Ask me questions! I’ve never done this before but I’ll try my best!
Can be about me, my player, the ISFL, DSFL, or just my opinions.
Questions can be either in character or out of character.
Thank you in advance! <3
Alright. It's been a day and I've got my brewski. Let's jam.
Answers:
As one of the rare people who goes IA and then comes back to become a basically near-max earner, what was that process like for you? Did anything convince you to come back in particular? What kind of different viewpoint do you feel like that experience gives you compared to other highly-active users in the league?
2) What are you then? Are you a man with abnormally large arms trapped in a refrigerator?
3) How do you move? Do you have wheels? Do you propel yourself forward with your arms?

- Let's see. I guess I would have to say that the reason I initially went IA was because the vastness of the league was a bit overwhelming. I don't know a TON about football and was a little thrown off about how much everyone knew about positional strategies, stat sheets, playbooks and all of that. Plus there were just way more people here that I originally thought. When I told my team in a closed channel that I was going IA, I was super surprised that both my GMs, as well as some of the older users all reached out to me to see if I was okay and if I would ever be coming back. That really touched me. I think it was around that time when I realized there are some really genuine people here and it was okay to make friends in this league. Now that I've been around for three seasons, I feel like I've settled in a bit. I'm getting used to how things run here and am even starting to find some places where I can help. I can only speculate as to why other max earners are as active as they are, but I would like to think they recognize how special some of the people make this place and want to contribute to it's perseverance as well.
- Haha! With some of the stuff that goes on in some of the other DSFL teams, I can only imagine what would cause London to not be a team anymore. I love London and would love to come back my second time around. I also know though that it's not always possible. Who knows, by the time I retire the stereotypes we currently have for each DSFL team will probably be completely different. As to where I would want to go, I think that might depend heavily on which of my friends are where at the time. I've always respected Portland and Kansas City for what they are. Maybe I would try starting in one of those places. As for now though both are still smelly.
- I actually JUST signed my extension today! So I have three more seasons at least with my gorilla gang. I love the people that are there now and am happy that I was able to participate in building a team from the very beginning. A lot of how the league views your team is dependent on setting that initial bar, especially on team culture. I think now I can understand Duke and Deadly's continued love for the Royals since having a stake in it's initial success. Nevertheless, I think it would be closed minded to say I would never want to play on any other team. There are a lot of cool GMs and LRs in the league. I honestly think I would try to make the most out of being with any of the existing teams. Maaaaybe I lean more towards Sarasota, Berlin, or Orange County. Any place that really has an active and healthy locker room at the time.
- Okay so there is this smaller restaurant called Cervantes. The company is a regional favorite in salsa making and they have a single dining location in the older part of Albuquerque. The outside honestly looks kind of ghetto, but on the inside it's a fancy tablecloth kind of place. Don't sit in the main dining area though. Off to the side is another entrance that opens up to a dimly lit but quaint cantina area with semi-circular booths. There is a modern jukebox where you can request almost anything, and the sweet old lady who runs the place always dresses up the place with cute seasonal decorations. I ALWAYS get the carne adovada tacos and order several drinks. I've taken several dates there and it's always a hit!
- We're good teammates and you're a cool person. Let's just stay friends though.
- Ice cream! Definitely ice cream! Cookies and cream is my favorite. I used to be the team gatorade cooler in college. Those were dark times.
- When I first heard about the new trains for the new version of the sim, I was so excited! All the positions are getting cool new things! Then there were a few articles written about the more experienced members, simmers, and transfer team that also hyped up the new traits. Then WHAM. We got the bad news. The Tenacious Blocker trait is 150 TPE??? AND they have minimum requirements to even purchase them! I won't be able to get the new trait for like two more seasons! Some of the other positions have traits that only cost 50 TPE. I just hope that the OL one makes as much of a difference to make it worth it. Maybe I'll scope around and see if any of the OL vets were able to buy it immediately and track how they do this season.
- Marlon Alexander is a professional football player. He has no need for puny construction designer salaries. He makes millions just for answering people's questions! Maybe he'll consider it after retirement though.
- Yes. Me. I am the reliable refrigerator brand for the New York Silverbacks. I judge other appliances not by their utility, but by their heart and determination!
