A discussion of my fellow OL Prospects
This season there are a whopping 17 (!!!) Offensive Line Prospects. I personally chose OL because I thought there would be the least competition for playing time. I have been hoodwinked, bamboozled, lead astray, run amok and flat out deceived! Despite this surprise, I’m excited to dive into the facts about these 17 prospects, my opinions on them, some analysis regarding their futures, and finally a prospect grade. These are just my opinions, based on the information I could find floating around the forum. Apologies if anything here is wrong.
My analysis of the prospects in no particular order
1. Macho Weber:
Facts:
Macho comes into the league with a strong base TPE allocation. 77 Strength and 70 in run and pass blocking gives him one of the best foundations in the class. Undersized at 329 lbs, he’ll need to bulk out those last 11 pounds to fulfil his potential.
Opinions:
With no activity on mweber022’s account since July 21st, the day it was first created, there is concern about the future of Macho Weber. He did claim his free first training and activity check, but it would take a massive turnaround for the user if Macho is to be a serious prospect. Due to Macho’s lack of updates page, it is impossible to follow his development after his first 50 TPE, which limits GMs ability to scout him, lowering his draft stock.
Analysis:
A strong start is seemingly thrown away by the user becoming inactive after only a few posts. Unless the user comes back, Macho Weber is a filler player at best.
Grade: D-
2. Swantavious Jones
Facts:
Swantavious Jones, played by the aptly named user Swanty, smartly utilized the free player archetype change that is available for rookies to change from Pass Blocker to Athletic. It is my understanding that Athletic is the best archetype, so this shows both great sim knowledge to realize a change was needed, and great rules knowledge to know that this change is possible. He has gained a prodigious amount of TPE since joining the forum, leaving Swantavious at a whopping 86 strength, and 70 run and pass blocking. His agility and speed are both 50, which leaves a little to be desired, but when you’re this big and this strong, sacrifices must be made somewhere.
Opinions:
Swanty has a real gem of a player here, and the ISFL have a real gem of a user, it seems. With 25 posts in under two weeks, he definitely is setting himself up to be one of the most active users on the forum. He’s already written some media as well, showing his commitment to maximizing his earnings.
Analysis:
Swantavious Jones is a beast of a prospect and very well may be the first OL prospect off the board. Between great stat allocations, consistent posting in the forums, and commitment to earning, he has risen to the challenge of the DSFL draft.
Grade: A+
3. Smitty McGhee
Facts:
Smitty is going all in on run blocking with 80, followed by 70 strength. He has a dismal 50 Pass blocking, which will severely limit his effectiveness as an OL throughout his career, barring some major improvements in that department. Additionally, he weighs in at 333 pounds, which is slightly less than ideal. User Nowordofalie has made 5 posts, which is a solid amount for a newbie here.
Opinions:
Min maxing might be a viable strategy in RPGs and MMOs, but I am not convinced that it is the best approach to creating an ISFL player. I have seen this sentiment echoed in other draft rankings and on the OL discord. 65 Intelligence is far too high for a player who claims to be from Constantinople, Turkey, as that city has not existed since 1930. Nowordofalie may have made five posts on the forums but has not posted since July 26th. Any gap in posting is a slight concern, but when a new user has not posted in almost a week, one has to consider if they lost interest and went permanently inactive.
Analysis:
Smitty McGhee’s questionable focus on solely Run Blocking might serve him well in the run focused DSFL but may hamper him in the long term. Additionally, with questions about the user’s activity, Smitty does not size up as a major prospect.
Grade: D+
4. Kentdavion “Davie” Davis
Facts:
Davie Davis is built like a stud OL at 6’6” 340 lbs. With a run blocking archetype, Davie will face similar problems to Smitty McGhee. Davie rolls in with 79 Run Blocking, 70 Strength, and 65 Pass Blocking. These stats are a solid foundation, but his 40 Speed and 45 Agility will need addressing quickly, as DTs and DEs in the DSFL and ISFL will simply run around him. This is an easy fix though, since the TPE cost for upping stats that low is negligible.
Opinions:
This is an interesting approach to building a player. Allegedly, the DSFL is extremely run-focused, so raising Run Blocking initially can make a more effective player, and then the user can round out their player to make them more ready for the ISFL. I’m not sold on this approach, but it seems feasible. User JMUfan17 has only made one post, but it was on 7/30 so there is still a solid chance they can go on to become an active user.
Analysis:
Davie Davis is an interesting prospect that could very well go on to have a good career in the DSFL and ISFL. He has an unorthodox build, but it could play off in the long term. JMUfan17 started later than some other users, missing out on some vital TPE, but in the grand scheme of things, it shouldn’t matter too much.
Grade: B-
5. Ninton Quelson
Facts:
Ninton Quelson is a technician archetype OL. He has a great initial build at 72 strength, and 70 run blocking, pass blocking, and endurance. This build, combined with a weight of 340 pounds, is the solid start that GMs look for in the DSFL. These early good decisions can be parleyed into a long and successful career as an OL.
