How do y'all do this so frequently, I can barely write... I do be needing money tho:
#1 Birddogs - Monterey Jack, QB
Current TPE: 174
Rradum is currently the GM of the San Jose Sabercats, he is well known around the league and was a former simmer in the league. His presence is felt around the league and he is also well known for being active in the community. He’s a great pick here and someone the Birddogs can build around for a long time. For expansion teams (Norfolk last season, for example) top tier QBs are extremely important as they are players and people that would be sticking around the team for multiple seasons, unlike top earners at other positions. Hence, the Dallas Birddogs make the safe pick here and take a top tier earner who has history in the league as well as a sizeable bank account ($80M)
#2 Royals - Colby Jack, QB
Current TPE: 176
Only the second pick of the draft, and somehow still the second picked Jack of the draft, Colby Jack has already created a substantial amount of buzz surrounding his performance and natural charm with fans. Scoring in at 176 overall TPE, it’s no surprise that Colby was selected so early on. Already sponsored by the Chicago Butchers and receiving some training there, Colby Jack will have plenty of resources to train and improve his skills with some of the best players in the NSFL. We can expect Jack to make a dominant showing in his rookie season here for new London Royals.
#3 Pythons - Tyler Oles Jr, CB
Current TPE: 165
The prodigy son of Tyler Oles, the Jr is sure to be a promising draftee with a strong lifetime career in his future seasons. Already rocking a cool 165 TPE, Oles Jr is sure to make a splash on any team that picks him up. That said, the Portland Pythons were the lucky team to make the snag in the draft, and will surely be placing him in their primary lineup at Cornerback. An excellent pick overall, and sure to be one to keep an eye out throughout his DSFL season.
#4 Luchadores - Ben Slothlisberger, QB
Current TPE: 137
Word around the grapevine is that Slothlisberger was mentored personally by a well-known NOLA professional as a child. Whether that is true is yet to be confirmed, but the Tijuana Luchadores didn’t need to rely on rumors to make this selection. Slothlisberger displayed a mastery of his skills to their scouting team, enough to net him a 4th overall pick. The third quarterback to be selected, one has to wonder whether Tijuana had eyes on the Jack & Jack combo picked in the first two slots. Regardless, Slothlisberger is sure to make his own shockwave within the DSFL season.
#5 Coyotes - Phat Boi, DT
Current TPE: 187
Sporting an insane, draft class high TPE of 187, Phat Boi was the Kansas City Coyotes’ first pick in this draft, and also managed to secure the first overall Defensive Tackle pick. Although his Prospect Bowl team, the Baltimore Muleriders, was knocked out early on by Buffalo, Phat Boi has displayed a monstrous amount of power on the field, becoming a nearly unstoppable force in his position. Despite his large size, Boi has also shown off some quick feet for a player of his stature, and I’m sure with more training under the Kansas City coaches, he’ll be able to shape his raw power into a more focused blast at his opponents.
#6 Seawolves - Thubba Bumper, CB
Current TPE: 149
As my rookie team’s first selection in the draft, the Norfolk Seawolves chose Thubba Bumper to join the submarine squad. Bumper has already demonstrated some quick feet in the Prospect Bowl, and impressed the Seawolves’ scouting department in his college days as well. Bumper has also been reported to be an active member of the clubhouse, already connecting well with both rookies and veterans of the Seawolves. Despite his eagerness to play the game, he has already made the claim that if he does not achieve an interception in the first week of play, he will retire effective immediately. Time will tell if that remains true.
#7 Buccaneers - Johnny Hellzapoppin, S
Current TPE: 149
Johnny Hellzapoppin has made a serious impression on various people in the league in his short time here, he has already been named the DSFL simmer for the upcoming season and has been involved in the GFX giving some ideas for a new DSFL logo. The safety already had a sig in Myrtle Beach’s colors prior to the draft, making this pick even more perfect. Besides that, the last time the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers picked a safety in the first round I’d say it worked out pretty well, maybe they can hit another one out of the park here with Hellzapoppin at 7.
#8 GreyDucks - Buck Thornton, S
Current TPE: 149
A bit of a unique pick, Buck Thornton can be seen trotting around the field on his days off, running for hours. He’s been known to previously run marathons and decided to turn his love for running into a professional career within the DSFL. Drafted 8th overall by the Minnesota Grey Ducks, Thornton will be playing Safety, where he can use his excellent endurance to track down those pesky runners that make it through the first line defense. Although his sprint speed will need some work before attempting to make a break into the NSFL, his presence will certainly be an asset to the Grey Ducks for his rookie season with them.