- Oh my gosh. HELL YES. I am of the opinion that this league needs more appliance players and less human players. Who the hell wants to tackle a fridge or freezer? Nobody that's who. Tell them to contact me, I would be more than happy to give them a few on field tips.
- Holy hell I am so freaking stocked for the Ravens to have made it this far. No matter what happens on Saturday, we finally shut some people up by winning our first playoff game with Lamar. The Bills are so surprisingly good this season! I totally respect their efforts and feel like they deserve to be where they are in the playoffs. I'm not a football expert in any way. If I had to guess though, I would expect this to be a very close game with back and forth scoring drives. In my Pick 'Em league, like 75% of people have the Bills to win. I have to go with my team winning, although I'm going to say only by a single score.
- Personally, this is my last season of my contract. However, I just signed for three more seasons with New York! So, I am very much a believer. Woelkers is a smart GM, and I'm super excited to have Zayn involved now. With the new sim and growing pains for the whole league, this season might be one of those where anything could happen. I am REALLY proud of what we were able to accomplish this season though and everyone has been working really hard over the offseason to update, transfer, and stack more TPE. I have high hopes and high expectations for us this season.
- Oh wow. I honestly haven't thought about that too much yet. Ultimus trophies are no joke! However my team does, I'll have been glad to be a part of it since the very beginning. That being said, you sure as hell know I would love to have won the Ultimus at least once before I retire.
- Is this a trick question? I am a refrigerator. I don't even have legs. Why the hell would I be wearing pants? What the hell are pockets even for? I would imagine if one hand is hypothetically in a pocket, the other hand would just be flailing around in the air not sure what to do with itself.
- The man cannon? The dude is super cool. He's been voted team offensive captain the very first two years of the Silverbacks' existence. Regardless of his statistical successes, he's already cemented his place among team legends. As an offensive lineman, I have made it my goal to help Howitzer take way less sacks than he did last season. And with the team we're building, I think we can make that happen.
- I've gotten this question several times before in the past. Is it difficult to move? Not at all. However, that IS the beauty of being an interior offensive lineman. I don't have to! I just have to use my big arms to protect Howitzer long enough to let him do his thing, and we're golden!
- Well as an OL, of course I am biased. Defensive line gets more praise because they get all the stats. But here's the thing. If your team doesn't have a solid OL squad, it becomes painfully apparent REALLY fast. My point is: not everyone always appreciates offensive line, but they sure as hell miss us when we're not there.
- I am sooo excited for the new sim. I've only caught one of the prospect bowl games so far while the simmers were testing a few of the preferred settings, but it looks a lot cleaner! I like how it's a little easier to track the ball on screen now! I guess my only complaint so far was that the pop up windows for the plays was a little distracting. I wonder if that is a setting that can be toggled off? To answer the second part of your question, I feel like I haven't been able to really dive into what the differences are for the other positions. With the transfer deadline fast approaching I was very much focused on trying to pick my own archetype! I feel like a lot of the league is excited about their individual position upgrades and traits. I know several people are already swapping positions before the season starts! That should tell you how stoked people are for the new sim.
- Ah yes. What a thoughtful question. I'm not a HUGE fan of olives. At least green olives. I've never had a martini with olives! So I'm not sure, maybe I'll like it? I do know that black olives on pizza are pretty bomb.
- So if I'm being completely honest, I don't really care about awards too much. As I believe I mentioned before, I don't really know a whole lot about the intricacies of football strategy. Tracking player stats is also kind of in that same vein for me. I think that's why I like OL. I only have to track pancakes and sacks allowed! I feel like a lot of the people who won were really deserving. Some of the big names were ones that everyone recognized. I know awards are a really touchy subject for some around the league though. So I guess: congratulations to those who won, and you got robbed to those who didn't. There. I played both sides so no matter what I'll come out the winner.
- London had a bad offensive line after I left? Huh. Maybe the war room shouldn't have passed up on Alexander Hordle instead of exiling him to Minnesota. Don't worry though. I am in the war room now. OL will be in the picture going forward.
