Media Grading Update

IMO it seems overly complicated. You're making the people who want articles graded do an extra step. Since that's going to be 95% of people who post articles in the media section, it would have been easier on everyone to ask people who don't want their articles graded to do an extra step.

IMO, if it's posted, it's ready to grade, unless it's explicitly stated it's not ready to grade. From a graders perspective, it just requires you to check the post for something indicating it's not (which would be easy assuming graders actually read/scan articles already). That's going to rarely happen and even when it does most of the time it's less than a couple days before it's done.

It is an extra step but it is hardly complicated, come on man. This makes it super easy for graders, and a tiny bit more work for the writer. I think the payoff is fair, considering everyone wants media graded faster.

I tend to agree with this. People just want their money once they post something. Discussion can continue even if something is moved to the graded area.

I would be more inclined to suck it up if i saw a benefit to it for the graders, but really seems like this really doesn't make the job easier at all. now instead of lookign for articles in the media section they look for articles in a thread? Doesn't seem to make a real difference

And yeah i mean nothing stopping graders from just saying "we will grade your topic ASAP, and if you dont like it, either say so in your article or suck it up!", feel like that would be the better option

Obviously the graders see a benefit if they decided to implement this change. People wanted articles graded faster, and the graders believe this will make it faster. I can't believe people are fussing this much about literally copying and pasting a link into a thread

Well before we were waiting a week of inactivity before grading.

Now we can grade it and still wait that week and then move it to the "graded articles section" to get the pay out faster.

Yes it's extra work for someone who wants to get paid faster, however if they don't post it there, it will still get graded and they will still get paid.
They will just have to wait around a week to get paid.


I don't really see a downside to this if the end user can opt-out of doing it.

We could do self grading. I could make a Google form, users would complete the form after they make their article, every Wednesday (or other random day) we would spot check some of the submitted payment requests and post to the bank. Would alleviate a lot of the demand on the graders, and put the burden to be paid on the writer. So if the writer wants to be paid immediately, they fill out the form immediately.

If we did this we would have to set 1 grader specifically to grade stat articles as they are done on a subjective rubric and can't be auto paid.

I don't think you need a Google form, just a stickied post and it can be verified just like when bankers process something

So someone writes an article and then posts how much they should get paid? Then this is still entered to the bank once a week by the graders? This seems to put the majority of the work on the writer and hardly anything for the graders. Am I missing something? How often do bankers process transactions? We would coincide the payments with that. So if bankers process them on Friday, we'd post all the self-graded articles on Thursday.

I think the Google Form is better than having users post the amount in a thread because it would do all the calculations and formatting, writers would just enter their Username, link, and word count.

If graders could have the majority of deposits posted on Friday night, I do most of my work on Saturdays. I'm currently trying to come up with a smoother bank system, but having depots posted by Friday would actually be a big help in the meantime.
