Fresh off of an Ultimini victory after his first full season in the DSFL, Kacey Dream decides to break his normal media silence before the draft. Anticipated to be a top draft pick after his stellar rookie season, he usually lets his game speak for him. However, in the midst of a tumultuous off-season he has decided to field questions from the media for the first time. The floor is yours.
As much as I know you love Portland, the best team in the DSFL was easily Palm Beach and for many reasons. There is the fact that they took a chance and picked me up off of waivers when others didn't. Plus it could always be Norfolk, yuck. And then they built a statue in my honor after I left which is now all that remains of their stadium. The most obvious reason though is the mascot. How on earth can you get any better than a bear in sunglasses? It has to be the coolest, chillest mascot I could imagine. Speaking of which, I got Ray_bans for Buttercup, Bernhardt, and Geoffrey.
I expect a hectic draft with a mad scramble at the top since the class is so small. I deserve to be drafted top 2 easily if not the first overall. However I don't expect to be since there are a lot of talented players in the draft and teams have different needs.
Well obviously the teams I would be most excited to play for are the successful ones so YKW and OCO would both be amazing places to land! After that I think Philly and Austin seem like really strong up and comers that could easily be contenders soon. Oh and I guess NOLA would be ok too.
Well we have a really amazing class in S19, there are several players that I would love to play with from my class such as Austin McCormick, Sweet James-Jones and Sean O'Leary. However, if I had to pick just one it would be my boy Quindarius Tyerucker. We've already worked together a few times for charity and I'll tell you, not only is that guy fast he is a standup dude.
I mean, have you seen my pinups? Like the one where I take my shirt off? The easier question would be why ISN'T Kacey so Dreamy. And there is no answer to that. Next question
This is something that I've had a talk about with several GMs. As I told them, I would be willing to play Safety, Linebacker or Nickel for a team if they needed me. Though cornerback is definitely my best role I know I could succeed anywhere on the field and I'm a team player first.
I saw some good ass wideouts this year, including in practice. But the best wide receiver I saw this year was definitely Sweet James-Jones. While I had good games against Myrtle Beach, he always seemed to burn me at least one or two plays a game. I'm sure I'll see him again on the gridiron for a rematch though.
There are a lot of good players in the league but the one I look up to the most is definitely Johnny Snuggles. I mean, we all saw what the YKW secondary did in the playoffs and this is the man it starts with. I hope I can be as clingy as he is one day man.
Again there were a lot of great moments this year, I really want to say my pick 6 against Myrtle Beach or how I shocked everyone by showing up out of nowhere and dominating the league. But the best moment was definitely bringing that Ultimini home to Portland, that's one I'll savor for a while.
My time in Portland has been amazing, thank you guys! I can't believe we managed to pull of the Ultimini win, it's been a great ride and I hope that success continues.
The only thing I would say to make the overall experience a little better is maybe get the rooks a little more active in the locker room. It was awesome on game days and in spurts but I definitely took a bit to get used to it. We definitely warmed up after a while but I know some locker rooms have games like pokemon or random GMs coming in and interacting with the players, maybe something like that to just help the rooks come out of their shells a little more. Overall though I think you guys did an awesome job and it was a kick ass experience!
Oh Saba, coo coo kerchoo. You were my favorite GM because you're like the fun goofy uncle that you go to the casino with for the first time and they gamble away all your drafts picks, I mean college savings.
Meanwhile Huskies is my favorite GM cause he is like the cool responsible parent who helps get your money back and leads you to a championship.
