Marquise Brown enters the conference room in San Antonio branded workout clothes. He just got done with one of the last training camps of the offseason in preparation for the preseason. He steps up to the podium and adjusts the mic so that it's at a suitable level.
"How are y'all doing today?" He first asks with a smile and a nod. He then takes on a more serious expression as he begins his press conference. "I'd like to start off my first press conference as a San Antonio Marshal by saying I'm thrilled to have been drafted here. I think we've got a great squad looking to make some noise this season in the DSFL and I'm happy to be a part of it. All around I think that this team is a formidable force, from defense to offense to special teams. My teammates are great, couldn't ask for better guys to be suited up with. We all have one goal in mind, and that is to win an Ultimini ring. I like being around people that have a similar mindset in winning as me, and it's definitely helped to be around them. Coaching and management have been great as well, setting me up to succeed and do great things... and I'm excited to get the season started. I'd like to take some time now and answer any questions."
"My goals going into the preseason would be to get situated with the team and to get used to working with each other. The coaches, management, the players, and I want to be operating on the same wavelength and make sure we're on the same page, and preseason is a great start. To be honest, I think we're running a tight ship already and I'm confident in our teamwork, but it's always good to prove ourselves in the preseason and to give everyone a glimpse of what we'll be doing."
"I think my main goal is pretty clear; to get this team back to the Ultimini and to get my guys some rings. I have very high expectations for this team and I think we're the best team in the league currently. Only way to prove that is to get some hardware though. Another goal I have is to prove myself to the NSFL GMs that will be watching, and to get them to notice what me and my guys have going on in San Antonio. I expect to see a lot of GMs tuning in, being that we have some phenomenal guys on our roster. "
"Totally. I'm looking forward to seeing my former college teammate Ricky Adams in Tijuana when we play them. He's a hell of an athlete and I expect a big season from him. They also have a pretty great defensive line which I know will try and cause me some trouble. I'm also excited to face Kansas City. I think they have a squad that will try and rival us, and I know our games will be close. I'm looking forward to matching up against their line. They've got guys like Ramadan Steve and D'Attoria on the defensive side who will be looking to make big plays on me, but I just gotta do what I do best. It's gonna be a great season for sure."
“The quarterback position is the most important position on the offensive side of the ball. If you don’t have a quarterback that’s clicking, then most likely your offense isn’t clicking either... I think that’s pretty self explanatory. Being a halfback means that I have to know what my quarterback is thinking, what he is doing, and what he wants me to do at all times, that also goes for other offensive positions... such as the center. Overall, having some sort of chemistry between you and your quarterback is vital if you want your offense to succeed. I believe that me and Fitzpatrick, our quarterback this season, have a strong connection and I think me and him are on the same sort of wavelength. We both want to win and we both have high expectations for the San Antonio Marshals. He’s also been helping me out in practice, making sure I develop into a better player. Hopefully that connection helps us win some games. I guess we’ll see come preseason!”
