It’s Venus Powers here - deserving Punter of the Year, hopefully still a member of the Philadelphia Liberty, and now the highest TPE kicker in the league. Ask me anything.

Do you believe in the high TPE kicker curse?
There is no such thing as a curse, other than some backwards rationale by GMs who want to justify hanging on to lower TPE options instead of paying up the money for elite options. Do I expect to be the best kicker every year? No, obviously not, the sim does what the sim wants to do and sometimes what it wants to do is give low TPE kickers the best stats in the league. But over time, I’m confident in my abilities, and I’m confident I’ll be one of the best kickers in history when the dust settles.

Will you be the one to break the curse?
The high TPE curse? No. The sim is unfixable. The curse of Turkleton holding a stranglehold on all volume kicking and punting stats? Yes, absolutely. When it comes to the big three volume stats (field goals, extra points, punting yards) I’m easily on track to match or break all of them except for the bonkers XP one (seriously how in the world did your team score that many touchdowns) even with the fact that I’m playing at an inherent disadvantage with one less game a season than Turkleton ever got.

Looking at the age and tpe production of current kickers, it looks like you and Dougie Smalls may be kicking rivals for some years to come. Thoughts?

I love it! The more the merrier. I was looking forward to a healthy rivalry with Jordan Jackson and Baxter Frost, but both of them retired almost as soon as I arrived. With Alex D and Crisco finally starting to get hit by regression, and the legend Kulture Fulture hitting retirement at last, it’s time for a new wave of kickers to shine. Looks like there’s at least one high earning kicker in this new class as well, so I’m looking forward to seeing all of you shine and compete for second place in the GOAT conversation. First place is me.

Why is Dougie Smalls a cooler kicker than you?

I imagine that Smalls is indeed quite cooler than me. I mean Philadelphia may be chilly, but Yellowknife is freezing cold almost all of the year. That probably impacts your body temperature quite a bit.
