This announcement is one that is at the same time incredibly exciting and extremely difficult to make. I have been a proud member of the San Antonio Marshals organization since I entered this league three seasons ago; first as a player, then as an intern, and now as general manager. The history of our franchise, in particular the people who have been through our locker room, are an extremely important part of my experience with the league. Each and every one of those individuals has helped create one of the greatest football cultures in either league, full stop, and I cannot express enough how proud I am to have been a member of the San Antonio Marshals organization.
That said, my co-GM @Revolution5 and I have thought long and hard, and we have decided it is time for a change. This was not an easy decision, nor is it one we took lightly. We have, since roughly the trade deadline last season, been spitballing ideas back and forth, trying to find a way to leave not only this team, but the league as a whole, better from what we establish here today. And, as of about noon today, we were approved for relocation and rebranding of our franchise.
We will never forget the history that we had in San Antonio. Every single player that has been a member of this team, every victory we shared, every loss we suffered, is and always will be a part of our history and culture that we reflect on with great fondness. The green and tan are far from forgotten. However, we will now be flying under a new banner of blue and grey. I am admittedly quite nervous, but also extremely excited, to introduce to the league, the Minnesota Grey Ducks.
