So, I am new here but need money for equipment, and I hear there is extra the payout for draft related content. So he is my very uneducated Mock Draft. Now I have only basic knowledge of the league and am naïve, so go easy on me haha. This draft order came from a GM, so I'm taking it as the God's truth here. And I also don't know who teams have brewing in the DFSL waiting to make the jump up, so we're basing this on filling immediate needs.
1. Baltimore Hawks: This looks like a mighty fine draft with plenty of good quality skill up and down the first couple rounds. Baltimore goes with LB Sheriff Woody with the first pick. Maybe not currently the top TPE prospect at this point, they shore up a position that they only have 2 rostered players at right now. Great name too. I think they could also go Defensive Tackle, Quarterback or Cornerback here.
2. Honolulu Hahalua: Obvious need at the Quarterback position here, Joliet Christ Jr is bound for being a bust. But I think Honolulu gives him another shot and drafts a Safety to help out their lone aging player at the position. Miles Weperom is the leader in TPE and has been a bound and determined player at every level so far. This is an experienced secondary that needs an injection of youth and Miles will bring that in spades. Could also see them picking up a Wide Receiver.
3. Chicago Butchers via Philadelphia: Back to back picks is a huge boon for the Butchers. Also holding a later pick in this round too. Chicago can really make some noise here. So where do you go first? Maybe Quarterback with an aging starter? Maybe Receiver to give more weapons on offense? Offensive Line is a need, but that can wait for later in the round. Flip of the coin goes to Wide Receiver Jason Waterfalls, adding a young face to a bit of an aging offense.
4. Chicago Butchers: Chicago is up again with a shiny new receiver in it's pocket and more picks to make. They now select QB of the future Dustin Parmalee. Two big offensive pieces for the future. And still another pick later in the round!
5. Austin Copperheads: Austin is a tough nut to crack. Lots of players on the current roster, lots of solid TPE all over. So we're going Cornerback. Two S23 players and a S24 makes an injection of youth not a terrible thing. Jason Garciaparra is just the man for the job too. Tight End is another direction they could go here.
6. San Jose SaberCats: Bit of an older roster here, but a couple definite holes. One happens to be Defensive Tackle. So they make the easy pick, almost sprinting to the podium to nab Konstantin Selich. Best player still available and can start day 1 in San Jose. They do need help on the offensive line, but will bank on something being available with their next pick.
7. Orange County Otters: Another aging core here, some youth will need to be airlifted in, in a hurry. But where to go? Defensive Tackle is a position of shallow depth for the Otters, but grabbing one here is a bit of a stretch. But then again, nobody has made any jaw dropping moves yet either. With a regressing Tackle, the Otters see something special in Dominos Pizzaman and order him up. Another stellar name too. The first surprise pick of the draft has the entire draft floor buzzing.
8. Yellowknife Wraiths: First off, how does Yellowknife get a football team? Odd, but that aside, they are on the clock and flustered by Orange County going off the board! Defensive Tackle and the Offensive Line are sore needs and with a plethora of receivers available still, the Wraiths also reach down a bit and grab Pepelegs Johnson for their O-Line. Tight End is another possibility here too, but there are a few of them available later on. Safety is also a long term position of concern.
9. New Orleans Second Line: Another tough place to pick picks. But gonna go Wide Receiver here. Two aging vets and a youngin is a recipe for drafting one of the many pass catchers still hanging around at the top of the board. Potentially starting a run of offensive players. Vincent Sharpe Jr will be their choice, and is a good one at that.
10. Colorado Yeti: Lots of players on the Colorado roster. Defense looks very strong, so we're gonna go to an obvious need on offense. So why not give Mr. PigSnout more weapons? He has proved in other leagues that he can go to the HOF at QB, and a standout Tight End will help him do that. Nick L. Back is where the Yeti go here, and they are very pleased with the pick. A defensive Tackle is a definite need too, but that will have to wait. Maybe for free agency?