#9 Royals - Derred de Ville, LB
Current TPE: 157
Selecting the first Linebacker of the draft class, the London Royals selected Derred de Ville. Known for his technological prowess, de Ville will certainly bring more to the team than just his presence on the field, through strategy and analysis. Despite this, de Ville has also demonstrated a willingness to perform well on the field, reportedly purchasing equipment for a full-size personal gym in his house to prepare for the upcoming season. With a large financial backing, Derred de Ville will be looking to play smart this season. Upcoming rookies may want to keep an eye on his training regimen for inspiration.
#10 Seawolves - Magnus Rikiya, DT
Current TPE: 149
Rikiya has already connected well with teammates among the Norfolk Seawolves, becoming one of the most central members of the already incredibly social clubhouse. Rikiya has also earned somewhat of a fan following, and seems to appreciate the attention since joining the league. Among social media, Rikiya can be seen working out extensively, developing muscle mass and occasional cardio. It remains to be seen whether this is driven by a passion for the game, or a passion for the perfect body.
#11 Pythons - Alexander Hamilton II, CB
Current TPE: 113
Alexander Hamilton II is another player, like so many of the S21 class, that has previous experience within the MLR. Hamilton II had his share of personality clashes within the MLR Discord, but was always an active conversationalist and very engaged in the sport. His personality has seemed to calm down quite a bit recently, and it will be interesting to see how he adjusts to life in the NSFL clubhouses, outside of the slow pace of the MLR. As the second pick for Portland, and sporting a 113 overall TPE, it’s clear that the Portland scouting took particular interest in his early activity to snag him before some of the other, statistically better rated, players.
#12 Pythons - Zamir Kehla, CB
Current TPE: 150
In a back to back pick with Hamilton II, the Portland Pythons picked up Zamir Kehla, yet another Cornerback. It’s clear with this drafting strategy that the Pythons intend to sport a scary defensive game, and selecting three CBs at the start of the draft is sure to encourage that. Kehla has been seen already becoming good friends with Hamilton II and we’ll certainly being hearing more about this tight duo later on in the season.
#13 Coyotes - Eddie Jeeta, WR
Current TPE: 156
Eddie “the Cheetah” Jeeta has been among some of the fastest players in this year’s draft class. The Kansas City Coyotes picked him up 13th overall, and will be playing him at Wide Receiver to benefit from his top tier bursts of velocity. Akin to a real cheetah, Jeeta has been seen to tire quickly on the field, but with some directed training, I’m sure he’ll be able to improve his total running time. Off the field, Jeeta has been saving up funds to support his unique training style, and looks ready to sustain this lifestyle for quite a few seasons to come.
#14 Seawolves - Matt Cross, S
Current TPE: 140
Picking up 3rd overall safety in the 14th overall spot, the Norfolk Seawolves next selected Matt Cross. Cross has reportedly been very interested in talking to veteran players of the league in order to learn more about both the history and to pick up new training techniques and game strategies. Sure to be a hard-working member of the draft class, Cross comes into the league without many prior connections. He’ll need to continue to impress if he wishes to be selected as early he was now, in the upcoming NSFL draft.
#15 Buccaneers - Troen Egghands, DE
Current TPE: 154
Egghands has become infamous within the rookie class already, for subjecting his opponents to an uncomfortable, yolky sensation when grappling with them on the field. It’s been said that during his college days, opponents would refuse to go up against him, leading to some very easy matchups and tackles. Although that’s unlikely to phase players at the DSFL level, it may still provide him an edge in the game. The Buccaneers certainly picked up on where his strengths lie when they selected him, and will do well to train him up for his inevitable spot in the big leagues.
#16 Birddogs - White Goodman, RB
Current TPE: 175
White Goodman, the running back, selected 16th overall for the novel Dallas Birddogs, has sprung up quickly among this season’s rookies. Now leading the team as the General Manager of the Birddogs, he has certainly impressed the DSFL Administration. With solid financial support and an already incredibly high 175 TPE, Goodman shows no signs of slowing down before next season. I predict Goodman to be an early pick in the S22 NSFL Draft, and contributing extensively to whichever team he ends up on then.
