Tier 2 – 5 TPE

10) Describe your player and/or team’s journey through this latest season. What were the highlights? What were the lower points? What might you have done differently? What are your expectations for next season?

This was my players rookie season in the ISFL.  I joined the New Orleans Second Line, a team that the season prior had made it all the way to the Ulitmus game and unfortunately lost.  Coming into the season, I think most people didn’t expect too much from us.  From what I can tell, there is usually quite a bit of turnover in the standings season to season, so Ulitmus finalist aren’t always the favourites the following season.  This really seemed to be the case for us.  It didn’t help that we had a rough start to the season, dropping the first two games on the season.  And at the half way point of the season, we sat at 3-5, not a record that makes you think that this team is a contender. After yet another loss in week 9, we decided enough was enough, and proceeded to go on a 4 game winning streak, which was stopped by the Orange County Otters.  This would be the last loss of the regular season for us Second Liners, we finished the season at 9-7, all thanks to our very strong 2nd half of the season.

We entered the playoffs as the underdogs, but a dominate first round win definitely turned some heads and our 2nd win against the heavily favoured Hahaluas bought us a trip to the Ultimus, for the second season in a row.  Our Ulitmus game didn’t go as well.  Up against the Sarasota Sailfish, the team with the best regular season in the league, proved that they were the top team in the end.  It was a hell of a run, something I know I will never forget.  Being this close to the ultimate prize has done nothing but make me want to help get back there again and come out the winner this time.  So much work and dedication went into getting us there for a second season in a row, I really wanted to do everything I could to help make it happen.  I will not stop trying to get back there, and with the players we have in the locker room and the players we've drafted in the DSFL, I have no doubt we'll be back at the big dance in time and this time, we will be raising the Ultimus over our heads!

As for my player, with the help of the entire team, he was able to have the best season of all of the rookie defenders and took home the award for the Defensive Rookie of the Year to show for it.  So, if I had to sum up and describe this season, I would say that it was very exciting, full of emotion, a great learning experience, humbling and most of all, fun as shit!!

Tier 3 – 2.5 TPE

28) We’ve now finished a whole season in the new sim. What do you think about it? Are things working well for your player and team, or are there changes you think might be made?
I really enjoyed the new sim.  The overall look of the streams has really improved and being able to see the ball in the air really adds to the immersion. There were definitely some oddities seen during some of our games and I’m sure all the other teams can say the same, things like not using time outs during a final drive in the 4th quarter.  Punting while down by a score, late in a game in the opponent’s half on 4th and inches and missed field goals, so many missed field goals (totally not our 300 TPE kickers fault!).  The only real criticism I have with the new sim is the legibility of the play by play text (I’m usually watching it on my phone, so it might be much better on a big screen) and that there isn’t a constant stat chart on screen like the old sim.  I feel that I’m focussing so much on the game action during the actual play, and this is when the player stats are being shown in the bottom left corner.  By the time the play is over, I never get a good look at the players numbers because it switched over to games stats.  All in all, I really enjoy the new sim and look forward to seeing NOLA win games on it for the foreseeable future!

9) If you could create a team using any active players in the league, what would that team look like? Would you build a group of all-stars to contend in the next Ultimus, or a team full of jokesters for the fun of it? Describe the roster and why you chose the players you did.

For this task I just want to build the best possible team so I will look through the S27 results page and build a roster this way and see what I end up with.

At Quarterback, the best player was clearly B. Slothisberger.
At Running Back, I think I want the best two players, which were T. Nakamura and R. Chan.
At Wide Receiver, I will choose five guys: W. Lim, E. Barker, J. Podolak, T. Hood and J. Kingston.
At Tight End, there will be two of them. I choose J. Angler and A. McCormick.
At Offensive Line, you want to have five of them at least: S. Tremblay, A. Mellott, T. Pest, B. Buckley and J. Cue

At Defensive Tackle I will choose B. Edd and H. Steel.
At Defensive End, I want K. Kane-Maika'i and S. Ryeu
At Linebacker there is a lot of options and I want D. Quaid, D. De Ville, J. Joestar and M. Murder-Moose
At Cornerback, I want A. Witten, D. Scarlett, O. Firestorm-Fjord and C. Mendoza.
At Safety, I want E. Smoothie, C. Clemente, S. Dawkins and M. Bowie.

