I want to welcome everybody to this bid for Sydney to be the host of the 30th Ultimus Bowl. This media piece will detail the answers to the major questions regarding this bid.
Provide the City that will hold the event.
The aforementioned Sydney is the greatest city in Australia [suck it Melbourne and Brisbane] and as a result is the most Ultimus ready city in the country.
Where will the event be held?
Sydney has a wide array of stadia that could potentially see the Ultimus played on their turf.
- The legendary and historic Sydney Cricket Ground which can hold 40,000 spectators and currently plays host to several teams in Rugby League, Rugby Union, Soccer, Australian Rules Football and of course Cricket. The venue is one of the closest to the centre of Sydney and is only 10-15 minutes away from Sydney Airport
- The currently being built New Sydney Football Stadium, the SFS was built next to the Sydney Cricket Ground and stood for 40 years until its demolition in 2018. Its replacement has been under constructed since and is due to be finished by the end of next year, at the commencement of the finals series. Could the Ultimus be the first event to open the brand new stadium?
- BankWest Stadium is a relatively new stadium built in Parramatta, the biggest city in Western Sydney and the second biggest CBD in all of Sydney. Featuring very steep seats leads to an amppitheatre of atmosphere with the roaring crowd very close to the sideline with no seat having a bad view.
- Finally we get to Stadium Australia, built for the 2000 Olympics. Originally with a capacity of 120,000 it was reduced post-olympics to about 87,000 and it stands at that. The biggest rectangular stadium in Australia would be a great setting for the Ultimus bowl.
As to which stadia would host the event, I will leave that decision to the Committee.
What connection does the City have with the league?
The city of Sydney currently hosts a team in the Developmental Simulation Football League, the Bondi Beach Buccaneers. Which move to Sydney a few years ago. The city has supported their local DSFL team and as a result feel their ready to bring the Ultimus Bowl to their city.
Logo – Rough Outline
For the logo for this bid we have combined iconic Sydney landmarks with football. The first is based on the sails of the Sydney Opera House and the 2nd the Arch of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. The colour scheme is based off the colours of Australia’s flag which will connect with the Americans. The text is basic but it gives the general idea of the logo.

Even though this work is glorious, it really was just me.
