Agent Tesla: Hello and good time appropriate greeting media readers of the National Simulation Football League! I am here today to go over the first week of Developmental Simulation Football League action both on and off the field. So welcome to the first edition of Agent Tesla's Developmental Simulation Football League Week in Review! Note when I say week I mean the meta week of the real world that includes both the preseason and the first week of sim world action. Thanks to my job as a rookie mentor I was able to get a representative of the sim to help me with doing some in depth highlights for the regular season games, however as we are currently pressed for time we are going to do a real quick recap of each week of preseason action before the regular season. Let us start with week one of the preseason please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Norfolk Seawolves at Tijuana Luchadores. Tijuana Luchadores won 27 to 6.
Dallas Birddogs at Myrtle Beach Buccaneers. Dallas Birddogs won 28 to 13.
Kansas City Coyotes at London Royals. London Royals won 34 to 14.
Minnesota Grey Ducks at Portland Pythons. Portland Pythons won 20 to 7.
Agent Tesla: Alright well the preseason does not have any tangible impact on the regular season, however it looks like all of the games were somewhat lopsided for week one at least. The closest margin of victory was still thirteen whole points with the Minnesota Grey Ducks managing to stay within two scores of the Portland Pythons. Now for week two of the preseason please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Kansas City Coyotes at Minnesota Grey Ducks. Minnesota Grey Ducks won 24 to 13.
Dallas Birddogs at Tijuana Luchadores. Tijuana Luchadores won 28 to 24.
Norfolk Seawolves at London Royals. London Royals won 33 to 10.
Myrtle Beach Buccaneers at Portland Pythons. Myrtle Beach Buccaneers won 33 to 24.
Agent Tesla: A closer set of games here overall with the only truly lopsided win being the London Royals win over the Norfolk Seawolves. Outside of that there were two games that were decided by two scores, but both could have been different with just a touchdown and a field goal. Also the closest game of preseason thus far in the Dallas Birddogs game against the Tijuana Luchadores. Now for week three of the preseason please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Tijuana Luchadores at Minnesota Grey Ducks. Minnesota Grey Ducks won 35 to 14.
Myrtle Beach Buccaneers at Norfolk Seawolves. Norfolk Seawolves won 21 to 14.
London Royals at Dallas Birddogs. Dallas Birddogs won 10 to 3.
Portland Pythons at Kansas City Coyotes. Kansas City Coyotes won 23 to 17.
Agent Tesla: Seems like this is when the teams started to settle into their routine as there was only one game decided by more than a single score, and there was even a defensive slugfest this week. The Minnesota Grey Ducks win the week as the only team to break thirty with their score of 35 and the fact that they managed to keep their opponent to just 14 shows they knew what to do. Credit to the Dallas Birddogs for managing to be the only team in their game to score a touchdown. Also good job by the Norfolk Seawolves and the Kansas City Coyotes managing to make it through with a one score lead over their opponents. Now for week four of the preseason please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Dallas Birddogs at Norfolk Seawolves. Dallas Birddogs won 24 to 23.
Kansas City Coyotes at Myrtle Beach Buccaneers. Myrtle Beach Buccaneers won 50 to 3.
Minnesota Grey Ducks at London Royals. London Royals won 23 to 20.
Tijuana Luchadores at Portland Pythons. Tijuana Luchadores won 26 to 20.
Agent Tesla: What a week of football! The closest game of the preseason being the first game of the week Dallas Birddogs at Norfolk Seawolves decided by just one point. Followed by the most lopsided score of the preseason with the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers outscoring the Kansas City Coyotes by 47 points! Then we have two more close games with the London Royals just getting by with a field goal victory, and the Tijuana Luchadores managing a two field goal difference over the Portland Pythons. Not a bad preseason I must say!