At Kicker, I will take J. Fencik
At Punter, I want J. Jay-Jaymison
At Kick Returner, the team will have M. Krause.
At Punt Returner, I want J. Kingston. 

Let's look at the team more. Slothisberger is a great Quarterback and had a great season with over 5000 yards and a great TD-INT ratio. The two Running backs are obvious choices. They both have over 1500 yards and 15 TDs. The Wide Receivers are all in the top, with yards, catches and touchdowns. Tight Ends were also good with yards and catches and touchdowns. Offensive Line I mainly looked at the pancakes and then looking for people who have not given up a lot of sacks either. 

The defense was much harder. For the defensive line, I looked at the tackles, sacks and tackles for loss, also at forced fumbles. With linebackers, I think you have to look at almost all the stats, since there are different types of linebackers in the league and what they are better at. Cornerback is something where you want the pass deflections and the interceptions, but also some good tackles. Safety is very similar in that regard as well. 

Kicker I wanted someone who will be very solid and also has some good accuracy from a distance. Punter I looked at the average and inside 20. Kick returner there was the average and punt returner, Kingston was just so much better than anyone else.

10. After a not so exciting S26, Big Edd and the Colorado yeti were determined to step up their game and make a run this season. The 8-8 record left a sour taste in their mouths, something they did not want to experience again. It just was not something they were used to… not Colorado and definitely not big Edd. However, despite all the anticipation and eagerness to outperform the lackluster S26, the Colorado Yeti flopped to open the season. A 1-3 start had the Colorado yeti players in fear of sucking for another season. Big Edd, despite the 1-3 record, was beginning to show hints of his old self. The old big Edd that repeated as defensive tackle of the year. With 3 sacks in those 4 games he was a pretty clear leader for the DTOTY race. He had his eyes set on it and it was clear in his performance that he wanted it badly. He was having fun especially after getting a chance to tackle the man himself Raphtalia Chan. The loss did not stop Big Edd from taking pictures with Chan and even switching jerseys with him. According to edd it was a wonderful opportunity and couldn’t pass on it. But little did big edd know, the fun was just getting started. He would go on a tear the next couple of weeks demolishing Oline and throwing down quarterbacks. There wasn’t a single soul that seemed capable of stopping the beast that Edd is. In arguably his best regular season game, Big Edd carried his team to the win and put on a show. The Baltimore Hawks oline had no answers for big Edd skill. They tried everything from doubling, tripping, and even holding him. But of course, even that wasn’t enough to hold Big Edd down. He finished with a whopping 7 tackles, a sack, two forced fumbles, and was lucky enough to recover one of them too. Big Edd was back into his ultimate form and it was just in time as the Colorado yeti were able to flip their season around winning six of the next seven games placing them just outside the playoff picture. From the outside looking in, big Edd gathered his team and told them that if they were going to make a push for the ultimus, they were going to have to put forth even more effort and work. And that is exactly what they did. They breezed past Philly, took a tough loss to the wraiths but still were in prime spot to clinch that 3 seed. An upset followed by a last second Hail Mary helped the yeti somehow make the playoffs.

Tier 2 Task 7 Rookie Time in the League

So to be 100 percent honest my time in the league hasn't been that great so far.  When I first joined the league I was lucky in the sense that I had done a sim before as I'm in PBE right now, so it was kind of easy for me to figure out the Just of what I needed to do.  I jumped right into, the rookie guide was great in that aspect.  I had no problems finding where I should go for my rookie tasks and even figuring out the little more complicated updating of the different builds compared to PBE was pretty straight forward.  I joined the rookie discord and everyone I talked to was actually awesome.  I had no problems the GMs that I talked to in there were all accommodating and everyone was pretty nice.  That was until I saw there was a prospects bowl that happened about 3 days after I was in here.  I hadn't heard a thing about it.  I can't stress how kind of ridiculous it was that I had joined the league, 3 days later I still had not heard from anyone in the Mentoring department and I had no idea about this prospect bowl that was going on.  I figured that at least I would get a heads up in the main area of the rookie chat.  Hey rookies if you didn't get in make sure you go sign up right now and you will be able to get into the prospect bowl if you are not in you can sign up on the forum.  It seems kind of simple and prob would go a long way to making some of the rookies feel like the community.  Right now it seems like its a bunch of small communities which is great and could be amazing.  But a little bit more help on the beginning front would go a long way.  Like I said if I was someone who just kind of found this and had never done anything like this I would have been left out in the lurch and if I didn't have people tell me it gets better I would have quit already.  On more of the good stuff, I do like the way that everyone is pretty supportive of each other, I haven't really seen people goin gat each others throats or anything like that yet.  Though, that does happen everywhere.  The GM's that I have talked to have all been awesome and giving me some ideas of what i need to do and where to progress next.  Thank god for them.

