Week #1 Broadcast
Agent Tesla: Hello and good time appropriate greeting dear members of the DSFL! We are back with a new season and a new sim! Thankfully the new sim is similar to the old sim and so I will be joined by a representative of it named Sim Rep to provide you with highlights from all the games! Except for preseason because despite rumors to the contrary I am only mortal. Now introductions out of the way please start us off with the first game of week one Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Game Norfolk Seawolves at London Royals. Royals won 39 to 0. Offensive player of the game is kicker Alastor Hazbin of the London Royals with a stat line of 3 for 3 on extra points, 2 for 2 on 20 to 29 yard field goals, 4 for 4 on 40 to 49 yard field goals, 3 punts for 108 yards, an average punt of 36 yards, and a long of 40 yards.
Agent Tesla: Nice to see special teams getting some recognition right off the bat! Hazbin's first big play of the day would come at the end of the opening drive on a fourth and nine as they made a successful 42 yard field goal. Their next big kick would come late in the third quarter on a fourth and five where they connected from 44 yards out for the field goal. They would have their longest field goal of the day midway through the fourth quarter on a fourth and four in the form of a 45 yard field goal. Several minutes later they would put the last points of the day up on a fourth and six with a successful 44 yard field goal. Defense please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is cornerback C.J. Sonjack of the London Royals with a stat line of 3 tackles, 2 passes defended, 2 interceptions, and 1 interception return touchdown.
Agent Tesla: Sonjack's first appearance on the stat sheet was a huge highlight of the second quarter as they picked off a pass on first and ten with a 15 yard return to take over just outside the red zone. Late in the third Sonjack would have the play of the game though as they picked off a long pass on third and twenty-nine at midfield, and then ran it back 50 yards for a touchdown.
Tell us about game two of week one next please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Game Dallas Birddogs at Tijuana Luchadores. Birddogs won 24 to 17. Offensive player of the game is wide receiver Bayley Cowabunga of the Dallas Birddogs with a stat line of 5 receptions for 101 yards, an average reception of 20.2 yards, and a long of 37 yards.
Agent Tesla: Cowabunga's longest play of the day came shortly into the second quarter on a first and ten in the form of a 37 yard reception that set the team up just outside the red zone. Late in the second Cowabunga would convert another first and ten with a 21 yard reception to cross midfield. That covers offense and so next is defense please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is cornerback Buck Nekkid of the Tijuana Luchadores with a stat line of 4 tackles, 1 forced fumble, 3 passes defended, and 2 interceptions.
Agent Tesla: First quarter and Buck got off to a good start with a broken up pass on first and ten shortly into the quarter, and on the following second and ten picked off the pass with an 8 yard return. Opening drive of the second half on a second and ten Buck picked off the pass again with a 5 yard return to set up inside the red zone. Early in the fourth quarter on of course a second and ten play Buck made their last big play of the day with a strong enough tackle to knock the ball to the turf.
Next is game three of week one please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Game Kansas City Coyotes at Portland Pythons. Pythons won 44 to 33. Offensive player of the game is wide receiver Saleem Spence of the Portland Pythons with a stat line of 3 receptions for 135 yards, an average reception of 45 yards, a long of 68 yards, and 1 touchdown.
Agent Tesla: It took until the fourth quarter for Spence to make it onto the stat sheet, but they did so with gusto starting with an 8 yard reception on second and three just a few minutes into the quarter. An act they would follow with a 68 yard reception on third and nine just a couple minutes later. It was late in the fourth where they had their best play though as they turned a first and fifteen into a 59 yard touchdown reception. Onto defense please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is strong safety Evan Jones of the Portland Pythons with a stat line of 3 tackles, 2 passes defended, and 1 interception touchdown.
Agent Tesla: Jones was a similarly clutch performer as their big play of the day waited until midway through the fourth quarter, but it was well worth the wait as they picked off a pass on second and twenty-two with a 13 yard return for a touchdown. Later in the fourth they would also add a defended pass on a first and ten that would help lead to an eventual turnover on downs.
