Good evening everyone, I'm here with Felix Archstone, an upcoming offensive linemen prospect from the University of Florida and today we're going to be asking him some of your frequently asked questions.
*The interviewer turns to face Archstone, who sits in another chair. The camera pans out to show both of them. The interviewer and Archstone shake hands and then the questions begin.*
So Mr.Archstone, one of the more pressing questions fans want to know is why you chose to play as an offensive linemen. Was there any sort of inspiration that led you to it, or was it one of those things that just happened?
Well, I've always been a big man, and big men have to find ways to put that size to use. I've been a fan of football my whole life, and I wasn't about to let something as trivial as a number stop me from living the dream. Sure, being on the O-Line isn't the flashiest thing I can do or going to get me a ton of highlight reels, but you know what it is going to get me? Satisfaction. I get to take on some of the toughest men you'll see and throw them on their behinds protecting the stars of the show. Can't ask for much more than that.
If you could play any position besides offensive linemen, which position would you play?
The scouts ask about this one a lot, actually. After some thought on it, I'd say I'd play either defensive linemen or tight end. Really can't go wrong with either position, and both make use out of my current skill set, even if I'd have to work on adapting to the role a bit. Now I could have answered something like "Oh I'd love to be a Quarterback!", but to be honest, that's just not my kind of role. I want to be the big man knocking people down, it's what gets the blood pumping.
You recently made some tweets regarding nirvana, chakra, and meditating with waterfalls. Could you elaborate on these tweets?
So first of all, I'm a big believer that chakra is everything. If your body and mind can't open up and allow you to play at your best, you're just not going to play your best. People tell me all the time that this sounds like a load of baloney, but would I have made it this far otherwise? The answer is no, no I wouldn't. Meditation has defined me and my play-style. Balance in all things is important.
But enough about that, because I could go on and on about my feelings on it all day. The real juice of this question, lies in the waterfalls. Now, I cheat a little bit on this one, but I've got one of those pools, you know, that forms like a cave, and has water running off of it. I set up this little barrier I can sit on, and I just meditate under where the water falls. It gives me the feeling of true peace like nothing else can. Now preferably, you would use a real waterfall, one that won't kill you especially, but if you can't than there's no shame in improvising.
Moving on, you only managed to start for two out of your four seasons with the Gators. Do you feel like you had enough time to prove yourself to the scouts, or do you feel like you needed more time?
I'll be honest, no one ever wants to be told that they're second in something. But I feel like the balance of playing backup for two years, and starter for the final two was the greatest balance I could ask for. I had a ton of time to just learn what I could, and then a ton of time to put it into action. I can't say for sure if I'd be a more valuable prospect if I started for longer, but I can say that I don't feel robbed in any way. I gave it my all no matter the playtime I got, and I'm going to keep giving it my all once I hit the field with my next team.
Well put. Now, do you think you can give the fans any insight into how the scouting process is going? Anything juicy you want to lay out?
Heh, well you know I can't say anything like that. But what I can say, is that every team I've met with has been absolutely wonderful, and it makes me excited for what's to come. The people in the DSFL are a great and passionate bunch, and I'm hoping to bring that same passion to whatever team decides to pick me up.
For the last question I'll hit you with a fun one, but could you tell the fans the story with your hair?
It's cute, right? Even got these little bows in my hair. They're great.
But seriously, as a man with a passion in hair-care and hair fashion, I wanted to go all out. And if hair that has cat ears coming out of it isn't all out, I don't know what is! People keep telling me it looks exactly like the hair of some cartoon character that was popular when I was young. Apparently the guy was named Felix too? I haven't looked into it myself, but if it is true, it's merely a coincidence. I take pride in this style of mine and its uniqueness. I'm sure my future locker room buddies will have a lot of fun talking about it, but at the end of the day they'll come to respect the drip. Maybe they'll even ask me to style their hair like mine! But no really, the hair's cute and I'll gladly rock it just for that.
Thank you for answering, Mr.Archstone! I would not be surprised if we saw some fans popping up with hair likes yours in the future! That being said, that's all the time we have for this interview, but we appreciate your time!
Pleasure's all mine! I'll be looking forward to your call after the draft to talk about my impending domination in the DSFL!
*The two shake hands once again and the interview stream cuts to black*