Tier 2 task 15 

I am also in another league called the Pro Baseball Experience.  I play for the New Orleans Rougarous.  That was the first sim league that I have ever been  a part of.  When I first joined the league I did have the same problems but a little more so because I didn't understand what these tasks and thins like that were.  But I found quickly that getting on an exapansion team and then playing in the minor leagues went a long way to getting to know the people in the game and more about the game itself.  I had a great team i was on the 66ers we made it to the championship and lost because thats what the 66ers do.  After that I was pulled into the majors in only my second season so the team didn't have to go out and pay a bunch of people to be on the team when we wanted to spend less money.  Which made a lot of sense.  My player got better and better.  I did have to change my name from Johnny Dickshot to Via Getty because they didn't want any bad names in there.  But last year the team won the world series, I pitched in 3 out of 7 games so that was pretty awesome.  It was one of the first times that I thought that I actually helped the team out a lot with my player.  I love the community there even if I'm not part of the big clique or have a lot of money I somehow do still feel a part of the league thanks to the team.  And honestly I really hope to find that here too.  

Its fun to watch the streams, I think they have done a really good job at having the play by play callers in there and they are able to stream a few games and it usually is about a hour and a half experience.  Now thats honestly a little too long for me, maybe something along the like hour to hour and a half would be the way to go with simming a bunch of the games but when I am around.  I do enjoy the announcers and the chatting that goes on in the chat room that is attached to the twitch.  I play in MLR as well which is the league where you guess fake numbers.  Its pretty different then this in the sense that we guess numbers and have scouting based on how we go against other players.  A lot of fun and actually feel a bit more genuine.

10) Well where else to begin other than setting the stage for our latest season. Coming into the season we know that we are going to be a good team. We won 10 games the season before, and we only had a couple of players regress while the rest of our team was still earning like crazy. We thought we might have a chance at improving on our 10 win season and possibly win even more games than that. We also had a couple of players who had been on our team for a really long time, and we knew that their careers were coming to an end sooner or later. Those players were wide receiver Sean O’Leary and linebacker Mike Hockhertz. They are both two of the top players in the Chicago Butchers entire history. So we wanted to win a championship for them. Our preseason was pretty forgettable, grabbing 2 wins and 2 losses. I suppose that every team’s preseason is pretty forgettable though to be honest. I bet 99% of the people in the league have no idea how their team did in the preseason last season. Okay, it’s time for the regular season. It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for. We’re facing the Yellowknife Wraiths, who I think were the defending Ultimus champions. It’s going to be a tough game, but we somehow pulled it off! Man, this really might be our season if we were able to defeat such a good team. We end up rattling off 3 more wins after that one to start our season off with a 4 game win streak. All 4 of these wins came against divisional opponents as well, which is pretty huge for us. Our next 4 games weren’t quite as awesome for us though. We got 1 win and 3 losses in those next 4. One of these games was one of the weirdest games I have ever been a part of. It was week 7, we were playing the Fire Salamanders in Berlin. I remember checking the score and seeing that it was 5-5 at one point and being so confused. The final score ended up being 8-5. This game actually came back to bite us later in the season. We ended up finishing the season 12-4, pretty much meeting our expectations! Unfortunately, the Sailfish also finished the season 12-4, and like I said, that low scoring game came back to bite us. First tiebreaker is head to head, which was tied. Second tiebreaker is divisional record, which was tied. The next tiebreaker is points scored. We were 17 points behind Sarasota, so they got the first round bye in the playoffs. We ended up getting bounced in the playoffs in the first round, before we even met the rival Sailfish.

