S23 NSFL DRAFT TOP PROSPECTS
Going to look at the top 5 offensive and top 5 defensive players in the upcoming draft. This list is in no particular order nor are they ranked against each other. Just top 5 Offensive prospects and top 5 defensive prospects. I also tried to spread out the positions I picked. I couldve gone 4 recievers however we gotta show love to some other positions. Without further ado let's get down to it.
Offensive Prospects:
Kai Sakura WR Minnesota Grey Ducks
32 catches 349 Yards 3 TD's
In an absolute loaded WR class in a league that is already short on receiver positions, Sakura has established himself as one of the top prospects. After a solid season with the Ducks, Sekura racked up 349 Yards and 3 TD's on 32 catches. Cracking an NSFL roster will be tough for Sakura's rookie season however if theres an offensive rookie to start day 1 it would be Sakura.
Tychondrius Hood WR Minnesota Grey Ducks
57 Catches 835 Yards 7 TD'S
Hood had a phenomenal season in Minny as he finished 2nd in receiving yards and tied for 1st in receiving TD's. Lining up opposite of Sakura, Hood used his speed to beat opponents deep and his Jump ball abilities is next Level. Hood put up WRotY numbers and looks to carry the momentum into the next level as he should be one of the first offensive players off the board. Along with Sakura, Hood could potentially crack a roster spot rather then soend another season in the DSFL. Hood has ORotY written all over him and who ever can snag Hood is going to have a beast for years to come.
Nicholas Ayers RB Myrtle Beach Buccaneers
294 Carries 1348 Yards 7 TD's
Ayers is the premiere back in this class after having a solid campaign in Myrtle Beach. He finished top 5 in rushing and averaged 4.9 yards per carry! Ayers may likely be a send down however that's nothing on the type of talent he really is. I believe whoever snags this prospect is truly landing their future RB. The only knock I can find on him is he wasnt active in the passing game however that's more so on the team rather than the player.
Benoit Blanco WR Norfolk Seawolves
34 catches 342 yards 1 TD
Yes this is a bit of a head scratcher but let me explain.... Blanco was a mid season pick up which looking at his stats makes sense. But in the games he did play he played very well. Averaging 10 yards a snag he was a liable 3rd down option that got Norfolk out some sticky situations. Also, have any of ya'll seen his graphics work? Gawd damn his graphics are amazing. Not only is a team getting a steal here they're getting someone who brings in an amazing LR presence he also has sick graphic skills so equipment should be an issue with him.
Reginald Covington III Kansas City Coyotes
163/296 1654 Yards 9 TD's 12 INTS
What's a top prospect list without a QB? RC3 is the top QB in this draft after a solid season in the DSFL for KC. RC3 threw for 1654 Yards and 9 TD's leading the KC offense to a solid season. He will have to be more careful with the ball as 12 INTS is a lot compared to his TD's. However, he was 55% throwing so when he is on he's on. RC3 is going to soend a few more seasons in the DSFL before he's and NSFL Caliber QB so it'll be fun to watch him grow as he has a bright future ahead. Especially with some teams top QB's entering regression and teams will start looking for replacements.
TOP DEFENSIVE PROSPECTS
Tyler Montain DT Dallas Birddogs
35 tackles 1 FR 5 Sacks
Montain is an absolute beast of a player, possibly one of the best prospects overall and one of the top DL we have seen in a while. Montain ate a lot of double teams hence the stats not jumping off screen. However, he managed to snag 5 sacks and 35 tackles and he is a position of big Need in the NSFL. He seems to be slated to start for his rookie season and it's going to be fun watching when he isnt double teamed as much and gets left 1 on 1.
Heinrich Kackpoo LB Portland Pythons
123 Tackles 1 TFL 6 Sacks 2 INTS 10 PD
Kackpoo is the highly touted defensive prospect that has people talking. The potential 1st overall pick had an astonishing 123 tackles while also being a all around threat. Pass rushing he finished with 6 sacks while in the passing game he has 2 INTS and 10 PD's. In a pass heavy league like the NSFL teams rely on LB's to be able to cover and Kackpoo has showed he isnt afraid to also get in on the run game. I highly believe Kackpoo will be a day 1 starter and can take control of a Defense and become a real force in the league.
Greedy Sly S London Royals
92 Tackles 2 FR 1 INT 2 PD
Sly is one of the top secondary players in this draft however he isnt known for his play as a pass defender. Someone who cna potentially be played more as a NB, Sly runs down hill on run plays and isnt afraid of contact. Finishing with 92 Tackles he is great on the field with closing down on the ball carrier and being a sure tackler. His versatility is what is really getting teams excited as he can line up at saftey, corner or NB Sly will be able to use his aggression on player at the next level and If it's anything like he was in the DSFL he will be fun to watch.
Son Goku DE Kansas City Coyotes
85 Tackles 16 TFL 2 FF 1 FR 9 Sacks
Monster. That's the only way to describe the type of player Goku is coming off the edge. An absolute Monster. Goku finished with a solid 85 Tackles with 16 coming behind the line of scrimmage in the run game. Goku lead all DL in Sacks and finished tied 2and at 9 sacks on the season. With the NSFL being a pass heavy league teams are always looking for way to get to the QB and Goku provides talent that can turn the jets on and get to the QB while also being able to punish RB's in the run game. Spending money on OL just became a bigger priority for what ever teams are in the division with Goku as he will be hunting a lot.
Ray-Ray Jackson CB Minnesots Grey Ducks
48 Tackles 6 PD's
Jackson's stats are low because no one threw the ball to him. Jackson is the top pure Corner in the draft and he is a real shut down corner. Jackson posses the speed and length to be a shut down Corner while also has the strength and intelligence to jump in on the run. Jackson will be a cornerstone for any secondary he is drafted to.