- Oh I totally agree. I know that the Silverbacks were the victims to home field advantage point swings several times. But I guess lots of teams say that. I would like to think that after five years of improving the program, Wolverine Studios were able to fine tune their product some more. As someone who loves the casino, I do love the upsets though!
- Hmm. I'm not sure if I really have a favorite accent. I do love how this league brings together people from all over the world to communicate over discord. I have definitely learned some new phrases. I'm sure many people know my buddy Simo. I love that when he has a few beers, he calls it 'sinking some tins'. I don't know why I love that phrase so much. Just an example though.
- Okay so in real life, I have never been to London, England. I love big cities though and I would love to have the opportunity to visit some day! I also love history, and the UK has no shortage of that. My family had to live in Arkansas for a bit for work. They hated it. So I wouldn't wish that on anyone. I have never been to Ohio, but I would imagine London Ohio would relatively similar to London Arkansas. Norway would probably be my only other alternative. I've only heard cool things about Norway, and if GeoGuesser has taught me anything, it's that Norway is definitely beautiful.
- So I'm not really much of a holiday person. So I have this ritual of watching the Matrix trilogy every Xmas. Is it a Christmas movie? Not at all. But to me it is. Knock, knock Neo.
- I LOVE this league so far. I am not in any other sim league, so I don't know. Maybe this one actually sucks since I have nothing to compare it to. I don't think so though. The people I've met here have become some real friends of mine who I love and care about. This came especially well for me during a trying year like 2020. I feel like many of us here where in the same boat. Regardless, I am having fun here and I expect to stick around for a while.
- UH YEAH. The New York Silverbacks of course! No, I imagine this question was meant to be about other teams that I'm not on. I really rooted for Orange County this season. I don't really know too many people on that team, but during the fantasy draft I ended up with a lot of their players on my team. I never hear about issues in their locker room either. So they must have a pretty solid culture. Berlin and Sarasota are supposed to be rivals, but I have many friends on those teams so I always still root for them to do well.
- So I've been IA before and I honestly missed this place after a few weeks. I don't anticipate being IA in the foreseeable future. Therefore, I plan on being pretty active. I'll be honest. I am super bored most of the time. I enjoy hopping around in the various locker rooms that I'm in or writing things up like this presser media. It gives me a chance to (virtually) socialize as well as serves it's purpose as a healthy creative outlet.
- I think that at this point, the only thing keeping me from max earning is a few of the straggling PT tasks that I missed. I hope to remedy that this season, and then in the future by moving up in my updater job to get that sweet, sweet PT pass. I do love the change this season to being able to make several weeks predictions all at once. I think that was one of my biggest culprits of missed TPE early on. Hopefully being around the league for several seasons will also help me make better picks! I also will say that being involved more in league jobs, war rooms, and just simply being more attentive will help me catch all the other various TPE tasks that sometimes get missed.
- OL is definitely one of those positions that is hard to gain a ton of recognition in. I knew this early on so I didn't ever set out to make any personal awards or anything. With the new sim coming out, I just REALLY want that Tenacious Blocker trait. It's the perfect goal since it's so far away, but also something that I will be able to chip away at. I mean, I need something like 300 more TPE. By the time I get the trait, I'm sure I'll have a few other goals in mind.
- I actually explored swapping positions this offseason to meet some team needs. Ultimately there is a greater need for me to stay where I am at. I love OL anyways. It's easy to understand. I think in the future I might try something else for a recreate. I like the idea of being a running back. I'm not set on that though and retirement is a while away still. I think if I can continue to keep up my max earning pace, I would like to pick an offensive position that can not only get some stats, but can also be picked in fantasy. This career will be all about team success. Maybe in the next life I can afford to be a little more selfish.
- I have absolutely no experience with the new sim. Funnily enough, the London has a sim school. I had JUST learned how to operate DDSPF16 last season. I knew the upgrade was coming. I just thought it would be interesting to learn a bit about what the inner workings of simming works. I did learn a lot! So I won't completely write off obtaining and learning DDSPF21 just yet.
