[Ready to be graded] [Double Draft-Media Week] [1117 Words]
Just like everyone else, I'm extremely excited for the S15 NSFL draft on Friday. I can't wait to find out who drafted me, who my future teammates will be, if any of my fellow Pythons go to the same team as me, etc. Unless you are a GM, a GFX maker for the draft, or just have some kind of inside source, you don't really have much to go on, leading up to your big moment. You might consider yourself a first round talent, but not get drafted until the 5th round. You might think you're at the bottom of the draft class, and you look to see that you were drafted in the first round. Anything could happen, and the main source of info we really have to go in is general NSFL team positional needs and mock drafts. Obviously, mock drafts aren't the most reliable source, especially in a draft class that is loaded with so much talent. But, since it is all we really have, let's take a look at the players expected to be drafted in the first round. The statistics below are taken from the mock draft point tasks. I compiled every completed mock draft that was posted for the point task to give everyone a general idea of what they could/should expect come draft day. I list every player that was projected to go in the first round in at least one mock draft, and beside their name, I show the total amount of mock drafts that projected them to be drafted.

Are any of the mock drafts that have been posted 100% correct? I highly doubt it. But, if anything, this information gives us a rough idea of who is considered to be the top talent in this draft class by most people. These numbers can also be off for the sole reason that many people just copy-and-pasted other mock drafts, instead of looking into different players and teams themselves. Although, they likely wouldn't have used someone's mock draft if they didn't believe that person knew what they were talking about. Going off these stats alone, we can make an estimate, from a pure talent point of view, on who will go in the first round. The top ten players, according to mock drafts, are Franklin Armstrong, Chase Jensen, Morgan Marshall, Nero Alexander, Ricardo Morris, Johnny Slothface, Richard D'Attoria, Brock Landers, Xerxes Ridley, and Quenton Bode. If you are one of these players, you have a pretty good chance of being selected in the first round of the draft. I have to say that how many people had Ricardo Morris and Brock Landers in their mock drafts kind of surprised me. I could see one or both of these two possibly falling out of the first round and being an extremely high value pick in the second or third round. I was also surprised to only see Johnny Slothface in 73% of mock drafts. I realize 73% is a lot, but he is widely considered to be the top LB prospect in this class, and he should be considered a guarantee to go in the first round due to the versatility and value of high-end linebackers. This information, although it may not be 100% accurate, also shows how much players have risen and fallen on the draft boards since the S15 DSFL draft. Only one player that was drafted in the first round of the DSFL draft has maintained his star status throughout the season, and that player is Morgan Marshall. Marshall has shown a lot of talent and still has an insane amount of up-side for any team that drafts him. He has proven that he can dominate expectations, and I believe he will continue to do that in the NSFL as well. One player that I don't think anyone expected to be as high as he is when the DSFL draft took place would be Franklin Armstrong. Selected in the 11th round of the S15 DSFL draft, Armstrong wasn't even expected to be an immediate starter for the Portland Pythons. Due to an unexpected change, Armstrong was a starter on day one of the season, and the Pythons never looked backed. Any team would be happy to take Franklin Armstrong in the first round, even if they want him to stay in the DSFL one more season; he is that good. Another player that, although I don't think they'll go in the first round, will probably be picked much earlier than many expect is Alex Dasistwirklichseinnachname (K). Kickers have become somewhat of a premium position in the league, and picking up the best, and possibly the only active, kicker in the draft class will be a priority for many teams.
Simply put, this draft class is going to be insane. We don't know what exactly to expect going into it, but we can at least make some general assumptions. That single moment when your name gets called will define your entire player's career and future. If you don't get picked by the team that you really wanted to play for, don't give up. The team you play for doesn't make you a great player. You make you a great player. I wish everyone luck come draft day, and I can't wait to see your name in the HOF.