#17 Grey Ducks - Sebastian Vettel, S
Current TPE: 98
Sebastian was high on multiple people’s draft boards, really making an impact with his highlight clips and graphics early on. However, he earned an alarmingly low amount of TPE in his first update (Currently lowest on the list). Although it is not necessarily a cause for concern, it’s still something that will be monitored throughout the season. With all that being said however, Vettel still has a high ceiling and is also in a fantastic situation in Minnesota with the team coming off back to back Ultimini championships.
#18 Royals - Cadillac Harris , CB
Current TPE: 120
Unbelievably not the only Cadillac within the S22 draft class, nor even the only Cadillac picked up by the London Royals, Cadillac Harris became the team’s first Cornerback at the 18th overall draft pick. Harris has shown an adeptness to learning quickly, doing well in his college class and reportedly memorizing the Royals’ playbook within just a few days of signing. Hopefully for the team, this can translate into excellent tutoring opportunities for other players, and enable more complex on-field decision making in games. Although his brain game is great, this is gridiron and Harris will need to work on his brawn to stay relevant on the field next season.
#19 Pythons - Shawn Dawkins, S
Current TPE: 103
Next up, going 19th overall, is safety Shawn Dawkins. Dawkins has responded quickly to his clubhouse, and shows an eagerness to continue his training with the Portland Pythons this season. Dawkins is another player nearing the upper echelon of top speed within the draft, and the team hopes this can translate into early shutdowns of escaped runners. Together with the rest of the Pythons’ defensive line, he is likely to see little need to track down those runners or receivers, but it really goes to show how committed Portland is to this defense when even their safety is such a fantastic choice.
#20 Coyotes - Chester Sweets, CB
Current TPE: 128
This pick was discussed extensively on Chester’s recent interview with his GM, Starboy/Chika Fujiwara (For those of you that haven’t listened to it, I highly recommend you do). But I personally believe the Coyotes got an absolute steal here at 20. Chester was pretty high up on my personal rankings due to how active he’s already been on the server and on the forums. He’s been a pleasure to talk to and given all the corners in this class with massive egos, he’s been one of the major bright spots. I have faith in him to continue earning as he’s remained active in the main servers and has even started posting media recently as mentioned earlier.
#21 Coyotes - Kevin Fakon, RB
Current TPE: 103
Kansas City, up until this point in the draft, had selected a CB, a DT, and a WR. Rounding out their offensive picks in the third round, they opted for Kevin Fakon. A respectable running back, scoring in at 103 TPE, Fakon has opted to dive into agility in an attempt to outmaneuver his opponents, rather than the typical focus into speed. It’s unknown yet whether that will work for him, although a player willing to take a risk might be just what the Kansas City Coyotes need for this coming season. The team seems to agree to snag him at twenty-first overall.
#22 Birddogs - Stanislaw Koniecpolski, LB
Current TPE: 174
Stanislaw at #22 is a pretty big steal and to be honest, the Birddogs despite the shitty branding, went the opposite way with their draft with a fantastic one. Majesiu is a recreate in the NSFL and is big in PBE. He’s already earned a sizeable amount of TPE and getting him at #22 is ridiculous despite his low activity in the discord servers. For someone who has already shown dedication to earning TPE in NSFL and has a big reputation in another league, I believe Dallas made a great pick here with Stanislaw at 22.
#23 Buccaneers - Octavio Clemente, DT
Current TPE: 149
Although we’re now done to pick 23, Octavio Clemente was still only the third defensive tackle chosen. Although Clemente is not as financially stable as some of the players in the draft class, he has still shown an understanding of how to earn plenty of funds, and the importance of doing so. With an already huge Strength of 80, it should be no issue for Clemente to continue this rigorous training and move upwards in draft stock for the S22 NSFL Draft.
#24 GreyDucks - Mo "MaBuccaneers -a" Magic, DT
Current TPE: 140
The magic man himself, Mr. Mo Magic has rustled more than a few pairs of pants with his incredible charm. Carrying a hefty 140 TPE, Magic should be able to throw his weight around on the field, as well as carry much of the conversation in the Minnesota clubhouse. I believe Minnesota made a fantastic choice here, and we’ll certainly see Magic as one of the most charming and well-known members of the draft class. As their third defensive pick in three picks, this did leave the Grey Ducks a bit behind on offensive power, although I’m sure they’ve accounted for it.