Tell us about the last game of week one please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Game Bondi Beach Buccaneers at Minnesota Grey Ducks. Buccaneers won 14 to 13. Offensive player of the game is running back Madison Hayes of the Minnesota Grey Ducks with a stat line of 26 rushing attempts for 108 yards, an average run of 4.2 yards, a long of 54 yards, 4 receptions for 25 yards, an average reception of 6.2 yards, and a long of 11 yards.
Agent Tesla: Midway through the first and Hayes broke their first long run of the day of 13 yards to convert a first and ten. Just two plays later on second and two Hayes would have their longest reception of the day of 11 yards to get the first down. A couple minutes later on first and ten Hayes ran it 15 yards for another highlight. First play of the second quarter was their best though as they turned a second and thirteen from their own 4 yard line into a 54 yard run. Once more to defense please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is linebacker Let Charson (GM) of the Bondi Beach Buccaneers with a stat line of 9 tackles, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery.
Agent Tesla: A solid stat line, but we do not honor bots here. Instead we will recognize linebacker Don Bradman of the Bondi Beach Buccaneers with a stat line of 3 tackles, 1 for loss, 2 passes defended, and 1 interception. Bradman's first appearance on the stat sheet would be a tackle for loss on a first down a few minutes into the game that would help lead to a punt. Their second appearance would be a 39 yard interception on first and ten just a few minutes later to give their team a goal to go opportunity. Then early in the fourth quarter Bradman would contribute again by breaking up a pass on second and twenty play.
Thank you all for joining us and we look forward to bringing you more highlights throughout the season. Stay safe and have a wonderful week!
Week #2&3 Broadcast
Agent Tesla: Hello again dear readers! I am back with my partner in writing Sim Rep to bring you highlights from the latest doubleheader of DSFL action, and as there is a lot to cover we are going to get started quickly. Sim Rep please start us off with the first game of week two!
Sim Rep: Game Tijuana Luchadores at London Royals. Luchadores won 16 to 0. Offensive player of the game is kicker Bot Bilbo (BOT) of the Tijuana Luchadores with a stat line of 1 of 1 on extra points, 1 of 1 on 20 to 29 yard field goals, 2 of 2 on 30 to 39 yard field goals, 0 of 1 on 40 to 49 yard field goals, 9 punts for 368 yards, an average punt of 40.9 yards, a long of 47 yards, and 3 inside the 20.
Agent Tesla: No bots and so we instead honor running back Preston Parker of the Tijuana Luchadores with their stat line of 19 rushing attempts for 90 yards, an average run of 4.7 yards, a long of 39 yards, 2 receptions for 15 yards, an average reception of 7.5 yards, a long of 9 yards, and 1 touchdown. Parker's biggest play of the day came on a second and five midway through the first quarter where they ran the ball 39 yards to set up just outside of a goal to go situation. They then caught a 6 yard touchdown pass just a couple of plays later on third and five. Second quarter Parker would have another long run of 10 yards towards the end of the quarter to convert a second and ten. Defense please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is defensive end Glenn Smart of the London Royals with a stat line of 11 tackles, 2 for loss, and 1 forced fumble.
Agent Tesla: Smart's first big play of the day cam early in the first where they made a tackle short of the line to gain on a third and three to force the opposition to settle for a field goal. Late in the first they would have another big play as they made the tackle at the line of scrimmage on first and ten, but this time managed to pop the ball out for their teammate to recover for the takeaway. Then midway through the third Smart made a tackle for a 3 yard loss on first and ten
Onto game two of week two please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Game Dallas Birddogs at Norfolk Seawolves. Birddogs won 24 to 13. Offensive player of the game is wide receiver Joseph Radetzky of the Norfolk Seawolves with a stat line of 8 receptions for 158 yards, an average reception of 19.8 yards, a long of 70 yards, and 1 touchdown.
Agent Tesla: Radetzky's first big highlight took a while to come to fruition, but it was well worth it as they caught a pass late in the third quarter on first and ten and rand it 70 yards for the touchdown. Partway through the fourth quarter they would have another big play as they made a 22 yard reception on first and ten. Next is defense please Sim Rep.