17) As you may already have been aware, I play for the Chicago Butchers as a kicker. A real life butcher typically deals with a lot of, well, blood. For some ungodly reason, our organization’s marketing team somehow thought that it would be a good idea to take advantage of this. I think it was a horrible idea, but upper management decided they also liked the idea. This idea was to put ketchup on everything. It looks like blood, so it matches our brand, apparently. Ketchup on hot dogs? Sure, that’s common enough. Burgers? Yep, that’s not too strange. Spaghetti? Okay we are starting to get weird, and also why are we serving spaghetti at a football game in the first place, does anyone else do this? Sandwiches? You’re losing me. Pop corn? Oh no, what have you done? It is probably the grossest thing that I have ever seen. Well at least, it would be if they hadn’t started putting ketchup on candy bars and cotton candy. A sugary snack with ketchup on it should be illegal. My GMs need to be locked up as soon as is humanly possible. They are lucky that I haven’t decided to ask for a trade, or just straight up leave the team yet.

21) I think that there are two teams with really good branding that I really like. I am kind of struggling to figure out which of the two I really like more, so I’ll just list them both I guess. The first team with branding that I’m a big fan of is the Orange County Otters. Using an otter as the team’s mascot and logo is really unique. I’ve never seen a sports team use an otter before. The choice to play in Orange County is also really good, because OCO is a really cool abbreviation for a team. Whether you say it as “oh see oh” or “ohko”, it flows off the tongue really well. The Sarasota Sailfish also have really nice branding. The bright and vibrant colors are nice to look at. Like the otters, the sailfish is a really unique mascot and logo. The only team I can think of that uses something similar is the Miami Marlins. The Sarasota Sailfish shares something else with the Miami Marlins, and that is the alliteration of the name, with the double S sound. The more I think about it, the more I think that the Sarasota Sailfish just kind of ripped off the Miami Marlins. They’re even based in the same state!

What is it that keeps you interested in the league?
This is my first ever player in a sim league. At the start, it was mainly curiosity and it seemed to combine a lot of things I like in computer games, simulation sports, American Football etc. I started to get interested in learning more about photoshop as I had used it a few times before making stuff for my band. I was able to use the league stuff to learn more techniques and ways to use it which was really fun. Later I started getting interested in the statistical side of things. I have always kind of enjoyed maths, and I was doing statistics as part of a university course right now. I was able to try out different math ideas on our leagues to see what I could find. I enjoy the problem-solving aspect of that. It gives me something to think about and figure out and then try out. I like that whole process and then the moment when you figure out how to do it is pretty satisfying. The general idea is very interesting to me as well, I think it’s a concept that could expand and become something bigger. Having a game where the way you play it is to interact with the community is a really elegant idea. The more people engage the better their players get, but also the better the experience is for everyone. I could see it being used to help people who are isolated. Our communities are being dismantled by the way our society organizes itself and with the reduced interest in religion, people don’t really have a community to be a part of. A community that isn’t just people who think exactly the same as you, or are your friends you’ve known forever, but an actual community. Where there are people you don’t agree with or get along with, but you find a way to co-exist with them. There’s a support network there and a shared goal that can help bring people together. I think it can be a really powerful thing. I also enjoy being part of a team. It’s fun watching the games and cheering on our dots and you get really invested in the fortunes of your imaginary team. That is a special thing and has been very helpful during the pandemic, for me. It has given me something to focus on that I feel like I’m making progress with. Given me the chance to have some fun making stupid pictures and meet some great people I would never have met.

