Hey everyone it’s me Susan Cash.Jr. For those of you who don’t know me I am a WR in the upcoming DSFL Draft. I’ve been down in Miami for the past few days preparing for the Prospect Bowl. In that time I’ve had the opportunity to speak to most (but not all) of my teammates. Below are my first impressions on this team. Overall I think with a roster this talented we have a half decent chance of winning this whole thing. (If I’ve gotten any details wrong or If I’ve missed you just let me know and I’ll fix it.)
Suleiman Razma QB: I’ve been very impressed with our pair of QB’s. “Sully” as I call him has proven to be a very intelligent and hardworking individual. Since we’ve arrived he’s been focusing on getting faster and stronger.
Colby Jack: Colby’s reputation precedes him. Him and his brother are expected to go either first or second in the draft. That’s a lot of pressure on a man and that pressure has trickled down to the rest of us. These games could make or break his chances of going 1st overall and nobody here wants to be the one that let’s him down because they dropped a pass or couldn’t protect him from the pass rush. He’s the glue that’s holding our offense together.
J.B. Apollo: He’s a bit of a tough guy. I watch him in practices and he just charges in there full speed every single time. He’s quiet though all I really know about his personal life is that he’s from Ohio.
Draymond Brooks: Haven’t had a chance to speak with him yet.
Brent Blackmon: Haven’t had a chance to speak with him yet.
Zee Rechs: Fun fact about our pair of tight ends. They both attended Texas A&M together. Zee likes to keep to himself most of the time and I’ll be honest it’s kind of hard to get a read on him.
Deshun Jones: So it turns out I actually know Deshun. I played a couple of games against him in highschool. We’ve never actually interacted in any meaningful capacity before this though. Hell we never actually spent much time on the field together. He was a second string cornerback for most of his highschool career, and I was a second string QB for most of mine. It just goes to show how small the world really is.
Matthew Curran: Haven’t had a chance to speak with him yet.
Tristan Gronlin: I first met Tristan shortly after I had declared for the draft. He gave me some excellent advice that has really helped me throughout this whole process. That really sums up Tristan's whole personality in a nutshell. He always has some sage wisdom to disperse, or a positive comment to pick you up. He really just wants you to be your best self and that’s an incredibly helpful trait to have in a teammate.
Will-Barry Underground: Will is another guy that’s just impossible for me to get a read on. The one thing I do know is that he seems to enjoy his job a little too much if you know what I mean. I understand taking pride in your work but I pity the poor QB that gets lit up by Mr. Underground.
Frank Ngyuen: Me and Frank had a brief conversation on the difficulty of being left handed in a right handed world. And while ordinary people may not understand the pain and trauma us lefties must endure I know that Frank understands and that’s enough for me.
Michael Smydzyck: Haven’t had a chance to speak with him yet.
Tom Thorn: Haven’t had a chance to speak with him yet.
Devaunte Sackpieder: Dev as he likes to be called is a family man through and through. He speaks often and fondly of his mother, his sister, and his step father. He told me that his step dad passed away of a rare medical condition when he was young but that he still guides him to this day. I don’t really know what he means by that but I do know that he’s an excellent linebacker and really that’s all I need to know.
Zamir Kehla: Zamir is one of a handful of people on this team that I met before coming down to Miami. He’s a damn good Cornerback with a big mouth and even bigger attitude. I've had to line up against him a lot during practice and let me tell you he treats every snap like it’s in the final two minutes of the Ultimus. He’s gonna go far in this league but if he doesn’t stop talking shit at practice the only thing he’s gonna catch are these hands.
Brandon Booker: Booker is almost the exact opposite of Zamir. Where Zamir shouts Booker whispers, while Zamir will taunt you into making a mistake Booker let’s think everything is going well up until he sneaks in for the interception. His approach to the game is analytical almost cold. I’m just glad he’s on our side.
Alex Ingram: Haven’t had a chance to speak with him yet.
Matt Cross: The “Son of Havoc” as he likes to be called is quite the character. He has participated in a variety of sports including wrestling and track. He’s a big ball of positivity and energy, seemingly always on the move, always ready to step up and make a play. He’s said that he tries to model his playstyle on Tyrann Mathieu and honestly it’s pretty close. He went to ASU with Booker so they have great on field chemistry which is a huge bonus for us.
Dean Winchester: Haven’t had a chance to speak with him yet.
Thom Shaylor: So Thom actually announced that he is retiring before the draft. To continue his education. He will still play in the Prospect Bowl though. All I can say is that I applaud his decision to focus on school and wish him the best of luck.
Ronan McDonagh: Why would I ever talk to my kicker. Let’s not be ridiculous here.
Well there you go, I hope everyone enjoyed my write up. If you have any questions, comments or insults. please feel free. To share them below.
