@SwagSloth I love what you've been doing. You've been improving a ton and it show. Weird crazy thing to try for next time, try to erase the parts over the middle image, the low opacity images not overlaying the main may give it a sense of depth. [div align=center]

At one point, I actually did find a way to fade the overlaying images left to right / right to left, which would accomplish what you're suggesting (I think), but I need to look that back up. (Directly clipping them doesn't work.)I'm guessing you're running gimp or photoshop, the best way I can recommend that's easy and makes it look seamless is this, take the eraser brush, make sure it's fuzzy, and then erase.