15) write about your ideas for a sim league with another sport
I would love to be a part of a football sim league. Or as you Americans know it soccer. There are already multiple games with big modding communities such as Fifa or Pro Evolution Soccer, but I think the best option would be Football Manager. The game is so in-depth. What is most impressive is the accuracy of the player scouting in the game, which I suppose is lost if everyone is player created.  The tactics are amazing as you can control every detail, from formations, style of play, set pieces, mentality anything you can think of you could do. I’m not sure how much you can alter your players appearance etc. but you can definitely create a team pretty easily. Football works differently as it doesn’t have a salary cap/draft system and instead teams can just buy and sell players as they want as long as they don’t spend more money than they make. It relies on youth players from a youth system in-club instead of a college system. Teams could have a youth team that plays in a youth league like the DSFL and then they could graduate to the first team once they are needed. I’m not sure how it would work with new prospects, maybe teams would try to lure them to their team rather than having a draft. The players get to choose what team they join but the youth teams can only have a certain number of players maybe. If they want another player and are at capacity, they have to sell one of their players or promote them to the full squad. I’m guessing as it started you probably wouldn’t need youth teams but as it grew it might be a good idea to allow players to be vetted and give them something to do whilst waiting to get into a first-team. One thing that football has that I enjoy is multiple leagues where teams get relegated and promoted. If your team has a terrible season and ends up at the bottom, they have to go into the league below. They then need to finish in a good position(or win) the following year to have a chance at getting back to the top league. There is 11 players on the field at any time and usually about 7 subs so your squad could be about 18/20 as I think in these sort of leagues you can't have injuries. Substitutes are more important in football as you can change the dynamic of the game or the tactic you are using with a substitution. I think people might still get a bit bored if they started on the bench but it gives people a chance to come in and fight for a position. I think it would be difficult to figure out the details of how new players get into the league, maybe just borrow the draft system from American sports. I can imagine it being very popular in Europe though and if anyone knows of any let me know cause I would like to try it out.

10.) Describe your player and/or team’s journey through this latest season. What were the highlights? What were the lower points? What might you have done differently? What are your expectations for next season? 

My players start to the season was slightly late and a little slow. I wasn't as good an earner as a lot of the other rookies so I quickly fell behind the other players until I finally got on a roll and started pouring points into my player's build. With that debacle out of the way though, Siege Cameron and his Coyote comrades embarked on an amazing journey through the season. 

When I entered the locker room and first started interacting at the start of the season I quickly found out that last year's KCC team went 1-13 and they were trying to turn it all around this season. However, the Coyote's first half of this season started off almost as bad as last season. If I remember correctly we started off with a solid record of 2-2 with lots of optimism, but then immediately went on a 5 game losing streak to give us a stinking record of 2-7. It was not the start that anybody wanted but we knew we were a young team and a not-so-good record would be expected even if we wanted to surpass last season's limits. I didn't mind this sort of record and locker room mood though. Sure, we were a little disappointed but as a whole we weren't particularly upset and were just happy to be earning and fighting hard in games. Some of those games were close losses and had some great individual performances so we just brushed off what went wrong and celebrated what went right. Everyone including me was having fun on a bottom team with high potential. 

But then, the unthinkable happened, and it all started with me making a bold claim to boost team morale even more. After our descent to 2-7 on the season, I looked at the standings as a whole and did a little bit of an analysis. My quick analysis told me that despite our horrid start to the season, it was still mathematically possible to make the playoffs. It required that we won all 5 of final games and two of the other teams in our conference to fall apart to finish their seasons. Sure, it was a long shot, but it was worth every bit of hope the way I saw it. And the way our defense had been coming together, I had no doubt that we would pull it off. 

Sure enough, we won 5 straight games to finish the season which included a big win against the Dallas juggernaut in our last week, and our conference rivals did us a favor and lost just enough for us to snag our playoff spot. It was an amazing last week comeback and a great finish to a season we almost gave up all hope on. 


11.) What is it that keeps you interested in the league? Is it your love of dot football, your locker room, a specific job or role you play, or something else? What do you like most about it? What could be improved? 

Initially I was a bit skeptical of how fun it would be to join a sim league and watch some dots move around from time to time. However, after watching my own player play in a simulation and make any impact whatsoever, I was completely captivated. Like I said earlier, I started off as a slow earner, but immediately began earning as much as I could when I discovered how fun it was to watch my player's name pop up in the text box at the end of plays in each simulation. I made my player a CB after being inspired by Jaire Alexander's phenomenal NFL season and watching Siege Cameron deflect passes and come up with some big time interceptions ended up being much more fun than I ever imagined. 

