Its incredible to finally be here. 13 years after he entered the league, Verso L'Alto will be retiring at the end of this season. He has no regrets--nothing is guaranteed in football and his career has blossomed more than he had ever thought possible.
On a personal note, I'm very grateful for these last nearly two years in the league. I had no idea what I was getting myself into back in February 2017 when I joined, but I'm very glad I did because this dumb little time suck has blossomed into something rewarding and humbling and which I still have no good way of explaining to anyone. For this, I'm grateful to the whole community, especially the Baltimore Hawks and Tijuana Luchadores.
On that note, I want to give a few words of appreciation to some specific users who have made my time in the league incredible.
First, @iseedoug. Not even sure what to say, other than you're everything one could ask for in a GM partner and fellow sim-leaguer and its been odd that we haven't stayed in touch as much over the last couple of months, so let's change that.
@iamslm22 for support both in the league and in real life. I've always felt you in my corner and that's a really huge asset.
@ADwyer87 for being an awesome Commish. Probably my biggest regret of the last two years is not being able to be on HO with you, but I've always trusted your leadership and I know the league is better for it.
@timeconsumer for showing how this sim even works. So much of any credit I've earned as a GM is owed to you and I'm sure much the league is similarly indebted.
There are literally so many other people I want to shout out that it feels unfair I can't mention them all-- @Beaver, @Daybe, @YoungTB, @PDXBaller, @Jiggly_333, @Toasty, @DeathOnReddit, @Eco, @manicmav36, @124715, @White Cornerback, @SwagSloth, @AdamS, @PaytonM34, @[Bovovovovovovo] and so many more. I hope that anyone else I haven't named knows they are appreciated.
I'm not going anywhere, personally, at least not yet. I know haven't been around as much over the last 2-3 months, but I will be recreating. I won't be as active as I was before and I don't anticipate taking on any jobs, but that's all for another post. Basically, this post is just a bit of me reconnecting with the league in the twilight of L'Alto's career and taking a moment to be grateful.
God bless,
nunc
