It's no secret that the San Jose Sabercats have been struggling since the inception of the team. But, after some roster moves and some changes in the front office, they are now looking to make a change in the team's culture. With the acquisition of wide receiver Darren Smallwood, the Sabercats have seen a new spark of life, and are hoping to use the momentum of his vigor to create an upswing in the activity of the team members and bring new life to the franchise.
Following the addition of Smallwood, the team made another big move, this time in the front office. Lord Nibbler, Dan Miller's adopted dog that ended up being a sentient alien sent to observe Earth, was appointed to the co-GM position after informing the Sabercats front office that the team winning an Ultimus was required to save the universe, and that we was the only one in a position to assist. Lord Nibbler was immediately accepted as the savior of the team, and lord of the realm. Lord Nibbler hath commanded that the culture must change to that of a winning atmosphere, and he hath declared that with that change in attitude will come changes in team's performance.
As part of his path to glory and the vicarious redemption and ultimate freedom of the universe, Lord Nibbler knew he would have to look to build through the future, which would mean doing some serious research for the upcoming draft, as well as all future drafts. In order to improve his knowledge and decided to appoint Denzel Diaz as his new head of scouting, and Darren Smallwood as his head of prospect outreach and rookie relations. Lord Nibbler's hope is that with this increased attention to and interaction with rookies and prospects, he can help compose a team of high character, high activity, high dedication players. A group that is focused on winning as well as camaraderie. A group equally happy lighting it up on the field, chatting in the locker room, or bonding over extracurricular team activities.
That brings us to the upcoming Season 3 Draft. The team has needs in many places, and recognizes that they will not be able to fix everything in just one draft. The front office looks to weigh character, performance, activity, and ability to find players they think will be best suited to bring a wave change of culture to the San Jose locker room.
Look to San Jose to make some bold moves throughout free agency and the draft. The team is on the upswing, the players are rallying, and the fans are hungry for success. There is something magical coming with the Sabercats, and they're on the prowl for some brothers in pads to come join the revolution.
Watch out NSFL, we're coming for you.

Quote:I'm not leaving until I bring this franchise back from the dead. Even if I have to drag it kicking and screaming to Ultimus after Ultimus. I'll probably end up dying on the field before I request a trade. This team will be a dynasty, so help me god.

Quote:I want to see us go into this draft guns blazing. Grab some guys we need, who want to be here. Grab some high class players who will make people want to play for San Jose. This team has so much potential, and I'd love to see what we can become.

Quote:This team is special. We've got a good core group of guys who want nothing more than to see this team succeed. I know the front office will do its best to put us in the position to succeed, now all we need are a few pieces. All Hail Lord Nibbler!
