In Character
I had announced in the offseason that this was going to be my last year playing in the league, but with the Ultimus game now having come to a close, it’s time to officially retire from the game. I know that I may not have lived up to the expectations placed on me as a first round draft pick, but I am very happy with my career both in terms of how long I was able to play, and also with the performance that I had on the field, even through my last season when I could really feel my age creeping up on me. I want to thank the Wraiths organization for giving me a home in my last few seasons and really welcoming me into a team that for much of my career I viewed as a bitter rival. I’m extremely proud I was able to help finally bring an Ultimus to Yellowknife. What I am most proud of though is the Ultimus that I won with the Liberty. My goal since entering the league had always been to help bring a Championship to Philly and even though it took most of my career and caused us a great deal of frustration along the way, it was absolutely worth the wait. That Ultimus is what I will look back on as my crowning achievement in my career because of how hard this team worked together to achieve it over many seasons, even when being looked down on as an expansion team. For that reason, I will be signing a one day contract to officially retire as a member of the Philadelphia Liberty. I am so thankful for the career that I have had and the many people and teammates that I have met along the way.

The NSFL was the first sim league that I joined on a whim when I saw a post in the Detroit Lions subreddit (FTP) and so Micah Hendrix is also the first player in any sim league that I have taken through a full career to retirement, even though my activity did fluctuate a bit later on. As such, I thought it might be appropriate to say a little more before finally closing the book on him.
To the OG Liberty family, the GMs @adam2552 and @Silver Fox, The Toleso Boys @`To12143`, @124715, @Perry87(Where you at??), and other great teammates like @Vikain, xdave2456 and winstonkodogo and probably a lot more people that I am forgetting I couldn’t have asked for a better team to start my sim league experience with. Glad we were able to finally get that Ultimus. Also gotta give a shoutout to @PDXBaller who even though he joined the team later on, is probably my favorite teammate of all time.
@Bzerkap thanks for bringing me into the fold in Yellowknife. You’re a fantastic GM and definitely deserved that Ultimus. Micah easily could have spent the rest of his career rotting away on another team so I’m glad I was still able to make an impact. @White Cornerback and @SwagSloth, glad I finally got to play with you guys in NSFL and actually be part of a championship team with you in this league.
Ok, maybe I didn’t have as much motivation to write this as I thought, but let’s wrap up the rest of people with some quick hits
People I still really want to play with in NSFL:
-@Muford and @evryday, obviously it’s just a matter of time
-@Ben, there’s still a chance this season in DSFL!
-@bovovovo, missed you by like a season
-@tlk742, I don’t know this guy is just a baller and a cool dude
-@Dangles13, unless we did already? I don't even remember.
-@Waters, is he still in this league?
-Basically all the Baltimore Hawks players, but especially @iamslm22, @manicmav36, @37thchamber
People I didn’t like but have grown on me:
-@iamslm22, I mean who actually likes this guy after their first impression amirite
-@kckolbe, when I first joined the league I wanted nothing more than to be better than you mostly cause we were draft rivals. Sometimes you still rub me the wrong way but I’m glad we got to be teammates and you showed some real effort to make the league a better place. You’re also like an NSFL encyclopedia it’s crazy.
-@DeathOnReddit, I don’t know why but I actually like this guy
People I liked a lot and then hated and then kind of liked but now don’t really care either way:
-@ErMurazor, You were supposed to bring balance to the force, not leave it in darkness
People I still don’t think I will ever understand (at the risk of having this post spammed):
-@Jiggly_333
People I want to recognize just cause I didn’t throw them in yet but they stick out in my mind for one reason or another:
-@timeconsumer, obviously. Probably near and dear to all our hearts
-HENDRIX, RIP the original Hendrix. My player didn’t deserve to wear the name.
-@PigSnout, cause the guy is just a legend
-@7hawk77, you did a ton of good things for the league and your player was also a legend
-youngcricket, sad that you had to go the way you did. You were always my biggest fan.
-Yurt6, that’s my quarterback (sheds tear)
-Sweetwater, I know you’re gone but drunken sim commentary always cracked me up for some reason. Also you were a fellow Lions fan and your render was Slay (FTP)
Ok idk if there’s anyone that feels like I should have said something about them but didn’t, feel free to @ me and I’ll add you.
This league has been through a lot of crazy shit and even as close as I was to just never coming back, it’s pulled me in again. Maybe it’s cause I love football so much (FTP), but I think it’s really because of the people that make up this community, and especially the people that are active in the league right now. It’s definitely not because of the sim, I will tell you that. With my new player in Hondo I’m looking to see what the blocking back can do and I’m definitely hoping it works out, but either way I’m glad to be back and a part of the league at least in some part. Can’t wait for more seasons to come in the NSFL.