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is defensive tackle Primo Berto of the Dallas Birddogs with a stat line of 3 tackles, 1 for loss, and 2 sacks.
Agent Tesla: Near the end of the second quarter Berto had a big play with an 11 yard sack on first and ten that knocked the opposition back across midfield. Midway through the fourth quarter they would do it again with a 14 yard sack on first and ten to once again push the opposition back across midfield.
Game three please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Game Minnesota Grey Ducks at Kansas City Coyotes. Coyotes won 27 to 10. Offensive player of the game is running back Xander Creed of the Kansas City Coyotes with a stat line of 17 rushing attempts for 137 yards, an average run of 8.1 yards, a long of 46 yards, 1 touchdown, 2 receptions for 8 yards, an average reception of 4 yards, and a long of 4 yards.
Agent Tesla: Creed's biggest play of the day came exactly halfway through the first quarter where they ran for a 44 yard touchdown on a second and five. That was not their longest though as that came just a couple minutes later where they ran it 46 yards on first and ten. Late in the third they proved they still had gas in the tank as they ran for 9 yards on first and ten, and then converted the second and one that followed with a 9 yard run. Onto defense please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is cornerback Siege Cameron of the Kansas City Coyotes with a stat line of 7 tackles, 7 passes defended, and 1 interception.
Agent Tesla: I do not think I have ever seen a corner lead in tackles before. Cameron won this off the back of one specific drive I would say as it is quite an impressive series. First and ten on the Kansas City 14 yard line and Cameron breaks up the pass. Second and ten in the same location and Cameron breaks up the pass again. Neutral zone infraction makes it third and five from the nine, and same play call as before leads to Cameron picking off the pass and running it back 57 yards to get an immediate opportunity in opponent territory.
Last game of week two please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Game Portland Pythons at Bondi Beach Buccaneers. Pythons won 30 to 13. Offensive player of the game is wide receiver Quavious McGrady of the Portland Pythons with a stat line of 5 receptions for 149 yards, an average reception of 29.8 yards, a long of 52 yards, and 2 touchdowns.
Agent Tesla: McGrady's first catch of the day was midway through the first and good for 21 yards on a first and ten. A few minutes later they had their best play of the dayt as they caught a 52 yard touchdown pass on first and ten. Late in the second they would do it again with a 36 yard touchdown reception on second and twenty-five. Their last play of the day came in the third quarter where they turned a first and ten into a 32 yard reception for the conversion. Defense please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is linebacker Donald McBobby of the Portland Pythons with a stat line of 7 tackles, 1 sack, and 1 forced fumble.
Agent Tesla: Second and ten in the first quarter and McBobby made their biggest play of the day as they secured a 6 yard sack that also forced a fumble. Although not quite to that level they also had a stop on second and five later in the first that helped contribute to a three and out. Along with a similar play on a first and ten in the third quarter that helped force the opposition to settle for a field goal.
First game of week three please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Game Bondi Beach Buccaneers at Norfolk Seawolves. Buccaneers won 34 to 21. Offensive player of the game is running back Big Chungus of the Bondi Beach Buccaneers with a stat line of 18 rushing attempts for 156 yards, an average run of 8.7 yards, a long of 71 yards, and 2 touchdowns.
Agent Tesla: Chungus' first touch of the day was a 51 yard touchdown run on a second and fifteen early in the first quarter. They would not see such success again until the second quarter where they had a 71 yard touchdown run on first and ten. Tell us about defense please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is defensive end Bean Beanman of the Norfolk Seawolves with a stat line of 6 tackles, 2 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles.
Agent Tesla: Beanman's first big play of the day came midway through the first quarter where they had a 10 yard sack on second and goal that was also good enough to force a fumble, although it did not get recovered the possession still ended in a failed field goal attempt. Late in the third quarter Beanman would step up again with a 6 yard sack on second and twenty-one that also forced a fumble.
Second game of week three please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Game Kansas City Coyotes at Tijuana Luchadores. Luchadores won 17 to 16. Offensive player of the game is Eleven Kendrick-Watts of the Kansas City Coyotes with a stat line of 7 receptions for 154 yards, an average reception of 22 yards, and a long of 51 yards.
