Hey, y'all. Thanks for having me. Please ask away. Thanks for coming.
Thanks for the question. I noticed a lot of teams ask this. Straight up, I'm looking to be the best I can be and help my teammates be the best they can be so we win. I'm going to get in people's heads, be physical, put myself in position to get our team the ball and score with it. I wanna win. The only defensive backs that I really care about are my teammates. And I want the best guys on my defense; that's gonna get Ws and put us in position to win. All these guys talking extra noise.. Don't get me wrong. I've never been called quiet. But I'm not here to stir up the pot just for fun. That's not me. I got a plan for what I'm doing. So to give you my answer, I'm the best cornerback that I can be. Any team who gets me will get a big, physical guy who can do whatever they want from a defensive back and contribute to winning.
You know, the dude who's game I really like is Deon Taylor. He's just been so electric for his team. He makes plays. His team has had a tough time, and he's still been there. The Second Line hasn't really competed for him like he has for them. I know the game is tough, but I just really like HIS game. When you get your hands on the ball, you change the game. As a cornerback, thats the biggest thing we can do for a team. And he really did that. You know, being from the South is something special. Its a different kind of game out there than the rest of the country. Its dirty. Sometimes you just tryna survive. And to be out there, like he was.. that's big.
Food.. I love food. I know I'm pretty skinny, though. I've found food to have a major impact on my performance, so I typically eat pretty healthy. Typical pre-game is lean meat, veggies, some pasta or rice. I was just talking about this recently. I love to eat, but regular, healthy nutrition is important. I don't even like it much, to be honest. But, man, it makes me feel so much... lighter. Afterwards, though... I gotta get something sweet. Its my Achilles' heal. Its a family joke, because of our last name. Usually its ice cream. But I keep a stash of candy in my desk, too. Snickers and Skittles.
I'm coming in fresh and looking for an opportunity. I'm open to the best place available. I've spoken with a few teams, it this league has been a good experience. People are helpful. I'm looking for a place that can help me be the best I can be. I want to win, and that's number one. I want a place that will show me the ropes and trust me to do what needs to be done. Hopefully, there's a team that will take a chance on me. That's all I'm looking for.
You might think as a cornerback, I get asked this question more often. People have been asking me what I think about other cornerbacks, and I don't have anything to say. They aren't my competition. But these wide outs? Let's go to work. This is a big class, so there's a ton of guys out there. Mike Lee is one of the first names that jumps out. The pedigree is so strong there. You gotta respect it. You also gotta watch out for Terrel Brister, though. He's doing a ton of work out here and got a lot of support. But there's a bunch of players. Cash Jr., William Lim, Despacito. There's a lot of talented guys out there. We've got our hands full. That's how we like it. Iron sharpens iron.
Man, really? That's easy. You know us corners, we gotta be the at the top. You have no space NOT to think you're the best. Otherwise, you're getting worked. Guys will beat you to a pulp if you don't know you're gonna win. But I'll take that W. I, obviously, had a bad game, but that's not the focus. I won't play that poorly next week, I will be helping my team win. If that happens, it means my teammates balled out and picked me up. Next week, I pick them up. Both weeks, we leave with the win and keep it pushing. Team. Family. Its bigger than me.
My biggest strength is my flexibility. On the field, I can go wherever the team needs. I remember in high school, I was on the same team as one of the safeties coming out, Buck Thornton. There was this TE, just causing problems. I'm telling my coach, "Put me on him! I'll shut him down!" Meanwhile, Buck is saying the same thing. I'll go wherever I'm needed. Off the field, I'm about the team. I'm trying to help us get better, whether that means earning TPE or finding ways to help myself and my teammates make money. I'll do whatever is needed.
I want to be surrounded by the best guys. Iron sharpens iron. I'll get better when I'm surrounded by better players. And I'll help them get better. But, really. Personally, my dude Buck Thornton and I go way back. He's an absolute monster, and any team would benefit if they have him. He's a monster in the run game. As a corner, he makes my life easier because corners get real short arms when he's patrolling the middle. They don't want to stretch out and catch a hot one from Buck. It also allows me to play certain ways, knowing that he's got his assignment locked down. But there's a ton of talent in the DSFL and NSFL, especially with this big class. There's a CB, Oles, who's a monster. Being across from him, I know my job is a little easier. Thubba Bumper, dude is mad talented and obviously ready to make an impact in the league.

What's your typical pre-game meal?

Any Receivers you’re relishing the chance to go up against at the next level?

What is your biggest strength coming into the DSFL?
Are there any other players you would love to team up with in the secondary?