Now before we get into the regular season stuff I have to preface this with the fact that this is previously recorded footage that has already been shared in the highlights channel of the NSFL Rookie Discord. A job of the rookie mentors that I volunteered to handle as I have entirely too much time on my hands and an endless need to write about things. So instead of rehashing all of that I am going to just cut to that previously recorded footage for those who may not have seen it. Whether it is because you are not allowed in the rookie discord, just do not want to be in the rookie discord, or maybe you just do not pay much attention to the discord. Regardless of reason we still appreciate having you in the league and want to provide you as entertaining an experience as possible, and so please enjoy the highlights from the first week of regular season Developmental Simulation Football League Action.
-Cut to previously recorded footage here-
Agent Tesla: Hello and good time appropriate greeting fellow members of the National Simulation Football League! I am here today to bring you some highlights from the first week of Developmental Simulation Football League action! Joining me today to do this is Sim Rep who will represent the sim. Now how about you start us off with the first game of the day Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Game Minnesota Grey Ducks at Norfolk Seawolves. Seawolves won 24 to 6. Offensive player of the game is running back Captain Rogers of the Norfolk Seawolves with a stat line of 23 rushing attempts for 101 yards, an average run of 4.4 yards, a long of 13 yards, and 1 reception for 16 yards.
Agent Tesla: Captain Rogers earned this on the back of his consistent performance throughout the game, but his long run of 13 yards on second and five in the second quarter was also a key contributor. He also helped in the passing game with his reception of 16 yards on third and four in the third quarter. Now for our next player take it away Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is linebacker Ryan Scott of the Norfolk Seawolves with a stat line of 7 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 interception.
Agent Tesla: Ryan Scott was an important piece of the defense throughout the game with his tackles, but we are here today to talk about the highlights. His first big play came with less than a minute left to play as he picked off Snowbow and returned the ball five yards to put the Seawolves in position to score a field goal at the end of the half. He kept it up throughout the game though as he also had a six yard sack on third and eight in the closing minutes of the game.
Now for our second game of the opening week of the Developmental Simulation Football League. Tell us about it Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: London Royals at Kansas City Coyotes. Coyotes won 19 to 6. Offensive player of the game is running back Kevin Fakon of the Kansas City Coyotes with a stat line of 35 rushing attempts for 126 yards, an average run of 3.6 yards, a long of 14 yards, and 1 reception for 3 yards and a touchdown.
Agent Tesla: Kevin Fakon took control of this game from the very first snap with an excellent 14 yard run to get the team to midfield right at the start. He also had an excellent 12 yard run on first and ten in the third quarter that put the team in position to score in the red zone. Fakon then scored the only touchdown of the day on a three yard reception just a play later. Now for our defensive player of the game take it away Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is linebacker Juan Domine of the London Royals with a stat line of 16 tackles.
Agent Tesla: Okay! Now that is an interesting stat line as a fan of defense! You may not think sixteen tackles is worthy of highlights, but there are a few big plays that I can say contributed to this being such a competitive game. The first of which would be their tackle of Campbell in the second quarter after a 32 yard reception that saved a touchdown. They also managed to stop the offensive player of the game on third down in the second quarter to force a field goal attempt.
Onto the third game of the opening week of the Developmental Simulation Football League. Please take it from here Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Myrtle Beach Buccaneers at Portland Pythons. Buccaneers won 27 to 20. Offensive player of the game is running back 3' Jeffrey of the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers with a stat line of 18 rushing attempts for 110 yards, two touchdowns, an average run of 6.1 yards and a long of 18 yards.
Agent Tesla: I did a highlights series last season for my client's team and I have to say a run of 18 yards is rare and Jeffrey gave it to them early with that 18 yard run coming on third and six just a couple of minutes into the game. They also had a 14 yard run on first and ten in the third quarter that would lead to points thanks to their next three runs going for four yards, five yards, and finally five yards and the touchdown. Add onto that a 2 yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter and a 13 yard touchdown run on a third and two in the fourth quarter and it is clear why the sim awarded them this time. Now onto our next player to highlight Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is defensive end Sebastian Low of the Portland Pythons with a stat line of 3 tackles and 2 sacks.
