After 9 years of professional football, Tegan Atwell has decided that her tenth will be her last. A week after the Orange County Otter's most recent Ultimus win, Tegan Atwell spoke to reporters about her future and revealed that she is planning on retiring at the close of the S13 season. Citing a lingering knee and hip issue, Atwell told the press pool that her body just isn't what it used to be and can't really handle the physical stresses of professional football anymore. In her retirement, Atwell hopes to continue her crusade to eliminate gender discrimination in football and to advocate for LGBTQ rights. Her legacy is a great one, with 200+ tackles and 5,000+ receiving yards, Tegan Atwell is one of the very few NSFL players to excel on both sides of the ball. She started her career in the DSFL with the now defunct Chicago Blues as a corner back. After a few successful seasons there with the Orange County Otters, she decided to move to the wide receiver position. She would play for the Otters for her entire career, save for S10 where she was known as "Goth Atwell" playing for the Yellowknife Wraiths. Although she never won any individual awards, this latest victory marks her 3rd Ultimus trophy and she hopes to grab a 4th in her final season. This astounding career should definitely find her some post-career accolades with Orange County and possibly the league.

From John:
Of course I've already retired before and I've thanked people before and whenever I do this I always feel somewhere in between thanking people too much and not thanking enough people. I guess, the two people to get the honor for this player are @timeconsumer and @RedCydranth.
Tegan Atwell was originally created for the EFL, which is why she was a corner back to start with and not a wide receiver. The reason why I dragged her character over here instead of just letting it be this weird one-off thing in the EFL was when TC explained to me that her build made absolutely no sense and did amazing for reasons he couldn't figure out at the time. So I decided "Fuck it, let's bring her over and see what happens." And when I'd decided to change her to wide receiver, TC gave me guidelines on how to build her properly into a good wide receiver.
While he didn't have as big of an effect on helping Tegan become the player she was to become, Spector helped me with her when she was just starting out. That Chicago Blues team was pretty much doomed from the start and he was one of the people who ended up in the cross-fire of my weirdly apologetic tantrums. I'm mostly thanking him here to apologize again for that shit.
Another couple of people I'd like to thank before I get to the general stuff: @Bzerkap has always been a great friend and I was so happy to have at least one season playing with you on the Wraiths. And @Molarpistols, you were also on the "Tegan Atwell Creation Committee" and you were the one who told me to go for it when I said I wasn't happy with Leroy and wanted to try something new.
So, general thank yous to all of my former Wraiths teammates (except Dermot), they really made me feel welcome in a strange land that I knew I wasn't going to stay in very long. I'd also like to thank anyone who I was teammates with in Orange County. Many of you have never seen the .gif Grove, but I hope it will still stay preserved in my absence (if there is an absence).
Anyway, before the playoffs started Tegan did an interview with Eric Kennedy (@SwagSloth), so keep an eye out for that. And as for the future, get ready for the daughter of two local legends to become the greatest backup QB to ever kind of play.
