Written Option: In 200 words, look ahead towards the postseason, either NSFL or DSFL. Who do you see coming out on top? What dark horse teams do you think can make a run? Will your player be a vital part of your team’s championship, or will you be sobbing on the couch at home? Give your best predictions here.
I can see Austin going all the way and winning the Ultimus this year. After all if they don't then regardless I get the TPE from doing this point task and surpass Kazimir Oles as the highest TPE peak in NSFL history. Austin has not only won the championship already within the last 3 seasons, but on top of that has added the first overall pick from last years draft into its young core too. Despite the awful 1-4-1 start to the season, the Copperheads turned it around to smash cunts and break their way into this years playoffs. They then curbstomped the New Orleans Penalty Line in the wildcard game. I don't think we're a dark horse because what prick of a dark horse is it if they won it a mere two seasons ago it doesnt make sense. I dont think my player will be vital to austins championship win because if youve got all the abilities of your working senses youll have understood by now that he's functionally braindead out there. I will be sobbing on the couch at home because like most people in this league I am a loser who has not developed the restraints needed to prevent myself from logging on here each week although I have managed to limit my interactions with the vast majority.
For the 1st time in my career I will be sitting at home during the playoffs. It's a bitter feeling knowing the team that you didn't leave voluntarily our Ultimus favorites and are coming off their best season in years. That being said it only drives to do better and raise my game even further to make sure this is the only season I'm not in the playoffs. That being said my former team, the Yellowknife Wraiths look posed to finally break their cursed streak and finally win the Ultimus. Offensively they are lead by 2 big time RBs that more then carry the load offensively, combined with a big play passing attack lead by QB Cooter Bigsby and WR Nate Swift the pair have lite up opposing secondaries and I predict that will continue. Then there's an almost historic defense lead by DE Nero Alexander. They joined a handful pf teams to give up less then 200 total points in a season. The problem with the Wraiths failed Ultimus runs is that in the Ultimus one of the sides of the ball let them down. But this team looks more balanced and dominate then previous seasons and I predict this postseason is the one were it all comes together for the Wraiths.

22 fucking years.
Imagine being a Yeti fan. A diehard. Watching your team struggle through mediocrity for so many years while other dynasties rise and fall. Not this year. This is the year that the Yeti take it home. This is it. With the strongest start in team history, it might seem like it would have been a sure thing. But like every year, it seems luck was not on their side. Sure, they have one of the most talented rosters of all time but that might not be enough because the Wraiths themselves are having a historically good year. It is going to come down to a game between them to see who advances to the final, and it is safe to say the real Ultimus this year is that NSFC title game. No offense to the other conference, we just know what is going to happen. The Yeti will shock the world and take win it. Their stellar defense will rise to the occasion, with many grizzlied vets and young superstars playing for something more meaningful than their counterparts. This is it for the Yeti, their window will be closing soon. They need to win, and they are going to win. The Ultimus is coming to Colorado, where it belongs. 22 fucking years. ![]()
The post season is a difficult animal to predict but I'll give it my best. The dark horse teams right now are the Sarasota Sailfish and Austin Copperheads. Sailfish are the new kids on the block and no one expected them in the post season, they did make in with a losing record. But yet here they are and the team could be dangerous if opponents underestimate them. And Austin is a team that had a rough start to the season but recently started to get hot. Which, in playoffs terms, is what you want to do. Many discounted them because of their start but I think they could become a dangerous playoff team and could make it all the way.
But in all seriousness, I think my Sailfish will get eliminated. I know the team is happy to be in the playoffs. It helps boost our morale and gets the team excited for the next season. We have a young core to look forward to and many more opportunities to win it all will arise. As for the serious contenders are the Orange County Otters and Yellowknife Wraiths. These these will be the final 2. In the end, it'll be a rough fought victory but I think the winner will be the Otters. Code: 212 words
This is yellowknife's year. Now I know what you're thinking, how can this be Yellowknife's year when you have said this every season and they have managed to fuck it up every season? Because I have faith, that's why. Every year we get counted out and every year we end up out anyway so I guess they were right but damnit this year is different. We're going to get all the way to the Ultimus this year again and we're actually going to win it this time. I think we're going to end up facing OCO again which would be kinda funny since it will be our third Ultimus against them but hell why not, it could be fun. So we'll hopefully be able to beat them this time but who knows. You know what I've been wondering? What if the Ultimus isn't on the home field turf of the top team? What if the stadium is always in the ASFC? Why? Who knows this game does lots of stupid shit. But it is interesting how many times the ASFC has won the Ultimus and not the NSFC. Is it possible that there is actually a bias for one conference over another in the playoffs that nobody (probably not even the devs) is aware of? It would be a bitch and a half to try and figure it out since you would need to sim and reload the Ultimus game like 500 times to get a good idea of the win rate and decide if there was something different from an exhibition. Food for thought I guess. Yellowknife is gonna win.

It’s time for some NSFL Playoffs predictions! Since my team Sarasota lost on the wildcard week, though it was a great season debut all things considered, I’d like to think there's two types of scenarios in which things unfold for the rest of the postseason: the very best team of regular season wins it all or one surprise upset occurs and we get a different kind of Ultimus champion. For the former I’ll go with the Otters and for the latter I choose the Yeti.
We all know that Orange County is the great dynasty of the NSFL and with the experience they have (8 titles won) I can see them comfortably waiting for their rival in the Ultimus game; first they have to defeat Austin with home field advantage. During the season both got a win against each other, though this time I'm sure the Otters won’t be disappointing their fans and they can count on his QB Armstrong to lead them to victory. Now, for the case of a dark horse I see a chance for the Yeti to finally return to an Ultimus game; they have a great team with an explosive QB/RB duo and though they first need to get a win in Yellowknife, I don't think they have to go through a complicated path as the one in the ASFC conference. We’ll soon see how things work out for both of these teams, hopefully we end up with a very entertaining postseason no matter who gets the title. |