On top of the sim exceeding my entertainment expectations, the experience in the locker room has done just as much. Everyone in the KCC locker room has a great personality/sense of humor and they're all kind. There's no downside to being in that locker room whatsoever. Not only that, but our awful start to the season actually made it a bit easier to bond in my opinion. Nobody particularly liked losing, but everyone was capable of having a laugh about a crushing loss or a total blunder any given week. Instead of despairing or just blaming the sim the whole locker room loved to take it to the chin by chuckling about what went wrong and projecting optimism for the next game. Whether it was our first loss the Portland where we gave up a huge second half comeback or our second loss to Portland where we somehow gave up 270 yards and 3 touchdowns on only 5 [redacted] rushes, the locker room was always a fun place to be and made me want to hop on discord and speak to people every day, despite how introverted I normally am. 

The best part of the league for me is combining those things on game days. Watching the sim and commenting on it with other people in the locker room has no business being as fun as it is and I don't believe I missed a single game once I really got into it. I don't know if there's anything I would say could be improved, but I wish getting payouts from graphics were faster just because my player has gotten kind of broke pretty quickly (nervous laughter). I can't blame the graders for that though because they have lots of graphics to grade and I'm thankful that I can even submit graphics for money in the first place!

4) “Sim gonna sim” is a popular expression in the league. Write about teams that have been graced by the sim gods and had amazing performances despite statistical odds, and/or about teams that were considered favorites but may have dealt with some bad sim luck that hampered their efforts. How much of an impact did it have on their season(s)?

There is one glaringly obvious “sim gonna sim” moment from this past season. One of the strangest scorigami games ever witnessed. It was a game between a top team and a team that could be or should be on the rise. I’m talking of course about the Butchers Vs Fire Salamanders week 7 matchup that saw the Salamanders victorious by score of 8-5. Yes you read that correctly. 8-5. WHAT EVEN IS THAT ARE YOU KIDDING! This game does hold a special place in my heart though because I scored half of the Butchers points. Now some context for this the Butchers defense was really damn good, or should have been, and the salamanders are a team that seems to just have bad luck. But neither team is as bad on offense to make sense of this game. Neither team scored a single TD in this game which isn’t that unheard, especially when both teams have good defenses. The weird thing is that Kaepercolin had nearly 60% completion, 318 yards but failed to score. Petrongolo had 50 rush yards but 4.7 average, not bad but he didn’t get enough carries to be much help. The Butchers run game was stuffed with Yoda getting 50 yards on 23 carries and ODonnel had 53% completions with 168 yards. The strangest thing of all this is that both teams punted nearly 10 times, and the butchers only made it to FG range once, while Berlin makes it twice. That’s insanely good defense. Well after a fantastic butchers punt pinning Berlin deep I was able to blitz and record my first ISFL safety. Then by some stroke of luck Berlin did THE SAME EXACT THING. What kind of ISFL game nearly goes to OT at 5-5. For the butchers it could be attributed to phenomenal defense as Berlin’s offense wasn’t horrible. The same could be said for Berlin but at the same time neither teams offense should have been that horrible. This was a classic case of sim gonna sim. For some reason the Sim likes to make Chicago Berlin games just insane. My first career game against Berlin was a case of sim gonna sim, only it was in my favor. That game I had 2 interceptions in the first quarter, a pick six and later in the game I had a sack. We would win at the last moment 31-30. Then we have this game where it was a 8-5 nutso game that saw a safety from both teams. You couldn’t tell me that the sim wasn’t actively trying to screw this game up because I would say, find me another isfl game that had 2 safeties and final score of 8-5. Absolutely bonkers. Fortunately in both of these cases my individual player was simmed to greatness, despite losing one of them. There are plenty of other instances I could think of as well like oh I don’t know the fact that we got dominated on our home field by the damn yeti in the first round of the playoffs Sim gonna freaking sim alright but since I’m calm right now I’m not gonna talk about that one. Instead I will mention that Chicago has three corners over 1k yet somehow have the worst pass defense in the league. That makes absolutely ZERO sense in any way and is a constant every game example of the sim simming in horrible sim ways. I think Nolas Ultimus breakdown could be one of the worst sim gonna sim moments but I guess it could be argued that they were the worse team and maybe shouldn’t have made it in the first place. Colorado losing two Ultimus back to back to a far inferior Sabercats team despite despite testing over 80% is another very very prime example. In Minnesota we have had our fair share of the sim bending us over and stickin it where the sun don’t shine but since I’m not a player there anymore I haven’t noticed it as bad. One instance I do remember from Minnesota was when we got dominated by Myrtle Beach before they changed names. It was like 54-10 or something and if I remember correctly we were supposed to win that game based on tests. But somehow we got shutout in one of the biggest blowouts ever witnessed. I was a rookie then so it wasn’t like our team was phenomenal, we were not a good team that season, but cmon 54-10. That game was almost enough to make me leave lmfao. I’m not a sim hater by any means but there are so many examples of just blatant sim fuckery that happened so often. The new sim seems to be better but has its moment s. Especially before the changes to running backs. This stuff isn’t all bad though because it happens in real life too. Upsets happen and players have crazy wild one off games where they break a record and then disappear into mediocrity so it’s not all bad.

