From Roberto Gallegos daily podcast:
Roberto Gallegos: Alright folks, it’s time to talk about the DSFL. We’ve been talking about the NSFL all week, and I promised I would get to the little league.
Pauses, Rustles papers
Owen Westrock (assistant host): What have you thought of Mr. First Round pick, Bjorn Ironside?
Roberto: Honestly? Massive disappointment. This guy was supposed to come in here and rock the world. Everyone said he was a surefire thing. Sacks for days, blowing up the backline. But what did we actually get? He’s got a couple tackles a game, one sack, and one forced fumble.
That’s it.
1 Sack.
One.
Are we supposed to be impressed? Oh hey, he got lucky and forced one fumble. We were promised sacks. He is not successful on the field. I have always said that he would disappoint, haven’t I? I told everyone to stay away from this guy.
Roberto pauses, takes deep breath.
Maybe he should have held out. The Seawolves are a bad football team. They are lucky that the Solar Bears exist, or else they would be the laughing stock of the DSFL. I know, I know, they lost to the Pythons and Luchadores, two good teams, but if you want to compete, which Bjorn says he does, you have to step up and beat good teams. Not get 0 sacks in games against teams with winning records.
Zero.
At the end of the day, wins matter, and Bjorn isn’t getting many of those either.
Owen Westrock: What about any other new draft picks?
Roberto: I was pretty uninspired by the Luchadores draft, when they targeted quantity over quality. But after the first two games of the season I was impressed by that Joseph Wozniak. Two interceptions in his first two games? But man has he disappeared since then. If you told me he got injured and wasn’t playing I would have believed you. Seems like he got lucky early. Remember the reports that he was fighting with that other rookie safety Wayne Howyanow? I am not surprised that he has disappeared.
Owen Westrock: anything you want to comment about the Luchadores?
Roberto: The Luchadores pretty much crowned themselves kings before the season even started. I am pretty sure their GM Tom Hanks said he would eat his shorts if they lost even one game.
First week they go into Kansas City and they smash the Coyotes. They played smart, strong football. I thought to myself, “maybe they are the real deal.” But of course, they show their true colors the next week, and get crushed by the Marshals. 23 Points in the fourth quarter. Good teams don’t give up 23 points in the fourth quarter. I don’t care they beat the Seawolves and the Solar Bears, those teams suck. The Luchadores are an overrated team that beats up weaker teams, and folds under pressure. Everyone expects them to win just because they were good last year. But you know what I see? I see complacency. There is no fire, no drive to win. I guarantee that they fall apart. When they go to Portland and play the Pythons you know what is going to happen?
They will be exposed.
They will fall apart.
The true Luchadores will be shown.
