What if each State/Province/Country had its own team, entirely made up of S25 prospects who are from that State/Province/Country? Which one would be the best? Which one would be the worst? These are questions that I doubt anybody has had, so I decided to answer it!
Some quick rules, of course:
Each US State is ranked on its own. Same with each Canadian Province/Territory. Outside of those two, each other country with prospects is ranked on its own, as most players are from North America anyway. A special exception to this rule is Scotland/England, who I decided to split up into two different countries. That's how FIFA ranks them, so that's how I'm gonna rank them.
In addition, if a prospect's creation page did not have their birthplace on it, they will not be included unless I could find a wiki page with that prospect's birthplace on it.
With that said, let's get started!
One Man Shows
These poor teams only have one person on them. How sad.
Japan
Terry Yaki - RB from Osaka, Japan
Egypt
King Tutankhamun - RB from Egypt
South Korea
Crayne Whebet - WR from Seoul, South Korea
The Netherlands
Bonifacius van dan Huevel - DT from The Hague, Netherlands
Van dan Huevel is one of two prospects with "van" in his name, yet the only one who is actually from The Netherlands. Interesting.
Indonesia
Ananda Adyan - OL from Jakarta, Indonesia
Ireland
Jake Woodhead - TE from Dublin, Ireland
Turkey
Smitty McGhee - OL from Constantinople, Turkey
I wish it was still called Constantinople...
Rwanda
Dijbutee McJimmerson - TE from Kigali, Rwanda
Argentina
Sack Daddy - DE from Buenos Aires, Argentina
We start out with a bunch of European, Asian, and African teams, which is understandable as the vast majority of players are from the US or Canada. Funnily enough, Argentina is the only team in South America, which could technically make Sack Daddy the sole member of the South American team.
Delaware
Julian Joseph - TE from Wilmington, DE
Utah
Jeffrey Jefferson - DE from Salt Lake City, UT
Washington D.C.
Gabr Spladle - TE from Washington D.C.
I guess Washington D.C. isn't technically a state, is it? Oh well.
South Dakota
LeDavious "Dave" Davis - DT from White Owl, SD
North Carolina
Charlie Woody - CB from Durham, NC
Colorado
D'Brickashaw Minshew Sr. - S from Colorado Springs, CO
Alaska
Lugolor Gulogor - CB from Anchorage, AK
I'm still not convinced that Alaska isn't a fictional place. This guy's name further increases my suspicions.
Arkansas
Sterling Moss - OL from Fayetteville, AR
Dynamic Duos
These teams have TWO people on them! Yeah, I know it's not exciting, but the vast majority of teams are in this tier.
Tennessee
Honky-Tonk Haywood - DT from Nashville, TN
Dexter Jackson - LB from Nashville, TN
Massachusetts
Connor Quigley - OL from Boston, MA
Dan Foster - TE from Boston, MA
Missouri
Gavin LeClerc - CB from St. Louis, MO
Milk Mann - S from Jefferson City, MO
New York
Breezy Wallace - CB from Brooklyn, NY
Tony Yeboah - S from Hicksville, NY
British Columbia
Hank Sakner - DE from Vancouver, BC
Booker Bookchin - DT from Vancouver, BC
New Mexico
Kilian Chambers - WR from Albuquerque, NM
Marlon Alexander - OL from Albuquerque, NM
Vermont
Sheed Thebaw - DT from Burlington, VT
Wasrabi Gleel - LB from Windsor, VT
Michigan
Daniel Bateman - LB from MI
James Gath - CB from Grand Rapids, MI
Alabama
Dean McBean - LB from AL
Xmus Flaxon Jaxon-Waxon - S from AL
Louisiana
Jimi DeSoto - LB from New Orleans, LA
Richard Leaking - LB from Baton Rouge, LA
These teams are ranked a bit lower due to having two players on the same side of the ball.
Ontario
Brandon Kirwin - WR from Toronto, Ontario
Rusty Rucker - LB from Toronto, Ontario
Georgia
Cmon Skiuuup - TE from Glennville, GA
Curtis Blackshear - CB from Savannah, GA
Kentucky
Dakota Grossman - WR from Louisville, KY
Raylan Crowder - DE from Shelbyville, KY
Virginia
Flip N'Chick - TE from Savageville, VA
Bob Roberts - S from Newport News, VA
Germany
Stephon Trummer - TE from Munich, Germany
Lukas Hinsetzen - CB from Wurzburg, Germany
Australia
Willy Weasel - WR from Australia
Ben Anabender - CB from Cairns, Australia
Scotland
Buster Bawlls - RB From Figgate, Scotland
Jeeeeroy Lenkins - CB from Edinburgh, Scotland
These teams have good balance between defense and offense. I mean, there's only two players on them, but baby steps...
Threes and Fours
These teams have three or four players. With this many players, you can actually see these teams form a somewhat cohesive unit... kinda...
Wisconsin
Macho Weber - OL from Chilton, WI
Gary Goodman - LB from Poplar, WI
Mason Gillion - CB from Green Bay, WI
This team can't actually move the ball down the field. The defense is alright, though.
Washington
Matt Peterson - QB from Seattle, WA
Uncle Rico - QB from Summit Valley, WA
Swantavius Jones - OL from Kirkland, WA
The second team with three players, and... they are not much better. What's the point of two QBs if you don't have any receiving threats? At least they're well protected.
Mississippi
L'Gazzy Burfict - LB from Shubuta, MS
Gib McGlib - LB from Hot Coffee, MS
Tayshawn Crunk - S from Natchez, MS
Oops! All defense!