Tier 2- 5 TPE

So far my experience in the league had been great despite being passed over by so many teams numerous times in both of the drafts. I spent a lot of time in my pre DSFL days in the Portland Pythons where I was able to get acquainted with a bunch of great users and get accust to how the sim works. Since I was drafted by the Bondi Beach Buccaneers I had to move on and meet some more new people who were awesome and willing to help me with any question I had, which is good cuz I had a lot of them, especially because my player didn't play well at first.

The new sim seems to not like Free Safeties, however, I talked it over with the GM and decided that I was going to stick it out there and continue to improve, and improve I did. Numerous pass deflections, interceptions, and even a blocked punt propelled me to being the best Free Safety in the DSFL, a trend I plan on continuing in the ISFL.

That being said, there is no way I am going to settle for the play that I've put forth at the DSFL level. There is no way that I would consider that acceptable. Way too many broken and missed tackles, way too many missed opportunities and dropped interceptions. I am on the field to be a game hanger for whatever team I play for. Making tackles doesn't do that. Although, I did block a punt which was cool.

Draft night for the ISFL was absolutely awful, however, since I kept dropping and dropping. Obviously, despite my subpar Wonderlic score, I wasn't dumb and wasn't expecting to go in rounds 1 or rounds 2, but I felt pretty confident I would be drafted by someone in round 3; what team though? I had no idea. There weren't any clear indicators from any teams that they wanted me. It's always a weird feeling knowing that eventually someone will want you but do they truly want you or did they settle for you? I didn't think that things could get worse after the DSFL draft but I was wrong. Thankfully I ended up with a team and locker room that actually wanted me and cherished me. Putting me in that situation allowed me to thrive and I know that the same will happen with Austin in the ISFL.

Tier 3- 2.5 TPE

If the real bank were able to accept and convert our digital currency to actual money, on a 50 cent on the dollar basis, you better bet your sweet behind that I am converting it all into real life money. Even at a discounted rate the amount of money that I would be able to convert to real life money would be more than I'd make working for the next 44 years. I love this league, my team, and my locker room, but, come on, an extra 2 million dollars in real life would be life changing.

If real life were like the ISFL and you could earn money just by tweeting then it would be a different story, but I can make up the ISFL money with several tweets, but I can't do that without putting in real blood, sweat, and tears to make millions of dollars. Yea, it would affect my team and my player for little bit, but if I pushed to convert the ISFL money into real money towards the end of my career I wouldn't need to worry about possibly missing out on the weekly 5 TPE trainings that I can get with a 1 million dollar buy in.

Tier 3- 2.5 TPE

Chathack'rius Smith IV wouldn't agree to be paid for endorsing a product or service because Chathack'rius Smith IV is only focused on football, not peddling some bullshit product for some capitalist pigs to just exploit their underpaid overseas workers. What product is it that they want me to say something about? Some bullshit "energy crystal necklace", a water bottle that magically helps boost your recovery, or some insurance company that would give me the Chathack'rius Charge? Come on man....

I am here to play football, that is where my attention is, and spending 1, 2, or 3 hours talking about a product, rehearsing the script, and filming it is 1, 2, or 3 hours I could be watching film, hitting the weights, or out on the practice field. No wonder that some of these players slip if they are more worried about their bank account than their play. My play will make me rich on its own, since I am the GOAT, so I don't need to spend the time and energy trying to make money other ways.

