One of the most exciting events I've experienced so far in my time within the ISFL was the DSFL draft. Leading up to the draft, the prospect bowl was very exciting, and being on the winning team definitely didn't hurt. The Brooklyn Atlantics story is one of astounding heartbreak closely followed by glorious triumph; some might say their comeback from the brink of elimination was even more exciting than the Patriots Super Bowl comeback against the Falcons. The players were certainly more likable. The whole prospect bowl process definitely made me feel hyped for the draft. This is probably the case for most people, but my favorite part about the draft without a doubt was when I got drafted. I was drafted by the Dallas Birddogs, the single greatest franchise in the DSFL. The Birddogs have a lot of good things to write about; the best logo in the league, fire memes in guest chat, an incredibly versatile array of discord emotes, but my single favorite part about being a Birddog are my fellow Birddogs. The other players on the team old and new alike along with our GMs and legacy players have been super helpful and consistently informative, and I couldn't have been drafted by a better team. The Slip

It’s strange to think how one small slip can have such a large impact. Yeboah knows how big a impact a single slip can have on a person. He knows because it happened to him in what is to this day the biggest game of his career. 


In his freshman year at Penn State they got to the rose bowl against USC, the game was tied at 49-49 and USC were on a drive with 40 seconds left on the clock. On their own 35 yard line they got to 4th and 4. USC called a pitch and their RB came flying out with the ball but Yeboah had worked out the play and was there to meet him. It was a play he had made so many times. Hit the RB, stop him from getting the 1st down and give the ball back to Penn State in excellent field position. But as the USC RB came into the open field past his offensive line, Yeboah slipped. His fingers grazing the RB’s jersey as he went past him to get the 1st down. USC would go on to kick a field goal on that drive and win the game. 

All Yeboah could see for days after it was his slip. It followed him everywhere. It fuels a anger in him to this day. He can’t ever let a mistake like that happen again. And he won’t. Believe that.

First of all let me just say, rest in piece Trivia, I hope one day they will return.

During one of our earliest Hahalua group events we decided to play some good ol Jackbox. For those unaware, jackbox is a game you can play with friends using only ur phone to write in prompts and other stuff easy to do games. It is also the ultimus test to see who can be the unfunniest.

We played a good selection of games with the high light being Tee K.O. Which is a game in which you make t-shirt designs and t-shirt captions. Then you get random designs/captions from a select pool and have to choose the best combination of design and caption.

Being edgy young adults a ton of our captions were self depricating jokes, depressing quotes and sex.

While non of my shirts won, I did have a caption which did very well in the K.O. rounds. The caption was 'Not even Jesus can save your soul'. It got a good reaction from the crowd and it made it very far into the tournament from a very early start.

Also I always made a solid depressing sonic design, which has also never won, but it always wins in my heart.

Anyways if you havent done any jackbox stuff, I highly recommend.

im at a point in this league where I think in my 3 years existence on this platform where I'm at my lowest interest in the league and no its not because of anything the league has really done, i think for everyone there just comes a point where you get fed up of logging onto the site or checking the sim or whatever, everything but maybe talking to people in the discord LR just becomes a drag, i plan to reitre lavelle jr after 13 seasons but as of late I think I might hang it up maybe at the end of this season if the feeling strikes

originally I had planned on stepping away from the site as a player and maybe continue working on the wikipedia as daft as it sounds but im going to step away for good from all these leagues, sign out for good and maybe delete the discord account tied to the user, I need to go out and do much more than I've been doing, ive been content ever since getting employed to just wake up, work out, go to work, finish work, log onto discord and for the better part of the day, sleep and refresh, bar the weekends it's pretty much the same thing for me daily, which is fine because I need a schedule but now I think I need more, I think I need to progress and improve in every facet of my life and discover new ones at that, in terms of this PT maybe most wont have realised it but for the most part I've checked out here, I log on, I talk in the discord, do the PT's log out, thats it

Rest in peace trivia. A fun fact that happened in the Dallas Birddog discord and one of the biggest events that happened in Dallas is the game Pokecord. Pokecord would spawn new pokemon whenever people are chatting in one of the rooms within the server. During the inaugural, the game ran rampant and everyone was involved. All the participants ranged from Steg, Gucci, Kyle, Bayley, Edd, Lim and a whole lot of players. This was what tied the Dallas server together. There was a certain point in the server where catching a pokemon is next to impossible. With everyone on, a person could not catch one without trying in less that 2 second of it spawning. This led to a lot of users going to other team servers and catching pokemon from their servers. So everyone was poke-stealing from everyone elses servers. Now this is where a lot of hilarity happened within Dallas, and one time during a streamed game, a legendary pokemon spawned but everyone in the discord missed it. The one time where everyone was online and it was missed. This made a lot of people irrationally angry, but one user got hit harder, which is Edd. Then people copy and pasted the missed pokemon and started spamming it in the spawn channel. It led to a lot of users falling for the trick but it was funny. Also, rest in peace Pokecord, you’re missed everyday.