11. Chicago Butchers via Arizona: Chicago is starting to get tired of walking up the steps so often here. Back for their third selection of the round, they can go a few different ways here. Another WR to surround Parmalee with all kinds of young recievers, maybe RB to get a younger backup and potentially a workhorse, or maybe a CB to add some youth to the secondary, even a DE. With a big roll of the dice, they select Cornerback The Laz. With an eye to their later picks, they can still get their other needs more easily than someone as gifted as Laz.
12. Sarasota Sailfish: Plenty of fish in Sarasota makes it hard to peg where they may go here. Lots of depth at critical positions, make a hard draft choice a nice problem to have. They do seem to lack active Offensive Linemen, so that's where we are going today. Old Bernie Sanders starts a new career in Florida to help breath life into the O-Line.
13. Berlin Salamanders: At this point, the last two picks were still up for debate. I'm crowning New York the champion, as New York will win both an ISFL as well as an EFL title in the current season. Berlin has a damn fine team as it's clear why they are in the finals. With so much talent, they look depth here and add another Running Back to an already solid stable. Kiara Tenoh is the pick here, although there are other positions like Offensive Line, Defensive Tackle and the Secondary that could use a breath of youth.
14. New York Silverbacks: New York wins, you heard it here first. With the champagne flowing and a pick to make, they go with the best player available and that is Mason Malone, who finally finishes his fall to the final pick of the first round. Another pick clearly with the future in mind, Malone will work hard to prove the teams that passed on him wrong.
My own player hasn't been picked yet, do for poops and giggles, we'll go till he gets picked and maybe further. Less analysis jow, but you can bet your next ISFL contract on these.
15. Baltimore: Previous pick: LB. This pick: QB Ricky Stanzi. An inactive QB and BPA make this a good match.
16. Honolulu: Previous pick: S This pick: WR Squidward Tentacles. Solid fit for a team needing a 3rd WR.
17. Arizona from Chicago: Previous pick: None. This pick: DE Ioe Torrent. 0 Defensive Ends make this a must have pick.
18. Chicago from Philadelphia: Previous pick: WR, QB, CB. This pick: TE Dee Walt. GM player, so this one is locked in
19. Austin: Previous pick: CB. This pick: S Fuzzy George. Older Safeties make this a must add to stay on the good side of father time.
20. San Jose: Previous pick: DT. This pick: WR Calvin Hobbes. To heck with the O-Line for now, adding a 3rd WR is a good add here.
21. Orange County: Previous pick: DT. This pick: TE Sal Ami. Good pick with a regressing TE on the roster.
22. New Orleans: Previous pick: WR. This pick: LB Dont Draft. Well regardless of the name, they take a flyer with several inactive LBs.
23. Yellowknife: Previous pick: OL. This pick: DE Stewart Hellraiser. Is this where I end up? Who knows. But 2 inactive DEs hurt, so it makes some sense, although it is a big reach with so many higher TPE players. We've gone this far, so we'll finish out the round.
24. New York: Previous pick: WR. This pick: CB Owen Reed. Age and lack of depth make this a good pickup.
25. Arizona: Previous pick: DE. This pick: DE Rocco Blade. Adding a second DE gives some depth here.
26. Sarasota: Previous pick: OL. This pick: WR Cliff Burton. Too good of a player to pass up this late.
27. Colorado: Previous pick: TE. This pick: OL Clifford Wilson. An old and inactive O-Line gets some help.
28. Berlin: Previous pick: RB. This pick: WR Bradley Welch. A couple aging pass catchers get help from a fresh face,
31. Philadelphia from Chicago. Just cause I was curious, about where he'd go, my 2nd or 3rd favourite name, Andy Fantuz comes out of retirement and gets selected by Philadelphia. All those years in Saskatchewan and Hamilton are not enough to keep the bank filled up I guess. #ElksCharge