- I totally love team friendly contracts. I usually try to take the required minimum salary. I feel appreciated enough by my team. I would like to see them utilize our cap space on sweetening the pot for some free agents or getting some badass bots at our positions of need. What good is a fat contract if your team can't succeed. My only real requirement is the tampering clause. I absolutely have no plans on leaving New York at this point (in fact I have a not trade clause), but I like the idea of being tampered. I also hate seeing people get fined for tampering. It's so needless and it feels good to be head hunted. It makes you feel like you're doing a good job. So I guess my main reason for having the tamper clause is out of protest. If enough people eventually are legally tamperable, tampering fines will be a thing of the past.
- It is no secret that I loved my DSFL team. I was able to spend two seasons on the Royals and I had a blast. We got one Ultimini trophy and came so close to getting a second one. I do feel for people that want to see their player in the big leagues though. I get it. I will say though that it was super fun to finally un-bank all that saved up TPE I had after hitting the cap. There was some conversation about potentially having incremental DSFL cap increases for each season a player spends down in the minor leagues. This is an interesting proposal and something that I believe HO should investigate further.
- I feel at this point I know Joe pretty well. He's my buddy and helped me win my very first fantasy season! Keep being you man. You're a smart dude and I expect great things from you.
- Oh boy. I think it's impossible to have just one. I love a lot of music and won't list it all here. I feel like different bands and songs fit a very distinct mood that we happen to be in at the time. You could have a favorite band but sometimes you're just not into it. If you can read the room and set the mood with songs, you will be a karaoke master.
- Just like music, each one fits a specific mood and purpose. If I'm making mix drinks, I love using Coke. It doesn't overpower the drink's flavor. If I'm just having a regular soda, Pepsi is my preferred choice. I think it might be because it's sweeter.
- So back in the day of PS3 and Black Ops II, it was high school and we had one friend who had his own apartment. A bunch of friends and I loved to bring several consoles over and all play as a giant party. It was awesome! I remember I was trying my damnedest to come up with a username but everything I came up with was taken. I had a buddy who's name was BananaGato. He finally convinced me to try the opposite of his name: platanocat. IT WORKED!! Ten years later I still enter in platanocat as my username whenever I have to make one and it's always available. So to this day it's still my 'go to'.
- Didn't you win an award? Joe had one hell of a season. Like I said before you helped me win my first fantasy season! If you didn't win an award I will make you one.
- Zayn is a cool guy and one of my original Season 25 buddies. I am so stoked that he is now part of the S25 GM club! He get's to help lead a team who is just starting out too! So I believe this is his chance. I am really excited for this season and feel like he will do a good job. I fully support him and will help in any way I can.
- Oh man, London was cold and gray all the time. It feels so good to hop back across the pond and move somewhere where it's cold and gray all the time. Joking aside, I love big cities. They have all the urban amenities and conveniences! Good think I didn't get signed to some rural place. But then again I guess most teams are based in pretty large metropolitan areas.
- I have no idea why Daybe chooses to use light mode. Like... that's not even a default setting. He has to literally go out of his way to hurt himself. Maybe he's sick. Should we have an intervention? I'll have to confer with our war room and get back to you one this one.
- Gunpowder, strawberries, and tenacity. I'm not sure what tenacity smells like. I guess sweat. Howitzer smells like sweat.
- I prefer to view myself as a cat first, banana second. Mainly because catplatano doesn't really roll off the tongue as well.
- Listen, we should probably just stay friends.
- I am a fully sentient appliance humanoid. I can think and feel just like a human, but I can also keep food and beverages cool while maintaining a Sears 5-star energy saver rating.
2) What are you then? Are you a man with abnormally large arms trapped in a refrigerator?
- Not Applicable
3) How do you move? Do you have wheels? Do you propel yourself forward with your arms?
- I do not have wheels, that would be dumb. I also do not crawl with my hands like a geodude or something. I stealthily and nimbly tilt and scoot like a popsicle stick man. If I keep dumping my TPE into the Speed and Agility buckets, I will soon be able to just scoot and wobble... faster.
- You can get with my personal trainer for the more specific details. I can get you their number. I can try to break it down for you though. Everyone puts condiments, drinks, or whatever else in the door compartments inside their refrigerator right? Well, I have a vigorous workout routine that involves putting weights inside my door, and then opening and closing it repeatedly until I pass out. It has worked well for me so far.
- My sweet beautiful mother was a thwomp.
