I completely understand those concerns from @JuOSu @Symmetrik and @Yurt6 about the how the scale of the offense is so big. I don't know if ER will come back, but if he does, I want to give him the chance to tell us what happened. A full on one season suspension is big time offense. This is also special circumstances in my personal opinion given that Tuck is now on a different team than the one that benefited from the offense. This punishment was not one that was taken lightly, and I really don't think it's one that we rushed. We've taken our time here.

What do you mean give him a chance to tell us what happened...? We know what happened, the guy created like 7 multis. He is worse than Noble, yet we are treating him like he made a small mistake. He didn't make one or two multis, he made seven... SEVEN. Yet this league continues to just give small punishments because someone has "done a lot for the league" or is well liked. A cheater is a cheater, and in this case, it is by far the biggest case of cheating we have seen, and probably ever will see.

It is time to stop treating people like children. I get that this league is supposed to be fun, so you don't want to give out humongous bans. But the fun stops for all the rest of us when you keep fostering an environment where cheating results in a slap on the wrist at best.

Can we at least acknowledge that this is an insanely impressive feat to pull off? I legitimately feel bad for the rest of the team that's real people and everyone that this effects, but man, the amount of effort this took is beyond impressive.

Also, HO has to be the toughest position there is, no matter what you do there's going to be people who whole heartedly disagree. I can see and understand both sides of this and ultimately think the punishment is the right choice. That said, even though I think you guys got it right, I can't really picture a world where ER comes back and everyone is friends and cool with it. Like, what explanation could he give to fix this? Just being honest about it would warrant respect, but then you have a dude you can't trust being a member of the forums. Tough position, but for a first offense I can agree with this.

Also, I want to add that we need to stop referring to this as his "first offense". His first offense was when he created his first multi. It should not matter that it took us 7 offenses to catch him. If someone had created a multi, been caught, done it again, been caught, etc. 7 times, then they would have been permanently banned. Each infraction must be viewed as a separate offense.

I get what you're saying completely. I just don't think this is a slap on the wrist. I don't think we're encouraging cheating.

All of this is terrible news, but I'm good with the punishment. Yeah, he fucked up, for sure. But again, first time offense, etc. Plus, immediately retiring Tuck hurts a lot more people than just Er here. Missing a season, while leaving the door open to reconcile himself and start over is a good place to be. This isn't like Noble who's a clown that does this shit everywhere he goes. If Er does anything like this again, drop the ban hammer. Every punishment doesn't have to be excommunication.

Exactly. By that account Noble's offense was his 1st through 20th offense. That's not really how these things work.
