The new season is upon us and just around the corner! Upon joining my new ISFL team and being grateful at a chance to play, I wanted to get familiar with everyone on the roster and to put myself in GM mode to analyze the team and see what the depth chart might look like based on the information available to me in the team roster section. I hope you enjoy the included Otter gifs along the way!
The Otters have a top tier quarterback in Ramza as their field general and the quarterback from the UK brings a near maxed out build so I’m excited to see how he does on the field. It’s obvious that the team will be passing heavy given Ramza’s ability to get the ball down field and the available weapons to him. I think Ramza is just entering his prime years so I’m very excited to be there playing alongside him.
Running Backs: Bronko Mills – 311 TPE, Ace Savage – 304 TPE
This is probably our weakest point on offense since Nakamura was traded. There may be hope in the run game here with the new sim. It’s a brand new world and we don’t really know how things are going to play out once it comes time to sim the season. Bronko Mills will be playing fullback and has great strength, speed, hands, and some decent blocking so I see him being fully utilized on every play regardless of option. For myself, I think the power back build will help us get some of those short yards needed for a first down and provide some blocking ability myself. I’ve got a long way to go to be a lead back but I’m excited to keep working towards earning more TPE.
Wide Receivers: Owen Holloway – 624 TPE, Garfield Despacito Jr. – 929 TPE
There are 2 strong options at receiver with Despacito Jr. leading the way. Most teams would probably field 3 receivers, but the Otters have 2 great tight ends so I see one of them being a good option and brings a unique strategy to the team’s offense. Despacito Jr. is a max speed receiver who’s sure to light up the fantasy numbers quickly. Holloway is a slot receiver who is maxed out in speed and hands himself so he’ll be another reliable target for Ramza.
Tight Ends: Heath Evans – 1188 TPE, Jeffrey Phillips – 820 TPE
A pair of high TPE tight ends give the Otters a unique and versatile offensive style since both are highly developed vertical threats who can catch and pass/run block well. I think this is what sets us apart from other offenses since there’s a lot of good opportunities in passing or running the ball here. Evans is a top tier tight end in the league and he’ll be a focal point of the offense for sure. Phillips provides a bit of everything to be our glue guy on offense.
Offensive Line: Lord Beerus – 717 TPE, Future Trunks – 926 TPE, Carl Wheezer – 498 TPE, Ne Mo – 422 TPE
I don’t quite get how the offensive line bots work, but I am glad to see that we’ve got 4 human offensive linemen. As a running back, I’m entirely dependent on these guys and they are the true stars of the offense. Beerus is a great tenacious blocker who’s going the center of the line. I think Trunks probably plays a guard position based on his athletic build. Wheezer and Ne Mo round out the linemen as maulers who can stop just about anyone coming forward with high strength. This is an impressive line for sure.
Holding the forefront of the Otters defense are two stout men. One is a tank and the other is a Goat. Scott is a rare combination of size, speed, and power and he’s the best defensive tackle the league has seen. With the new sim and his purchased traits, I fear anyone lining up against him. This man is a dream boat. Goat Tank isn’t far behind him either. The Goat has the speed rusher trait purchased and is just about maxed out which makes for an interesting combination of size and speed.
Defensive Ends: 3' Jeffrey – 444 TPE, Rapid Eagle – 1123 TPE
Joining our tackles on the defensive line for Jeffrey and Eagle. Jeffrey’s a strong power rusher with decent strength and speed that will do pretty well to stop runs and hopefully cause a few fumbles with his high competitive drive. Eagle is another power rusher with a close to maxed out build and some big traits to go along with it. I think we’ll see Eagle set some records in the new sim considering his bull rushing capability and competitor traits. These two make a good compliment to our tackles and may help bring a ton of pressure on blitzes.
Linebackers: Joseph Joestar – 823 TPE, Sergio Kitchens – 286 TPE, Deshun Jones – 1096 TPE
We’ve got a wide range of linebackers on defense with Jones leading the charge TPE wise but Joestar isn’t too far behind. Jones provides that crafty coverage and is one of the top linebackers in the league. He’s pretty much everything you could ask for in a linebacker and can do it all on defense. Joestar is a pass rusher with max speed and pairs nicely with the defensive ends that we have. I think he’s a great asset in the linebacker corp and gives the Otters defense a formidable blitz. Lastly, Sergio Kitchens is currently a balanced linebacker and fills in the gap that the Otters have for a third linebacker. He could probably slot in the backfield or weakside so we’ve got some great opportunities with him included.
Safeties: Eugene Smoothie – 1012 TPE, Bob Bob – 739 TPE, Prince Vegeta – 1347 TPE, Tyrone Biggums – 716 TPE
Four safeties! Oh my! It’s quite a party in the secondary, but I would venture to guess that some of these guys could flex into a WLB role or provide extra coverage in the middle. Vegeta is the top tier safety on Orange County and is a center fielder with max attributes. Smoothie is right there with them as another center fielder covering the back field and the pair are probably the starters on the team if I had to guess. I could see Bob and Biggums covering the nickelback position or assisting at linebacker to stack the box. I’m really psyched to see how all these guys do in the new sim since they are all high-level athletes.
Cornerbacks: Brandon Booker – 1223 TPE, Richard Leaking – 660 TPE
We finish off the defense with a pair of physical cornerbacks who won’t hesitate to play close and press when needed. Booker is one of the best cornerbacks in league history as a top athlete along with perceptive hands and high IQ plays. Leaking isn’t a slouch either and has the high speed and playmaking ability as well. You’ll be taking a big risk throwing to a receiver being covered by either of these guys for sure.
Kicker/Punter: Alex Dasistwirklichseinnachname – 161 TPE
The old man on the team, Dasist is an accurate kicker who is fighting father time. He’s still got it though, going 25/27 on field goals last season. He hasn’t converted as well on extra points last season going 89.8%. I think the old guy still has some more time left in the game and is still pretty consistent through and through.
