I've been hearing some talk about how people are going to make Borkus Maximus the 3rd MVP of the DSFL...And I'm a little salty about that so let me lay some facts on you and really hurt Borkus' feelings (It's ok I still think you're awesome). So here are some very non MVP like stats as to why Mr. Maximus shouldn't even be in the conversation of MVP.
He has thrown 10 touchdowns, everyone that is below him does not play NEARLY as much as he does. For example the only other quarterback below him in this category to have played all 12 games is Adams, and Adams isn't on the field 50% of the time because they have Vick. The only exception to this is Asspie, and lets face it being better than Asspie is nothing too incredible. So Maximus may look pretty good on paper when he is throwing touchdowns, but it becomes much less impressive when you realize everyone below him except for a garbage QB has like half his total snaps.
Maximus is 3rd LOWEST in the league when it comes to passer rating. The only people worse than him is Asspie (jesus he is bad isn't he?) and Vick, who just created his player midseason not too long ago. He has a pitiful 63.3 passer rating, which is laughable. I mean Sam Bradford's WORSE quarterback rating of his entire career was a 70...That was with the Jeff Fisher rams of 2011. I mean 63.3 just does not cut it...It's very bad.
You want to know what is contributing to that shitfest of a passer rating? The fact that Borkus has 4 more interceptions than touchdowns. He is second in the league in interceptions...The only quarterback with more is a bot! And he is 1 of 3 quarterbacks in the league to have double digit interceptions with the other 2 being bots...
Do I need to go on? Oh I do okay well lets look at 1 stat that isn't pitiful, his yards. Maximus is actually the 3rd highest in the league with passing yards, wow that's pretty good! Oh wait...The only other 2 quarterbacks ahead of him have double digit interceptions and are bots...Ok so lets walk through this together. Do yards score points? no. Do yards guarantee anything? no. Is it likely that all 3 of these quarterbacks who lead the league in yards get down the field and then choke and either let the drive stall and settle for field goals or throw a pick because they have double digit interceptions? yes. Yards mean nothing, absolutely nothing. I can have a 600 yard game in the NFL but at the same time have 0 points, because all those drives ended in interceptions. Frankly the yard stat does NOT impress me, and it should not impress you either.
You want to hear a quarterback with good stats? Let's talk about Austin Roenick, this guy is beasting.
Roenick is 2nd in the league in touchdowns while also 4th in yards behind the trio of garbage. What does that mean? Roenick actually finishes drives. All his yards end in points, he doesn't waste them by throwing an interception because, fun fact, he has the 2nd lowest interceptions out of quarterbacks who have played 12 games. The only person below him is Adams, who has been sharing snaps with Vick so he doesn't have as much of a chance to suck. Here is another interesting stat, Roenick is 3rd in the league in pass completion percentage, neither of the 2 people above him have passed more than 20 times...They just came in for a few plays and threw the ball around and managed to make a bunch of completions. He is also 4th highest in the league in passer rating, everyone above him does not have 12 games except for Adams who shares his snaps and doesn't have as many opportunities to suck. Now am I saying that Roenick deserves MVP? Maybe, he certainly has some crazy good stats and is far and away the best quarterback. But my point was to show you that Maximus isn't even the best quarterback in the league, let alone the most valuable player.
Let's take a look at one other consideration for MVP, winning. For this let's go to the NFL once again, to prove my point. I really don't want to go through the last 50ish MVP's and find out if they were on a winning team, but I can tell you that all of the last 10 MVP's have been in the playoffs. And I would be willing to bet that almost all of them have made the playoffs.
Also I would like to ask the community one more question, if we are considering making Borkus MVP because he has no talent around him, why aren't we making the browns quarterback MVP? Eli Manning this year? (I mean Eli literally has dog shit around him).
I hope everyone thinking about picking Borkus as MVP really reconsiders their pick.