Opinions:
WailingOtter has started off solidly with Ninton Quelson, not only thinking of a great name but also using the initial 50 TPE to build the prototypical OL prospect. Unfortunately, Ninton hails from America’s stinky armpit: New Jersey, so he may be a locker room issue, Jury’s still out on that one. WailingOtter made 8 posts in his first two days of membership to the forum but hasn’t posted since. While the 8 posts is promising, the almost two weeks without a post will raise some eyebrows during scouting.
Analysis:
Ninton Quelson and WailingOtter did everything right initially but seem to have flamed out. It’s not impossible that WailingOtter will come back, however it does seem unlikely. Quelson is a decent player, but without an active user behind him, his career potential is very limited.
Grade: C-
6. Marlon Alexander
Facts:
Marlon Alexander is another prospect that has a perfect use of their initial 50 TPE. What sets Marlon Alexander apart from the other prospects with a good foundation is the TPE they’ve earned and allocated in their time on the board. 49 TPE gained in two weeks is nothing to sneeze at. This improvement puts him at 80 Strength, 75 Run Blocking, 60 Pass Blocking, and 57 Speed; a very good start.
Opinion:
Platanocat is a very active user with 22 posts in two weeks, and posts regularly on the various ISFL associated discords. I actually talked to him for a bit and he seems like a really nice guy. This high level of activity coupled with the aforementioned TPE earnings really raises his draft stock. He’s also already put out a media piece and has a well edited profile picture that leads me to believe they have some ability as a graphics creator, showing that he has the potential to be a big earner in the league.
Analysis:
Marlon Alexander and user platanocat seem like a lock for being one of the first OL prospects off the board in the DSFL draft. Marlon is a talented player, which is supplemented by platanocat having a high earnings potential and being active on the forums and discord.
Grade: A+
7. Connor Quigley
Facts:
Connor Quigley is a 330-pound run blocker out of UMASS Amherst. Although he’s slightly under the ideal weight of 340 pounds, he can bulk up to the max quickly once he’s on a DSFL meal plan. Like all the other Run Blocking archetype OL prospects, the lack of pass blocking is a concern. With a measly 56 Pass Blocking and a questionable 40 speed, Connor has several holes in his game that need to be addressed before he can make it big time.
Opinions:
Connor’s user, WhatAmUs, has made six total posts. These include activity checks, trainings, and most impressively: making a wiki page. Not only does a wiki page make players 200% cooler, it’s also a source of 10 TPE. This is a great indication of activity and dedication to the forums. GMs love players that earn TPE.
Analysis:
Connor Quigley might not be the perfect player, but his user, WhatAmUs, is very active across the forum. This activity points towards a good future for the player, who should be able to grow past their run blocker archetype into a great player for whichever team drafts him.
Grade: B+
8. Clay Stallworth
Facts:
Clay Stallworth is another prospect whose user could very well be a veteran in disguise. He has a great build with his initial 50 TPE and has earned a respectable amount of TPE through forum tasks like the rookie point task and making a wiki page. Coupled with being a big, beefy man of 340 pounds, he really is a great prospect. 75 Strength, 70 Pass Blocking, and 65 Run Blocking add up to a very well-rounded player.
Opinions:
As I previously mentioned, user Gravtx is fairly active, making 15 posts since July 20th. Some of these posts are very high quality as well, such as making a wiki and writing a media piece. He most recently posted yesterday, so that’s a promising sign for his future activity. He hasn’t quite maximized his TPE yet, but he’s doing a good job so far.
Analysis:
Clay Stallworth is a well-built prospect, and Gravtx seems to be a dedicated user who will make a great addition to this forum. This combines into a great prospect who GMs should be tripping over each other to draft.
Grade: A
9. Felix Archstone
Facts:
GilmsTC’s Felix Archstone already has a whopping 99 TPE, putting him right in the mix as the most skilled OL prospect. He’s a mega strong boy, at 81 strength, and he has 70 intelligence, pass blocking, and run blocking. He’s a well-rounded prospect, but he needs to work on his speed, which is a measly 35.
Opinions:
GlimsTC has earned a plethora of TPE already, 49 to be precise, which is very impressive and will be catching the eyes of GMs everywhere. On top of this, he’s quite the photo editor; it takes a lot of talent to photoshop anime hair/ ears onto a big, beefy OL body. Finally, he’s written a media piece. Between these talents, he’s poised to be a high earner in the league. His 32 posts since July 20th is another highlight, showing how active he is.
Analysis:
Felix Archstone is a very talented player and has a very active and dedicated user behind him. They seem to have a long and successful future ahead of them in the DSFL and ISFL.
Grade: A+
10. Hank Antilles
Facts:
Hank Antilles is a similar prospect to Ninton Quelson; used their first 50 TPE effectively and hit the ground running, gaining some TPE in their first week, but has since burned out and may be inactive. 77 Strength is among the highest in the class, 70 in run and pass blocking is a solid use of his TPE. His alma mater is Sarah Lawrence, which I don’t believe has a football team, so I’m excited to see how he fares in a competitive football environment.