Pennsylvania
Zach Crossley - RB from Philadelphia, PA
Hank Antilles - OL from Philadelphia, PA
Vick Vinegar - DE from Philadelphia, PA
Hunter Mantis - DT from Allentown, PA
Things this team has: a good O-line, a good D-line. Things this team does not have: a secondary, a receiving corps.
Texas
Bill Brasky - QB from Blackflat, TX
Mark Walker - WR from Dallas, TX
Chuck Roth - OL from Round Rock, TX
J.J.J. Shabadoo - DT from Fort Stockton, TX
Their offense is pretty good. Their defense is... well, not.
Indiana
Colt Reinhorn - TE from Indianapolis, IN
Clay Stallworth - OL from Gary, IN
Sam Roes - DE from Indianapolis, IN
Lionel Rumper - S from Fort Wayne, IN
This team is actually really well balanced. They have a receiving threat, someone on each side of the line, and a member of the secondary.
The Best of the Best
Now these? These are the real teams. Teams with more than four players, that is. You know, compared to the rest of this list, the bar really isn't that high...
#7 - Minnesota
Hugh McGree - OL from Minneapolis, MN
Brick van Sanzo - DE from St. Paul, MN
Vance Slattery - DT from Minneapolis, MN
Peter Patterson - CB from St. Paul, MN
Rich Triplet - CB from Minneapolis, MN
Every player on this team is from the Twin Cities, which is pretty neat. The defensive line is pretty stacked and they won't have to worry about opposing offenses with their CB duo. The issue with them isn't defensive, it's offensive. How are you supposed to score if a lineman is the only player on your offense? With this glaring weakness, I'm afraid I can't put them any higher.
#6 - Florida
Felix Archstone - OL from Tampa, FL
Chad Thunder - LB from Tallahassee, FL
Clay Clark - CB from Jacksonville, FL
Chris Callahan - S from Jacksonville, FL
Teddy Utterstrutzen - S from Miami, FL
Are you noticing a pattern here? Great defense, yet nobody on the offense who can actually carry the ball. I rank them higher than Minnesota because a LB is more versatile than a D-lineman.
#5 - Illinois
Jameson Vermillion - RB from Centralia, IL
Bobby Hoffman - DE from Evergreen Park, IL
Guy Fields - LB from Vienna, IL
James Hoffman - CB from Sauk Village, IL
Jack Burton - K/P from Pinckneyville, IL
I am absolutely shocked. Despite this many prospects coming from Illinois, NONE of them are from Chicago. I'm not complaining or anything, but it's pretty surprising. Anyway, this team is pretty alright. They have a good defense overall. Like Minnesota and Florida, the main issue with this team is their offense. Unlike Minnesota and Florida, their one offensive player is a RB, a player who can actually carry the ball. Okay, I guess they have a kicker too.
#4 - New Jersey
Adam C. Spencer - WR from Penn's Grove, NJ
T.J. Evans - WR from Newark, NJ
Ninton Quelson - OL from Ledmloh, NJ
Albert Ruschmann - DE from Summit, NJ
Regius Goliathus - LB from Newark, NJ
Jake Fencik - K/P from Cherry Hill, NJ
I know, New Jersey! It's not the first state that comes to mind when I think "football." Regardless, this team is pretty good. They have a good WR core and their defense is alright.
#3 - England
Jackie Daytona - QB from Whitby, England
Lebby Newton - WR from London, England
Noah Akrele - WR from London, England
Owen Isaac - DE from London, England
Matty Martinsson - LB from Stoke-on-Trent, England
The best non-American team on this list! The offense is pretty good, consisting of a QB and two WRs. The defense is a bit weaker, but still nothing to scoff at.
#2 - California
Owen Holloway - QB from Anaheim, CA
Alexander Johnson - WR from Los Angeles, CA
Scott Mastro - WR from Fresno, CA
Mark Callous - WR from Death Valley, CA
Darren Pama - TE from San Francisco, CA
Joe Show - OL from San Jose, CA
Troy Watson - DE from San Francisco, CA
NationalSimulation FootballLeague - S from San Diego, CA
Let's be honest. You expected California to be up here, I expected California to be up here, everyone expected California to be up here. The highest population state tends to have lots of prospects, after all. This team also has easily the best name in the entire class. I shouldn't have to point it out to you, you know who he is.
However, this team has a few fatal flaws. This team easily has more receiving options than any other team, but that comes at a heavy price. That price being a defense. This team has TWO defensive players, and one of them is a D-lineman. Any other team with even a competent offense could score on them all day. And speaking of competent offenses...
#1 - Ohio
Trent Blackburn - QB from Cleveland, OH
Frankie Lantz - RB from Cleveland, OH
Alex Reed - WR from Cincinnati, OH
Jake Sackson - DE from Toledo, OH
Crozier McCoy - DE from Canton, OH
Angelo Cerilli - DT from Trotwood, OH
Caleb Judge - LB from Columbus, OH
Jeff Haraldson - LB from Akron, OH
"Wait, the best team is Ohio?"
"Always has been."
Seriously though, it was a really close call between California and these boys. In the end, I had to give the edge to to Ohio, mainly due to that amazing defense. Yeah, most of it is D-linemen, but that's still enough to wreck even the sturdiest O-line. Personally, I brought the decision down to how Ohio and California would likely fare against one another in a real game. Ohio has a QB, a WR, and an RB. Sure, it's not the most complete offense, but it's definitely competent enough to score on a team whose only defensive member outside of the line is a safety. Their defense would likely fare much better against California's offense than California's defense would fare against Ohio's offense, which is why I had to go with them.
Overall, these rankings are really close, and the top two could easily be switched by someone who looks at it a different way than me.
