It feels like this PT was created with the Wraiths in mind. Maybe not, but we certainly fit the bill. After two recent trips to the Ultimus championship game, the Wraiths had vowed to make this the year that they brought home the title. Instead, they found themselves off to a mediocre 2-2 start. And that was almost forgivable, but then the unimaginable happened as the Wraiths faced the Second Line on home turf… and tied. In one game, the team went from being regarded as one of the best teams in the league to being a laughing stock. Now, this isn’t to disrespect the Second Line, who have some incredible players in their locker room. The day will come when that team finally gets the respect they deserve. However, when that day comes, New Orleans will find themselves with more than just a win or two. And, until they finally break out, any win or even tie they get will come with some ridicule at the other team’s expense. And the Wraiths found themselves on the wrong end of that ridicule. The debacle obviously impacted the team’s confidence, leading to a string of losses, but they finally gained some validation when they shocked the league and achieved a victory in an away game over the Otters. However, the pressure is now on the Wraiths to keep it up or they’ll quickly find themselves back on the way to a losing season.
