DSFL 1 Round Mock Draft
Disclaimer - While I’m an NSFL GM, I’m not in any DSFL team’s war room, so I’m going in blind. This is all based on speculation by me.
Also, I know this is before the NSFL draft. In a much smaller draft than the past 2 seasons, it’s hard to guess who will be sent down/called up. I think teams will try to balance needs with grabbing some of the sure-fire recreates in the class.
Pick 1
select
DT Bane Ka’an?’an? - ADwyer87
While DT might not be the biggest need for the Royals, this pick is purely based on the user. Dwyer is one of the most well respected users in league history, and is the previous commissioner of the league. This is a slam dunk pick for London.
Pick 2
select
DE Son Goku - Naoso
A first gen, Goku has already done every task possible except for the mock draft PT. It also looks like he has sim league experience in at least the SHL. There are a few other possible players Dallas looks at here, but I think they go this route.
Pick 3
via
select
S Adélie de Pengu - IsaStarcrossed
Isa was not a trade deadline create, so he might have missed a couple of tasks, but it doesn’t matter. He has pedigree in every way - as a user, an earner, a good locker room guy, and now an NSFL GM. Even if both of Norfolk’s high earning safeties are sent down, this position is versatile enough to find a place for a third.
Pick 4
selects
OL Kevin Malone - TubbyTim69
Fair rubs! Tijuana is one of the pioneers of the human OL, but have gotten away from it recently. I know some people might think picking OL at 4 is a reach, but Tijuana is going back to their roots here as they grab another NSFL GM.
Pick 5
selects
LB Heinrich Kackpoo - gbfn
Portland selects the second first gen user of the draft in Linebacker Heinrich Kackpoo. gbfn has come out of the gates hot, earning almost every TPE available so far and winning an Ultimini to go with it. Linebacker is a huge need for Portland. They could also go for a recreate here, such as linebacker Griffin Porter, from veteran user AsylumParty.
Pick 6
select
DE CJ Riley - Huskies311
Dewalt trades down, but is still able to pick up his NSFL GM at number 6. This pick gives an immediate boost to Minnesota’s defensive line and brings us to 4 NSFL GM’s drafted in the first round.
Pick 7
select
QB Reginald Covington III - PDXBaller
KCC may plan to wait it out in regards to going QB depending on if they think the need for QB for other teams isn’t great, but I have them finding the replacement for Baltimore QB Chika immediately. PDX is a beloved user on the site, and is a user any team would benefit to add to the their locker room. Other possible picks include ckroyal, the 5th NSFL GM in the draft, or a first gen such as CB Ray-Ray Jackson or WR Dookmarriot
Pick 8
select
CB Ray-Ray Jackson - Jason
Myrtle Beach is in a position to go best player available here. The question is what do they value? Do they value the consistency of an NSFL GM like ck? Do they want a high earner in Videl/Leaf?
I believe that they grab a CB to shore up the defense, with Scott likely getting called up to the Yeti, and their WR’s likely good next season (pending send downs).
