This is an appeal from the Chicago Butcher's GMs @Muford and @Bayley. Original punishment can be found here.
The Appeals Team agrees with the Head Office that both the user @Leafer and the ISFL team, the Chicago Butchers, agreed to an illegal contract. However, due to the timing and order of the events that occurred, the Appeals Team came to a unanimous decision that it appears to be an honest mistake, and was in no way an attempt to circumvent contract minimums. There is no denying that Chicago did, in fact, benefit by paying a player less than is required by league rules, and the GMs are to blame for the mistake. It's also worth noting that the Budget Team initially approved the contract, but did later discover the error after the season. As such, the Appeals Team has voted 7-0 to amend the punishment handed out by the Head Office.
It is the recommendation of the Appeals Team that Chicago be fined $2,000,000 to their salary cap for S27 (double the difference in what the contract minimum should have been), and user @Leafer have his 38 TPE returned. Furthermore, Chicago must amend year 3 of user @Leafer's contract to meet his new salary minimum of $5,000,000 a season.
