[div align=\\\"center\\\"]Our analysts will be reviewing the biggest underperformers of the season 1 draft. These players aren't necessarily bad: they just haven't performed up to the level that they were drafted in.[/div]
Reg Mackworthy-Arizona Outlaws
Mackworthy, the number seven pick in the inaugural draft, is part of possibly the best running back tandem in the NSFL. He and Jack Durden have combined for over 1000 yards on the season. However, Mackworthy has definitely not lived up to his potential as a number seven pick; whether or not he starts is up for debate(Durden has ten more carries than Mackworthy) and even if he does, he hasn't kept up with the leagues other top running backs. Mackworthy was the first running back off the board, yet is only 7th in rushing yards for all backs. Mackworthy also only has one pitiful touchdown on the season. His 4.4 yards per carry are one of the few bright spots for the rookie back, along with his pass catching. Nevertheless, no one expects the first running back taken off the board to end up taking the back seat behind a 13th round pick.
Greg Taylor-San Jose Sabercats
Taylor can share the blame in what has been a disappointing first season for the Sabercats. The third pick of the fourth round(21st overall) has been a complete letdown in his first season. Taylor is ninth among defensive ends in tackles with only 29, which is less than half of what Teagarden, the top defensive end has. Taylor pairs his disappointing 29 tackles with a meager three sacks which ties him with two other players for second to last in sacks. Taylor has been one of the biggest busts this season, showing a lack of effort and indifference.
Luke Tiernan-Colorado Yeti
Tiernan's career started off with huge potential after being picked as Colorado's first running back, however, the Yeti's fourth pick and number 22 overall has been a letdown for Colorado. Boss Tweed and Kieran O'Connell have both established themselves as the top running backs for the Yeti, leaving Tiernan to get few reps. Tiernan only has 99 rushing attempts along with only 369 yards. He averages only 3.7 yards per carry, though the other Yeti backs average similar numbers. Tiernan may have similar talent to O'Connell and Tweed, however for one reason or another he has been unable to find the field.
Khalifa Al Mahrouqi-Baltimore Hawks
Al Mahrouqi has had one of the weirdest seasons of all players on this list. On June 26th, Mahrouqi decided that it was in his best interests to retire from the NSFL as soon as the league ends, stating that he will no longer be practicing with the team and only participating in games in order to receive all of his contract money. Perhaps he decided to retire due to his lack of success in the league. The 20th overall pick so far has been very disappointing. He only has 50 tackles which makes him the 16th ranked linebacker out of 19. He also only has two sacks on the season. Al Mahrouqi's lackluster performance and off the field issues make him the first official bust with no hopes of turning his career around.
DJ Law-Colorado Yeti
Law is similar to Mackworthy in that both have had good seasons but haven't performed up to the level of where they were picked in the draft. Law, the 10th overall pick and 4th wide receiver taken, only has 578 receiving yards on the season, placing him 12th among all receivers. He also only has 45 catches, placing him 15th in receptions. Usually, GM's expect their second pick to be one of the best players on the field, however Law isn't even on the top receiver on his team, behind Hendrix by additional 20 catches and over 200 yards. While Law has shown he can still help the team, he hasn't shown he can live up to the expectations of a second round pick.
