An Introduction to Timmy Dimbi

Timmy Dimbi is a young defensive tackle out of Notre Dame from Buffalo, New York. As a Buffalonian, Dimbi’s allegiances lie with the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills of course. Dimbi was always a big boy and was head and shoulders above everyone at school throughout his life. While being big, Dimbi also had the athleticism and strength that made him the perfect football type. During his early years, his parents enrolled him in football as early as he could. When it was not football season, he was playing flag football. His father, Jimmy was an avid football fan and it was football for life. The Dimbi family is a known catholic family and both of Timmy’s parents are teachers. The family is active in the catholic community in Buffalo as well as at Canisius High School where Timmy attended school. Family is extremely important to Timmy and when asked about his family Timmy had this to say:

"I know a lot of my life has revolved around football, but my parents have been a great influence on me. Not only have they instilled football into me but how important school is and more importantly how to be a great person. At the end of the day, football is secondary to being a good person. Becoming a professional football player would be a dream but at the same time, I want to follow in my parent's footsteps in becoming a teacher. I have a passion for teaching others and being a positive influence on others. I want to make a difference in this work. I do not know if I can do both football and teach but I can certainly try my best to make both happen."

Growing up as a Bills fan one would think Timmy would want to become a Buffalo Bill, but it seems as though Timmy has gone a different direction. Timmy has always been a huge fan of school which is why he went the NCAA route for college football. While school is his number one priority, football was important as well. His NFL aspirations kind of went down the drain when he made his intentions of continuing school to become a teacher. But it seems as though a different league has come calling.

"I kind of heard about this league through some friends and thought it was interesting. I did not really know if I even wanted to give it a shot, but I thought why not? After talking to a few people, it seems as though it is flexible enough for me to pursue both football and education. I am looking forward to this new opportunity that has come my way."

For now, Timmy Dimbi will have to wait and see if he gets picked up on waivers by a DSFL team, and then his journey to the ISFL will begin. If he is not picked up then maybe his destiny is to be in fact a teacher like his parents. Dimbi is hopeful someone will pick him up and give him a chance to succeed and become a good ISFL player.