I know this is a lot of words to say, "nah bro, try someone else" but "nah bro, try someone else with that shit"

For my Ulitmus Week Task I am going to opt for option 2 and tell you about my draft class (season twenty four), who was an unexpected steal and why certain players I believe will make the hall of fame and if they do not they will at least make a strong push. The players I am going to focus on for this piece are none other than my fellow turtles (Buster Bawls the fullback, Tony Yeboah the safety, Xmus Flaxon Jaxon – Waxon the safety come defensive end and myself Jeeeeroy Lenkins the cornerback and steal of the draft) and possibly an honourable mention for Raylan Crowder who invited us to join the league if I am toiling for words.

All of us entered the league in what I believe is the second biggest draft in the Interantional Simulation Football Leagues history and our class had one hundred and fifteen players enter the ISFL.
I will start off writing about Buster Bawls, he in my opinion is an absolute certainty to be the first out and out fullback to be entered into the hall of fame, none of this power running back nonsense that certain players have ran (Nakamura). He was original built as a power back but was a fullback at heart. Buster (dubbed the Raphael of us) entered the league at pick seventy three in the DSFL draft joining the Portland Pythons. In Buster’s first season with the Portland Pythons he only managed eighteen rushes for eighty yards averaging just over four yards per carry. Where Buster stood out from the rest of the rookies from the season twenty four draft class was that he had twenty pancakes and only allowed one sack in his fourteen games, he was also a threat in the passing game. Buster Bawls impressed that much for the Portland Pythons is his first season he was drafted by the New York Silverbacks at pick seventy one in the season twenty five International Simulation Football League and was immediately  called up. In his maiden season he rushed for four hundred and fifty yards and two touchdowns. Since that debut season he has gone from strength to strength and I know he is very well thought of in the New York Silverbacks locker room, this was evidenced when he got his contract extension last season. Like I say lock big Buster Bawls in to the hall of fame as the first real fullback.

Tony Yeboah was the first of the turtles drafted in to the league at pick thirty nine, I highly the General Managers of the Kansas City Coyotes expected they were drafting the player who would take their job at this pick but that is exactly what they did. Tony had a blistering start to his career with the coyotes and in his debut season he tallied up sixty eight tackles and six sacks and lead the team to a rather underwhelming six and eight season. The biggest disappointment of this season is no doubt the three game lose streak they ended their season with that ultimately cost them their playoff spot. Tony Yeboah was selected at pick twenty nine in the International Simulation Football League by the Baltimore Hawks. He spent another season down with the Kansas City Coyotes after being drafted. Ultimately his efforts in supporting the Kansas City Coyotes Ultimini were in vain as the team stumbled across to a seven and seven record. Despite his teams failings he tallied up an impressive sixty seven tackles, eleven sacks and one interception. Yeboah was called up to the Baltimore Hawks but his stay with the team turned rather sour after an unsuccessful bid to become co General Manager. Yeboah is no plying his trade for the Austin Copperheads and is going to be a big part of their resurgence in the coming seasons.
Xmus Flaxon Jaxon - Waxon pick forty by the Norrfolk Seawolves (you know the team who’s logo looks like a dildo). Once again another turtle that has gone on to be a General Manager of the team that drafted him. Xmus had a more impressive debut season than Tony Yeboah racking up seventy five tackles and six sacks in his first season in the league. He was drafted at pick twenty eight (the highest pick of all four turtles) by the San Jose Sabercats. This is another turtle who did not have a necessarily happy time at the team where he would make his International Simulation Football League. He changed position and gained a shit ton of weight to move from Safety to Defensive End but still received no love from his teams General Manager’s. Whether that was due to cap issues or they just did not rate him I do not know. He now ply’s his trade for the Colardo Yeti and will be coming up against me twice a year minimum for the foreseeable.

I’ve reached my target of eight hundred words so do not need to write much more. I Jeeeeroy Lenkins pick seventy four the Minnesota Grey Ducks and was the steal of the draft. Raylan Crowder was pick six in the DSFL draft, will also be a strong contender for the hall of fame and I am happy to say I am his biggest regret in this league. He told everyone that was willing to listen that I would be going inactive and tanked my draft stock. I am the highest earner of the four turtles and if it was not for him I reckon the Copperheads would have drafted me before Berlin did with pick fifty seven.