Agent Tesla: Early in the second Kendrick-Watts made their first big play of the day with a 38 yard reception on first and ten for an instant red zone opportunity. Later in the second quarter on a first and ten Kendrick-Watts made a 20 yard reception that put the team in the red zone again. Right at the end of the third quarter though is when Kendrick-Watts had their best play of the day as they turned a first and ten into a 51 yard reception for another red zone opportunity. Defense please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is defensive tackle Prof Godfrey Gravity of the Kansas City Coyotes with a stat line of 14 tackles, 4 for loss, and 1 sack.
Agent Tesla: Gravity's first highlights were late in the first on back to back plays as they made a stop short on second and six, and then made the stop short on third and three for a three and out. The next drive they were up they made a stop short on first and ten, and then had a 1 yard tackle for loss on third and seven to force another three and out. Right at the start of the second quarter they would step up again with a 6 yard sack on first and ten to lead to another three and out. Fourth quarter and Gravity was still at work with a tackle close to the line of scrimmage on first and ten, and followed with a similar tackle on second and nine to contribute to another three and out on the day.
Game three week three please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Game London Royals at Dallas Birddogs. Birddogs won 20 to 10. Offensive player of the game is quarterback Joliet Christ Jr. of the Dallas Birddogs with a stat line of 26 of 43 for 280 yards passing, an average pass of 6.5 yards, 2 touchdowns, a passer rating of 95.1, and 1 rushing attempt for 0 yards.
Agent Tesla: Midway through the first quarter Christ connected on a 41 yard pass play to convert a first and ten right outside the red zone. Late in the second quarter Christ would step up on a third and three to complete a 35 yard pass, and then a few plays later would get a 3 yard touchdown pass on third and goal. Midway through the third quarter Christ would complete an 8 yard touchdown pass on first and goal for their second of the day. Early in the fourth they would have another clutch conversion as they managed a 23 yard pass on third and eight to keep their drive alive. Defense please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is linebacker Logan Sarrasin of the London Royals with a stat line of 16 tackles, 1 for loss, and 1 forced fumble.
Agent Tesla: Sarrasin was all over the place today, but unfortunately a large number of tackles does not make for a large number of highlights. However after contributing consistently throughout they got their first shiny play of the day in the third quarter with a tackle close to the line on a second and nine that would help lead to a punt. They would do similar with a quick tackle on a first and ten in the fourth quarter as part of a three and out. Then on the next drive proved they were ready for clutch time as they made a tackle short on second and ten, and then another tackle short on the third and seven that followed for another three and out.
Last game of week three please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Game Portland Pythons at Minnesota Grey Ducks. Pythons won 27 to 10. Offensive player of the game is running back Giovanni Bianchi of the Portland Pythons with a stat line of 11 rushing attempts for 72 yards, an average rush of 6.5 yards, a long of 31 yards, 2 touchdowns, and a 12 yard touchdown reception.
Agent Tesla: Right at the end of the first quarter Bianchi had their first touch of the day as they ran it 13 yards on second and one. Then late in the second they had their second highlight as they caught a 12 yard touchdown pass on first and ten. Partway through the third they would do it again with a 9 yard touchdown run on first and goal. Their biggest play of the day waited until halfway through the fourth quarter though where they turned on the jets for a 31 yard touchdown run on a second and four. Onto defense please Sim Rep!
Sim Rep: Defensive player of the game is linebacker Kevin Morrison of the Portland Pythons with a stat line of 11 tackles and 1 pass defended.
Agent Tesla: Early in the second they would have their first highlight as they made the stop short on third and eight to force a punt as part of a three and out. Early in the third they would do it again with a tackle at the line of scrimmage on third and five to wrap up a three and out. Halfway through the third Morrison shook it up by breaking up a pass on third and ten to finish off a three and out. Late in the third quarter they would prove that was their best as they made a tackle short of the line to gain on a third and thirteen to force a punt. They still had enough left in the fourth though to make a tackle at the line of scrimmage on a third and ten to help cap off another three and out.