Opinion:
As mentioned, user Turpentine made 7 posts on the forum since joining on July 20th but has been inactive since July 23rd. This is a solid couple posts a day, but with an absence of over a week, one has to wonder if he has gone inactive for good.
Analysis:
A good start to building a player is ultimately going to be wasted unless Turpentine shows up again and becomes an active member of the community. Even without an active user, Hank Antilles is a decent player who could contribute to his team for a little while, although his active peers will soon surpass him.
Grade: C
11. Adam Mellott
Facts:
75 Strength, 75 Pass Blocking, 70 Run Blocking, and 62 Endurance combines into a very solid start for the player. He is well balanced and continually earning TPE to improve his player. Another player who realized the need to bulk up, he is gaining weight up to the weight limit of 340 pounds, proving his dedication to the position.
Opinion:
User GuitarMaster116 (can you play wonderwall, bro?) has already earned 34 TPE, which is fairly impressive. Also, they have averaged a post a day since joining the forum, posting as recently as today. No media or graphics production yet, but there still is time.
Analysis:
While 34 TPE is a good start, there’s still plenty of unearned TPE out there such as creating a wiki, which is holding back Adam from being a true blue chip prospect. Also, his lack of graphics and media leaves me slightly concerned for his earning potential. He’s still a solid prospect who, with some nurturing, can blossom into a good player
Grade: B
12. Joe Show
Facts:
Another weight gainer, he’s showing dedication. In addition, he has 80 strength, 70 pass and run blocking, and 65 endurance. These stats are an impressive start and he very well could be on the way to having a great player.
Opinions:
User Jguy is in a similar place to GuitarMaster116; has earned a decent chunk of TPE but has not maximized their earnings there. Additionally, there is a lack of media and graphics output, which is concerning regarding their future earnings potential.
Analysis:
Same as Jguy, good start, needs some nurturing, is already a decent prospect who could become good.
Grade: B
13. Sterling Moss
Facts:
75 Strength, 70 Pass blocking, 68 Run Blocking. Good start. Has only earned 7 TPE, which is low and could be a concern going forward.
Opinions:
Sterling Moss is a great name (after the legendary Formula One driver, I presume). User SportingMoose is seemingly still active, last going online on July 30th. They have 8 posts which is an acceptable amount, but they need to step it up to differentiate themselves in this large OL class.
Analysis:
Another player who used their base 50 TPE smartly, but has not maximized their TPE earning, nor have they ventured into the world of graphics and media, which could be a concern to GMs, who want players with high earning potential.
Grade: B
14. Marc Hamel
Facts:
The Quebecois big boy is a very good prospect. Similar TPE allocation to many of the other prospects, 75 Strength, 70 Run and Pass Blocking, and 60 Endurance. This is a solid build that can be supplanted with sufficient TPE earnings. He’s completed tasks such as the rookie point task, so he seems to be well on the way. This effort needs to be increased, however, as he is lagging behind the other top OL prospects.
Opinions:
Marc, and User lespoils, have a twitter account, which is basically a license to print money in this world. This combined with some TPE earning gives them some upside. No media or graphics though, so this is less than idea for any GM interested in them
Analysis:
Marc, like many others, has a solid foundation that is not being capitalized on well enough. He has an active user, so This could be fixed. Right now, however, they need to step up the TPE gain and start churning out some media to make a statement in this crowded OL class.
Grade: B
15. Ananda Adyan
Facts:
Boasting one of the highest TPEs in the class, Adyan is a top prospect that will have GMs drooling. 80 Strength, 75 Pass Blocking, 70 Run Blocking, and 64 Endurance packs a punch that will make any team better.
Opinions:
User TMosura is one of the most active users that I have stalked… I mean researched for this article. 25 posts since July 20th is extremely impressive. Made even more so by his multiple pieces of media and graphics he has produced. TMosura is a real gem of a member for the ISFL.
Analysis:
A great player and a great user, it’s a match made in heaven. Great dedication and incredible earning potential through their multiple money-making ventures on the forums. Very well could be the first OL prospect off the board.
Grade A++
16. Hugh McGree
Facts:
77 Strength, 70 Pass and Run blocking. You know the deal if you’ve read this far.
Opinions:
The user has posted 6 times, but none since July 22nd. Very well could be inactive.
Analysis:
Probably inactive user who built an ok player.
Grade: D-
17. Chuck Roth
Facts:
Ok this is me, so I won’t pretend to be unbiased. I have 98 TPE and increasing, as I forgot to add a few little things like the mock draft prediction thread.
Opinions:
I’m pretty active in checking the forums. Big discord channels are intimidating, but I try to post in them occasionally. I have no graphics talent, but this is a 3000-word piece of media that I've spent six hours researching and writing, so I’ve got something going for me
Analysis:
An active user with a seemingly well build player. Decent earning potential coupled with dedication to the forum.

Opinions:
The user has posted 6 times, but none since July 22nd. Very well could be inactive.

Grade: A+
