Thank you everybody for joining me once again as I reboot an old series I did way back when (season 3 maybe?) with the Analysis of the Sim Gods. For those who weren't around in those days the premise is quite simple, I resim every game using the exact same strats 50 times every single week to determine which games the sim got right, which ones it threw a monkey wrench into, and give people a better idea of true power rankings in the league to the current date.
So with that being said let's go ahead and kick off this series with week 1! Here were the matchups and results:

So how do these results compare to what we saw in our 50 resimmed games? Did Arizona have a shot at beating the Yeti? Were the Liberty really that bad? How close was BAL @ YKW really?
Well here are your results:
Colorado with an average of 29.3 points scored over Arizona with an average of 17.2 points scored for a win rate of 88% and a point differential of 12.1.
NOLA with an average of 44.9 points scored over Liberty with an average of 7.6 points scored for a win rate of 98% and a point differential of 37.3.
Orange County with an average of 27.1 points scored over San Jose with an average of 18.2 points scored for a win rate of 74% and a point differential of 8.8.
Baltimore with an average of 31.0 points scored over Yellowknife with 26.9 points scored for a win rate of 68% and a point differential of 4.2.
So the resim results match the official results. All the right teams won. Some games were a little closer than the resims indicate on average, some were a little further apart than you might think. Yellowknife vs Baltimore was pretty close in point differential terms.
So with that being said here are the current standings for both official leaderboards and TC's Magic Resim Power Rankings (sorted by point differential)!

Fun Fact of the Week: Fyodovich's incredible triple-interception game was not repeated in the resims. In fact he only had 13 interceptions in all 50 games combined, averaging .25 per game. So other league cornerbacks salivating at the prospect of facing Mr. Noble can temper their expectations a little.
Tune in sometime over the weekend for the Friday analysis.
