I was a 9th round pick. Can’t start out much worse than that.
1) I’d be lying to say I wasn’t excited. This defense has some good pieces. Hopefully I can raise to their level and compete to be one of the best Ds in the league.
2) I definitely would be open to that. Apparently it’s helped the Wraiths defense because they are stacked. Also, I was in Norfolk at Leaf-Cola’s beginning.
3) Honestly with the sim, anything is possible. I’d like to think we’re a top 3 team in the league so I think we definitely can compete but we’ll have to remain active and maybe get lucky in the draft.
