The past couple weeks of the DSFL season have certainly laid out a solid base for the final week of the DSFL season. With each division having final game ramifications leading into today, let's see how each twitter has been showing up for their teams during the ups and downs over the past few weeks. Even though I wasn’t able to stick to my weekly/bi-weekly power rankings, we're now back at it again with not one, not two, but an analysis of the past 3 weeks of DSFL twitters.
The weeks will be based on the ISFL/DSFL S31 schedule as laid out on the website. This week will be September 27th (Start of ISFL Week 3) - October 17th (End of ISFL week 5).
Coming in the 8th spot we have…
The Kansas City Coyotes
RANK CHANGE - None
Retweets - 0
Gifs/tweets - 0

Combined total - 0
Trash talk in the tweet for bonus - 0
Even though I took a few weeks off with only looking minimally at some team twitters, I knew the KCC twitter page was going to look exactly as it did after my last rankings. Now could you say that I was hopeful that something was posted and I may have actually had a tiny bit of hope but at the end of the day no one is really going to be surprised when reading this. I’d be shocked if people even read this part of the media as they know it will just be me complaining about the Coyotes week after week for not doing anything. After the last rankings, we still have not heard anything from the head of Twitter so maybe this is something that may not be fixed for a very long time.
For the third, fourth and fifth week in a row, you lovely people reading this who struggle with math get an easy one with a final tally of 0 tweets per day.
Coming in the 7th spot we have…
London Royals
RANK CHANGE - (-5)
Retweets - 3
Gifs/tweets - 2
Quotes - 0
Combined total - 5
Trash talk in the tweet for bonus - 0
After two weeks of being one of the top teams in retweets, I was wondering if this was out of pure marketing or laziness. Well this week I think I found my answer since the Royals were only able to rack up 3 retweets and two of their own tweets. Four of those total tweets came within the first 2 days of the 3rd week of the season leaving almost a 2 week gap between their 4th and 5th tweet during this three week analysis. For a team that had climbed up the ranks from 7th to 2nd from last year to this year, they once again decided to disappear late into the season just like their performances on the field, leaving them back in the 7 spot with only one week left to go in the season,
Over the past three weeks, this team has been a disappointment only tweeting at a pace of 0.24 tweets per day. The reason they are so low in the ranks compared to some other teams that did not tweet much is due to the fact they did not tweet a single time from September 28th to October 8th.
This team looks to have a bright future with some rookies who seem to be earning well so I’m hopeful that the Royals do not disappear when things get tough.
Coming in the 6th spot we have…
Tijuana Luchadores
RANK CHANGE - (+1)
Retweets - 0

Trash talk in the tweet for bonus - 0
While looking at the Tijuana twitter page, I think my statement from a few weeks ago was spot on in saying we may still have the most boring twitter pages other than the team that has 0 tweets. For a team that started off 4-0 after week 2, but has now slipped up to 7-6 and fighting for that last playoff spot tonight, you’d think that they would be hyping up their players for a great season that they have been having. In a crazy tough south division, they need to be able to keep all players engaged on a weekly basis and it starts from management down to even this social media piece. Even from a team that doesn't tweet much, the tweets that they send out may have total contents of 10 words per tweet which may be generous if were not counting the #ISFLsim at the end of each one. Over the last week of the season, I’m going to be looking for a little bit of substance from this team's twitter head instead of making blanket statements of questions or phrases in less than 10 words.
Over the course of the three weeks, Tijuana had 7 tweets, which were as I stated before, one liners at best, and to be honest, was very boring. If they wanted to move into the top half of the rankings, all they had to do was put a little substance or effort into the tweets and they probably would have made it since teams 2-7 in the rankings are pretty much neck and neck 5 weeks into the season. Finally, Tijuana finished with a score of 0.33 tweets per day which is slightly better than week 2 which was 0.29 but still looking for a massive improvement to make it into the top half of the ranks. I stated it during my ranks a few weeks ago but this team follows over 300 pages and we are still seeing no retweets? I wonder if we even look at our timeline or if we just post a sentence then close down the page until the next time we are obligated to tweet. I guess we’ll find out potentially in a week's time.
Coming in the 5th spot we have...
Dallas Birddogs
RANK CHANGE - (+1)
Retweets - 0
Gifs/tweets - 7

Combined total - 7
Trash talk in the tweet for bonus - ½ point
In what could be a contender this week with Tijuana for most boring page, the Birddogs come into the rankings this week at number 5. To be honest, the Birddogs and Luchadores could literally have the same rank this week but I only gave the Birddogs the better spot because they were higher in the ranks last DSFL twitter week and they told London to ‘fuck off’ basically. The Birddogs have locked up the South division but you wouldn’t even know about it because there is no mention on their page at all, like what? This team has been torching opposing defences all season as well with the highest points for going into the last week into the season, but you also would not know about this because they say absolutely nothing about it. Oh and did I mention their QB is in the top spot of the running for MVP, yea I’m sure you reading this probably did not know about that either…
In the final week of the season, I’m expecting a final push of excitement for the number 1 seed in the south division, especially since they have a great chance at winning it all, beating each contender at least once this year already during the regular season.
Over the past week, Dallas had 7 total tweets which was one of the worst scores of the week at 0.33 tweets per day. The creativity was starting to add up for this team compared to last year during the first few weeks of the season but once again they are falling back into old habits shooting off one liners.
Coming in the 4th spot we have…
Portland Pythons
RANK CHANGE - (+1)
Retweets - 0
Gifs/tweets - 10
Quotes - 0
Combined total - 10 0.48
Trash talk in the tweet for bonus - 0
In a rough start to the first few weeks of the season, the Pythons have won 3 out of their 4 last games with one game left to try and make the playoffs. With some help from some other teams, expect this twitter page to hopefully blow up if BBB beat the Ducks for this Pythons team. I did not see any retweets this week so this will be something to look forward to with a final nerve wracking game coming up against the Seawolves.
In my last post about this team, I mentioned that I’m looking for something a little different other than game day hype which they did somewhat deliver on with some mentions about polls and also talking about the playoff race. With some consistency of this, I’m sure they can continue to climb up the ranks moving up one spot from last week.
Over the past few weeks, Portland had 10 total tweets which was one of the better scores of 0.48 tweets per day this week. When comparing this to their score in week two of 0.57 tweets per day, I really expect the total season number to go up with retweets and their own tweets if they get a win over the Seawolves and from a win from the Bucs. Although this team had the potential to be in the number three spot this week, they went over the top with putting up three polls over a few days instead of having a few new things. Having these three polls in a couple day span inflated some numbers a bit for them. I’m expecting this team to be able to take over the number 3 spot next week based on the dedication alone since they did pump out more total tweets last week than the Seawolves did but I’m looking for a little more fire from a team that has a Python as their logo.
Coming in the number three spot we have...
Norfolk Seawolves
RANK CHANGE (+1)

