Chip Otle here with a post draft breakdown. After looking at the draft and watching the players play in the Prospect Bowl it is easy to see that the Norfolk Seawolves are clear losers from this draft. I could see a huge Shake up during the season once they start to perform how I think they will.
Cal Lidious - QB - Cal Lidious had one of the worst performances in the Prospect Bowl. Cal started off very hot with two quick TD’s, but then quickly went downhill after he threw 2 late interceptions which almost allowed the game to get away from the Pigeons. In game two Cal could not get anything going against the champion eagles. The Seawolves better hope his play improves soon or they are in for a long losing season
Dorfus Jimbo Jr - DE - The man who thinks Chip Otle is overrated? Drafted in the 2nd round? Not only are the Seawolves overrated i think they will be the worst team in the league. Led by a manager with poor taste buds how does he expect to feed his team? Let's hope he soon realizes just how amazing the Burrito is. It will be great to see who the better Defensive End will be by the end of the year. My Money is on the Burrito and not this man with poor cuisine choices.
Ryan Scott - LB - In the 4th round the Seawolves went with LB Ryan Scott who seemed to have dropped in the draft due to his favorite NFL team.. While it looks like a great pick for the team, how could you really trust a cheese head? This pick will definitely stink up the locker room. It will be fun to see if his teammates will force him out of the locker room because of his love for cheese.
Atlas Quin- CB - By far the worst pick in the draft. How this man went inside the top 5 rounds is wild. Anyone who takes a chance on this man is just crazy. Reports are he cant even hold onto his morning coffee.. So how is he going to hold onto the ball? When they say defensive backs play defensive because they can't catch they say it because of Atlas Quin. This man can’t catch a cold if it slapped him in the face. I can see Atlas leading the league in pass interference or holding calls because of his very brutal speed. Quin will be a big hole for the defense, and will be interesting to see if they survive his mistakes.
Juniped Catfish - RB - Drafted in the 5th round Juniped could surprise a lot of teams. While I do love this draft pick, it is also scary to think that he portrays himself as a panda…. But is he really a panda? Panda’s will be very back RB since they aren’t fast. How does a panda hit the holes? Can a panda even learn plays? But Juniped had a great Prospect bowl with a couple of touchdown runs. This could be the steal of the draft for the Seawolves if they can train this panda to run the plays drawn up by the coach. Also word of advice for the Coach, dont give this panda keys to anything important, he seems to always get himself locked out of places.
Tequila Sunrise - RB - Anything with Liquor in it is good to me. But I think Sunrise will be doing a little too much partying and not enough grinding to make a big impact in this league. Plus if you ask me Tequila may be the worst liquor there is. Another Seawolves with bad taste buds. It must be why they drafted him.
Thelonius Junk - K - There is not much to say here. Is kicker even a real athlete? Is it really needed in DSFL? I don't think so. Junk seems to be at most the 2nd best kicker in the league behind Coyotes kicker Lefty Louis. Can Thunk surprise us and make kickers great again? I can't wait to find out
JZ - S - To go along with the week secondary the Seawolves added JZ. To me if i'm playing the Seawolves I would only pass the ball on the secondary of Atlas Quin and JZ. Like Atlas JZ has some of the worst hands in the league and his tackling ability is non existent. Its safe to say he is no Ed Reed and will be the cause of a lot of big plays against his defense. There are also reports that he is a liability on the sticks. Let's hope the Seawolves aren’t in any competitive gaming events anytime soon!
Bobby Portis - CB - Where does one start with this draft pick? Bobby Portis a lanky PF in the NBA? How will this translate to the DSFL i will tell you… NOT GOOD. Bobby also runs a stratomatic team and he is by far the worst manager in the league. Trusting a +9 hold pitcher? Who does that. You’re just giving teams free steals. Kinda like how he is gonna give teams free yardage. His -109 run differential will be nothing compared to the amount of big plays he will be giving up this year.
Rub A. Chikin - TE - When I think chickens I don’t think TE. While Rub went very late in the draft it will still surprise me if he turns out to be a top notch TE. I feel like we will get more of the “Chicken with its head cut off”
With that being said I project the Seawolves to finish the year 3-11 on the year and dead last in the DSFL league. I just dont see how they can overcome this bad draft class they had. The defense will be the downfall for this team, and I don’t think there will be any way they can fix it. Lets hope ownership is okay with a rebuild in the next draft, because the fans are going to be all over this team for their poor play.
