*Defensive Milestones Comparision

So after filling my depressing milestones yet again, this time whole 1 TPE, I decided to check whether I'm just the most unlucky player or is it a systematic issue.

So after checking it out, I got the following results:


Cornerbacks are the worst by a fair margin, not only they are not showing up on the boxscore, but also have the hardest milestones to meet. Not even a single player got 5 or 6 TPE at this position! The only such example in the league.

I also checked out two other positions, one being the most shining one in QB and probably one even less glamorous than defensive teams in K/P:



I'd love to be a kicker if just for these sweet milestones.



Defensive backs overall are the least likely to receive TPE from milestones, but cornerback situation is borderline desperate when you compare them to any other position.

Just take a look what % of each Milestones CB get:


CB:
Tackles: 60 or more - 71.43%
Tackles For Loss or Sack: 1 or more 18.75%
Forced Fumbles or Fumbles Recovered: 1 or more 28.57%
Defensive/Special Teams TD or Punt/FG/XP Block: 1 or more 21.43%
Passes Defended: 15 or more 71.43%
Interceptions: 3 or more 64.29%

Not even one category with chances above 75% and 3 categories with chances below 30%. Other defensive positions like DT and DE have surefire bets for at least two milestones, not even mentioning K/P.

Potential solutions (if you even think that's a problem, from recent changes to CB it seems otherwise):

• Lowering INT/PD requirements - with nerfs to defensive backs getting even current milestones in these categories will be much harder to get
• Getting at least one sure bet in tackles for CB's - also isn't this contradicting milestones for CB, since they are doing a good job if they don't let receiver a catch that needs to be tackled later?
• FF/FR is a joke, similarly with TFL + Sacks after removing CB blitzes. ALL CB's got whole 1 sack by Desta Danger, who probably played out of position on that play...
• There was an argument in CBs nerfs that they reduce WR yardage if they are good, so since it's apparently measurable and is enough for a change destroying archetype/position also include it in milestones for some compensation?
• CB's are often used in special teams so include KR/PR attempts as another or in Defensive/Special Teams TD or Punt/FG/XP Block category

Definitely agree CB milestones could use some retooling, especially considering it's one of the hardest positions to play. I know a lot of steps have been taken lately to try and boost CB in general so this could be another step.

I think we should be more creative in our defensive milestones, using 'advanced' metrics.

Playing of timeconsumer's HoF PT we could do Percentage of Coverage Snaps ending in a PD, or something similar