Agent Tesla: Just like we did on offense the star of the Portland Pythons defense got started early with an eleven yard sack on a second and fifteen in the first quarter that would lead to a punt. Added a six yard sack in the second quarter on a second and three that also forced a punt. Two big plays there that won them the award from the sim for their performance this game.
Last but certainly not least is our fourth game of the day and I will leave Sim Rep to explain!
Sim Rep: Tijuana Luchadores at Dallas Birddogs. Birddogs won 20 to 12. Offensive player of the game is running back Crowbar Theeks of the Tijuana Luchadores with a stat line of 31 rushing attempts for 131 yards, an average run of 4.2 yards, a long of 10 yards, along with 2 receptions for 9 yards with an average of 4.5 yards and a long of 6 yards.
Agent Tesla: Crowbar Theeks came to play as they got one of their two longest runs in the first quarter where they took the ball 10 yards on a third and one play. That play came as part of a series of four consecutive runs that tallied 22 yards on the ground. They managed another 10 yard run early in the second quarter on a first and ten that put the Luchadores at the two yard line. Also had their best reception of the day as a 6 yard catch on a third and one to keep a drive alive that would lead to a score for the Luchadores. Now for our next player Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is linebacker Bradley Owens of the Dallas Birddogs with a stat line of 11 tackles and 1 sack.
Agent Tesla: Bradley Owens biggest play was obviously the sack they managed to add to their stat line. They were able to get a six yard sack on third and twenty-five in the first quarter to force a punt by the Luchadores. Also had an impressive tackle in the third quarter where they managed to stop a run at a one yard gain on third and two to take it to fourth down. Since these are just highlights I cannot go into detail on all of the stops that they were a part of this game, but I can say their consistency throughout the game along with those two big plays was rightfully rewarded by the sim here.
-Cut back to the filming still in progress-
Agent Tesla: So the first week of action carried on the entertainment factor of the fourth week of preseason and saw several competitive games. The largest gap was the Norfolk Seawolves eighteen point win over the Minnesota Grey Ducks. Meanwhile the closest game was decided by just seven points as the Myrtle Beach Buccaneers fought off the Portland Pythons. All that out of the way I would just like to thank Sim Rep for helping me handle all of these highlights and being a huge part of the community. Anything you want to say before you leave Sim Rep?
Sim Rep:
Agent Tesla: Beautiful. Now for the next segment of this week in review article I wanted to go over a media suggestion of the week an idea shamelessly stolen from Sylphreni's podcasts, although as I spend more time reading National Simulation Football League media than watching movies or television mine comes with a twist. Instead of a movie or television series I am going to recommend one of the media pieces posted by a member of the Developmental Simulation Football League during the week in question.
The media suggestion for this week is 'An Interview with Guava-Fresca' by SchwarzNarr. A quite interesting interview by one of the finest new media makers to the league. Speaking as someone who reads a lot of the media that comes out in the league I can safely say this is one of the better pieces of the week. If you do decide to take the time to read it; I hope that you enjoy it as much as I did as I think was well worth the read.
Now that would normally be the end of it, however there is also a podcast I want to recommend for those of you who prefer the spoken word. This does not consist of a user currently in the Developmental Simulation Football League, but as it involves two general managers of the Developmental Simulation Football League I consider it a worthwhile listen for those who are interested in learning more about the league. The podcast in question is 'The Sylphreni Show - Episode 13' where Sylphreni interviews 'Matty Ice' according to the topic description. It was a good listen with some interesting perspectives on the league, along with a conversation about anime. Well worth the listen if that is what interests you and you have the time.
So since this is the first edition of the Agent Tesla's Developmental Simulation Football League Week in Review I cannot guarantee that I will follow the same format going forward, but I do hope you will join us again next week. Thank you for taking time out of your day to read this regardless of how much you read, and I hope that you have a nice week! See you next media piece.