To me, the most interesting thing that has happened to my player was during the S22 Ultimini. My running back, Richard Gilbert, ended up scoring the only touchdown in that entire game by either team, giving us the edge and the win over the London Royals. I remember being extremely excited for the game. I was a send down at the time, but both my current team, the Luchadores, and the team that drafted me, the Colorado Yeti had made it to their respective championship games and were playing on the same day. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, S22 being just my second season in the league and having a stake in both the major and minor league championships was extremely exciting for me. In the Ultimini up through halftime, the game was tied at just 3-3, with really nobody on either offense really flashing, including myself. So when I finally punched a 4 yard run into the endzone about halfway through the third quarter for that first touchdown, I practically jumped out of my chair. Given how the game had gone up to that point, it was a fair assumption that that single play would be the deciding play. That would turn out to be true, as the only other score for the rest of the game would be a Royals fourth quarter field goal.

In the spirit of discovery I would love to share a story of something that Brach Thomaslacher experienced in his first year of the DSFL. The emotions were high and Brach was coming out of a college career that was one for the record books. Texas Tech defensive records were being shattered left and right and Brach was at the center of it all. He had made such a great name for himself that the DSFL had taken notice. He was a top prospect coming into the S23 DSFL draft and Brach just knew he was going to go in the first round. Excitement and nervousness crept in on draft day but, brach had a sense of calm knowing he would be selected high. he watched his friends go off the board, one by one and knew his name was about to be called. Then the first round passed... and then the second round passed. Brach was baffled, he fell all the way to the 3rd round and he had no idea why. He managed to have a competitive season and was thrown into some scenarios he had never imagined. From playing defensive end and not being very happy about it, to realizing he was not the best on the field anymore. He learned a lot in his first year in the DSFL, but in the spirit of discovery he found just how hard he was going to have to work to truly be the best that was out their on the field!

I don't really have too much to go off of here considering how new I am to this league. One aspect of Donald McBobby's story that I have explored previously is his devastating injury in college that led him to miss two seasons - but there's not much else left to explore about it, I don't think. This offseason McBobby has worked the hardest he ever has in his entire life, trying to get into the greatest shape possible. As a trade deadline create, McBobby joined the Norfolk Seawolves late in season 23, and as a result really didn't get to play at all. Though he technically won a championship with that team, it doesn't really feel meaningful at all as McBobby wasn't there for most of the season and wasn't really recognized as part of the team. After falling all the way to #47 in the DSFL draft, it feels like he can build his own legacy with the Portland Pythons, and more importantly feels like he's actually part of something. I think that's well represented by his excellent performance in week one of season 24. The hard workand dedication pays off, and McBobby is looking to help play a part in elevating the last-place Pythons into playoff contenders and eventually title contenders.

Now that Trivia has been sent to the Rainbow Bridge along with all of my childhood pets, I think I will look back fondly on my times of learning stupid things about the league nobody could possibly care about. One of those things, a piece of Trivia if you will, would be my pre-game ritual. Everyone knows that athletes have rituals they perform in order to get themselves in the right mindset for the competition and the physical beating they’re about to take. What I do before every game is take huge rips off of a dab rig until I start seeing double. I figure that I’m so unpolished right now with my accuracy, my chances of completing a pass actually go up if I’m so faded off the kush that I cannot see singular entities but double—sometimes triple if I don’t stop. Luckily I have a big fat contract that I signed, so I can just go to the dispensary and snag a gram of concentrated cannabis that’s like off the charts THCA levels and get completely “in the zone”, if you know what I mean. Some people can’t handle this sort of thing, but considering my Dad and Uncle both did similar things throughout their careers and they’re arguably the two greatest players ever at their respective positions, I think there should be plenty of understanding.
