This past offseason, Tugg Speedman came to an agreement on a huge contract extension with the New York Silverbacks that will keep him with the team for another 7 seasons. With this in mind, Tugg really wants to become the all-time leader in every single receiving stat for the Silverbacks. He wants to leave no option but to force New York to build his statue outside of the stadium. With that said, let’s take a look at the leaderboards for the Silverbacks.
Receptions (min 25 receptions):
Jackson Kingston - 455
Sean Snyder - 388
James Wilkinson - 287
Tugg Speedman - 210
Captain Rogers - 176
Harley Fank - 158
Ashley Owens - 146
Buster Bawlls - 111
Joseph Radetzky - 75
Leon McDavid - 66
Receiving Yards (min 25 receptions):
Jackson Kingston - 6,704
Sean Snyder - 5,250
Tugg Speedman - 2,667
Harley Fank - 2,200
James Wilkinson - 2,054
Captain Rogers - 1,449
Ashley Owens - 1,336
Joseph Radetzky - 995
Buster Bawlls - 660
Leon McDavid - 625
Receiving Avg (min 25 receptions):
Jackson Kingston - 14.734
Harley Fank - 13.924
Sean Snyder - 13.531
Joseph Radetzky - 13.267
Tugg Speedman - 12.700
Brandon Prince - 9.720
Leon McDavid - 9.470
Ashley Owens - 9.151
Captain Rogers - 8.233
James Wilkinson - 7.157
Receiving Touchdowns (min 25 receptions):
Jackson Kingston - 45
Sean Snyder - 30
Harley Fank - 13
Tugg Speedman - 11
James Wilkinson - 6
Joseph Radetzky - 6
Ashley Owens - 5
Buster Bawlls - 5
Captain Rogers - 4
Leon McDavid - 3
So after looking at these career numbers, a lot of these are certainly within reach for Tugg. The receptions record could be attained in the next 3 seasons although Snyder is still playing for the Silverbacks and is still chasing that number one spot held by Kingston who recently left the team this offseason for the Sarasota Sailfish. The yards record will take a bit more time and could take upwards of 4 or 5 seasons unless Speedman has one of those insane 1,700 - 2,000 yard seasons. Snyder is also closing in on the number one overall spot but is still a bit away as once again, Jackson Kingston is currently the best receiver in team history. If any of these are going to be unattainable, I believe the receiving yard average will be it. As a slot receiver and someone who gets a lot of short yardage receptions, I probably won’t be able to increase my yards per receptions unless I do an archetype switch but that is not happening. Last but not least is touchdowns. It is semi-painful to see where I am on this leaderboard but it is what it is. The sim giveth and the sim taketh away and I am hoping that over time the sim will make this up to me but I won’t hold my breath.
In closing, I think I have a great shot as being one of the best Silverback receivers of all time. Yes I know they are an expansion team and their history is relatively new but let me have this!!! Jackson Kingston (@Daybe) was such a great example of what I want to accomplish here in New York and I look forward to (almost) breaking all of his records.