Now I know what you’re all thinking, how did Norfolk get to the third spot, these rankings are rigged, they barely did anything over the past three weeks. Let me tell you, I spent way too much time debating over the number three versus number four team and what it came down too was simply some trash talk in the tweets. It gave them some extra points since the trash talk was specifically towards the team that was going to be in the fourth spot. But let’s be honest here, the teams from spots 2-7 will not equal up to the team in the number one spot if they were all added together.
After a comeback season for the Seawolves after finishing last in the south division just a season ago, they are now fighting for their playoff lives one game left in the season. The hype for the last game of the season is coming from all of the individual players' tweets but I am not seeing much from the official twitter page in regards to retweets from them. This team’s twitter page continues to not add much of a mix of much in regards to similar things to the grey ducks but I did enjoy watching that video from the NFL and also enjoyed seeing them retweet some of the other teams for the polls to give them more traction.
Over the past few weeks, Norfolk had 8 total tweets which is in the top half of the scores this week at 0.38 tweets per day but is pretty much average. A few weeks ago, they had one of the lowest scores at 0.43 tweets per day which did not look good at the time but now with an even lower score this week, it looks a little better which is showing the twitter pages have been dying down as the season goes on and teams start to lose out on the hype. Expect to see some major trash talk on this twitter page or a lot of saltiness and sadness over the next few days if they are able to make the playoffs for the first time since S26.
Coming in the number two spot we have…
Bondi Beach Buccaneers

After a hot start to the rankings for them in the first 2 weeks of the season going from fourth to third, they now take the number 2 spot this week in the rankings. Although they are not secured to this spot since there is not much difference in the middle of the ranks from 2-7, they showed that they are looking at their timeline quoting some other teams and adding some conversation into the twittersphere instead of just posting one liners like the teams below them.
After a pretty rough end to the season for this team, not making the playoffs in a last place finish to the south division, they are continuing to try and show some positivity towards the team. After the first few weeks, they were one of the top teams to show off some gifs and pictures attached to their tweets and they somewhat continued this over the past few weeks but I’m interested if they can keep up this presence on twitter with not much going on at the end of the season for them.
Over the past three weeks, BBB had 11 total tweets which is a score of 0.52 tweets per day. During the last rankings, they had a score of 0.86 tweets per day so I’m looking for a massive improvement from them over the last week of the season heading into the off season for them to be able to stick in the top half of the ranks.
Coming in the number one spot and your reigning DSFL twitter ranks champ, the only championship they’ll have this season…
Minnesota Grey Ducks

Coming in the top spot for the third/fourth and fifth week in a row, the grey ducks continue to show DSFL twitter how much time you should be spending investing into your team. I will be interested to see how prospects in this upcoming draft prioritize certain teams when they head into the LR’s as just looking at this twitter page would show me that this team would be invested into my players development.
The disrespect this twitter person has been showing to the teams in the league has been fantastic. As I am going through the page, I am consistently seeing so much trash talk to each team no matter who it is. Although sometimes the trash talk does fire back (nofoLk game…), I appreciate reading all of the banter back and forth. This twitter is still showing many different things that many are not like live tweeting during the game which I’m sure is nice for those who may be working and can not watch the live stream.
Over the past 3 weeks, the Ducks had way too many tweets for me to count since I could just tell by looking at the page that they would finish in the number one spot. Although a lot of these tweets did come in a couple days during the live games, the creativity and consistency is going to be keeping this team on top for future weeks to come
Week 3-5 Conclusion
In conclusion, after looking through all the 8 team twitter pages, I am a little surprised how most teams have been tweeting since the numbers are abysmal compared to some weeks we have had in the past. I’m not sure if my missing rankings have had anything to do with it or maybe teams are slowly starting to have the starting season jitters die down, but something needs to change with some of these teams. Once again there is a clear divide between the number one team and the rest of them. It’s not even close to be honest. As we head into the final week of the season with playoff ramifications and playoffs, I’m hoping to see some excitement out of these pages even if their teams may not be in the final running and cheering on fellow players. When looking at teams 2-7, the ranks are completely up for grabs heading into the final week, not a single team really has too much of an advantage over another since every team is putting in the same effort as the others. Finally, once again if you are looking for some average tweets like from what we see on all middle of the pack teams, come find me @JohnnyPatey11.
